Ok, we'll see how this weeked goes. Hopefully things will pick up. If not and we're still struggling next week...

game 6 is the following Saturday night (the 30th, 3 days before the season starts). can everyone make that? (we'll miss drafting during Survivor: lovely lesbian islands, but more people should be able to attend).

oh, and CPA took shaq in League 1 via PM. So much for my awesome team name!

the little lightbulb showed that Storm logged on and off without picking. as a result, he gets Carmello and his pot smoking "friend" with the 10 pick.

(j/k, neo... you'll have to hold your breath until he gets back)

Stark, you know my next pick, because I emailed you my choices last night.

I still want Lebron.

it's a good thing you reminded me because when I was trying to remember, I kept thinking nate... nate... Nate James!!

that didn't seem right, so I just sat on it.

Lebron James (CLE) - James answered all his critics last season
and then some, claiming stake to the NBA Rookie of the Year
award. James showed flashes of his much-hyped brilliance, tickling
his owners with his uncanny ability to distribute the ball and score
points. James will certainly be looked upon to up his points per
game this season, as Cleveland management fumbled the ball with
Carlos Boozer. The arrival of Eric Snow shouldn't affect James'
assists totals too much, as James is an unselfish player who looks
pass-first frequently. James will be even better in his sophomore
campaign, as scary as that may be, and has the talent to play at a
first round pace as soon as this year. James figures to be taken in
the second round, but don't be surprised if a team with a late first
round pick snags him and banks on his seemingly unlimited potential.

Ahhh... thinking Nate.... very clever.

ps - James is my middle name.

Baron Davis (NOR) - In Jamal Mashburn's almost season-long
absence, Davis took the next step as a scorer last season, averaging
22.9 ppg. There's no reason to expect the 25-year old not to
match or exceed that performance in '04-'05. That said, he
chucked lot of shots, shooting 39.5 percent on the year, and is only
a 67 percent free throw shooter, which is pretty lousy for a guard.
Davis pumps in a ton of threes (187 in 03-04), and will give you 7-
plus assists and 2-plus steals per game. The only things holding
Davis back from being a truly elite NBA player are durability and
control. He missed 15 games last season with ankle problems, after
missing 32 games the season before. But if he stays in the lineup
and picks his opportunities to score a little better, Davis will dominate.

I bet he'll be a double double guy this year in assists and points. Is anyone else watching the Real Training Camp with the Hornets on NBATV? Byron is whipping those boys into shape!

Actually i was planning to get another big guy. But taking them at this pick seems too high for them. I'm open for any trade offer, send me an offer if you are interested

CPA takes:

Brad Miller (SAC) - Miller is no stranger to center, having played
the position while with the Pacers. Only starting twice last season
may make him initially ineligible this year in some leagues (he's F/C this year in our league).
He averaged
a double-double last year (14.1 ppg, 10.4 rpg) and averaged a
career-high 36.4 mpg. Chris Webber is healthy, and there is no
shortage of scoring options on this team, so Miller will never be
greater than a third or fourth option. If the team grants Peja
Stojakovic his wish and trades him, Miller could become a greater
scoring threat. Miller is also an excellent source of assists from the
center spot.

Don't we all have 24 hours to make our pick? Or am I confusing leagues. hrm. I'm drafting 3 offline leagues at the same time

In any case, people should at the least be checking their emails for draft updates, banned or not.

we started early, so no time deadlines are going to kick in this weeked. If we hustle next week we should be able to get through it. If next Saturday comes and we're still a long way off, there will be a chat draft during the WS game. Anyone who can't make it for any reason will have their teams filled in for them (based on their list or the yahoo default).

maybe we should compile a list of names and their aim/icq/msn. i don't want to ask for phone #s because that might be too personal.

i'll start: my aim is "ibvandam"
