Lee was known to utilize eye gouging. Imagine the speed he could take your vision from you. You literally wouldn't even see it, but you'd feel it.

Wasn't curly known for this technique too? Sorry I had to say it.

As for Bruce and Mike. I like both but I say mike.

Many of those quotes above are political statements. Norris thought he could beat him simply b/c he said he was a "pro" and Lee wasn't, etc, etc, yada yada.

You can admire Lee. Sure. He was at the forefront of combining different disciplines. Fine. His training was also ahead of its time. Fine. Lee was a pioneer. Fine. He was strong/fast for his size. Fine....But, with lots of unfilmed "high school rumormongering" fancy tales of amazing feats from his buddies that add to this blown up legend/mystique.

It's idiotic to think Tyson wouldn't adapt his technique to such a fight. Tyson was a monster. Extremely powerful. Vicious. Fast. Aggressive. Intelligent/Methodical. He had distinguished seasoned boxers literally shaking in the ring before a fight. He was respected and feared among pros for a good reason.

IF Tyson could knock 200lb+ monsters with one punch, in the first round with such toyish ease, imagine that force applied to a much lighter guy. Even a side graze hit would leave most humans reeling in pain. Now imagine that speed/force applied.....WITHOUT GLOVES.

To think that Tyson would leave his knees and balls exposed to dirty street fighting is nonsensical. Tyson was a dirty fighting street pit bull put into a ring with rules. On the street he'd be worse, he'd kill his ex-boxing opponents in a fight using everything at his disposal.

Oh i'm sure his miss rate would be like 99%. But that 1% hit is all it would take. I think he could withstand some punches and kicks from Lee with his size advantage. I dunno its silly to argue it anyways, but id pick Tyson still lol
Have you watched any of Tyson's fights? He was blindingly fast.

Tyson was also a master of quick close quarters powerful punches.
Watch his fights. Many of his knockouts are almost invisible.
I could see him coming at Lee in a protected boxing stance, Lee hitting him a few times to no avail and Tyson landing a close quarters uppercut that tears Lee's head clean off.

But... I can also see Lee hopping around like a rabbit not letting Tyson get close enough.

Tyson wins the streetfight due to having a tiger. Bruce was pretty good, but I don't think he could beat Mike and his tiger.

As much as we all love to root for the smaller, faster, underdog-type there's a reason why fighters match up by weight. Tyson would kill Bruce Lee in a fair fight.

What exactly do you mean by fair fight here? Do you mean getting rid of all of the most powerful attacks that Bruce Lee uses and thus playing right into the advantage of Mike Tyson here?

Anyways I think a few knee kicks, liver strikes, and some eye gouging might put Tyson out of the fight.

LOL, Mike wouldn't stand a chance against Bruce if both at their peak! Mike probably wouldn't even see the hit coming!
I doubt Mike would even connect a punch to Bruce, let alone a few pressure point hits from Bruce and Mike would be gone burger!

Faster than Bruce?
Is someone holding a stopwatch? Lol at most of you guys.
He would be fast enough. Heavyweight boxers with a flurry of punches is no joke.
My childhood friends dad was one of Bruce's sparring partners. I grew up with Bruce Lee as my hero, not Tyson.
You guys are making my memories weird.

Funniest post in the thread, there's no proof Tyson was a street fighter, not even rumors. Furthermore, it's a fact Lee could kick faster than Tyson could punch. Last, Tyson is an illiterate moron who races pigeons in his spare time (while Lee's hobby was strength training and creating an entire martial arts philosophy)- to suggest he could "adapt his technique" is pure homerism at its finest. Adapt to what? Substance addiction again? Blowing 400 mil again? Sure, lol. Stop dickriding.

The fight was contested under specially created rules. Due to varying claims over the years, it is difficult to know the reasons behind their implementation. It has been alleged that the fight was originally to have been a worked match. According to boxing journalist Jim Murphy, the original plan was for Ali to accidentally punch the referee and knock him out. While standing over the referee, looking concerned, Inoki would knock him out with a kick to the head. The referee would then come around and count Ali out, giving Inoki the win in front of his fellow countrymen, and allowing Ali to save face. However, when Ali found out he had to lose, he refused, turning the fixed fight into a real one.[4]

According to Inoki, Ali and his entourage had signed on expecting the fight to be an exhibition rather than a real contest. It was only when they went to see Inoki train six days before the fight, and saw him use a series of brutal drop-kicks and violent grapples on sparring partners, that they sensed it would be a legitimate fight. Inoki alleges he was asked by Ali "OK, so when do we do the rehearsal?", with Inoki replying: "No, no. This isn't an exhibition. It's a real fight!"[4]

In the days leading up to the fight Ali and Inoki's representatives began to renegotiate the rules. A list of restrictions was imposed on Inoki. He would not be allowed to throw, grapple or tackle Ali, and could not land any kicks unless he had one knee on the mat.[3] Ali's camp also demanded that the rules not be made public before the fight. Judo expert and US Marine Donn Draeger noted: "The rules have been so seriously modified that the contest is no longer boxing versus wrestling. Unless this were done there would be no way to choreograph the match and make it look convincing. Ali can grapple or punch the man down; Inoki is not allowed to leg-dive or tackle. That latter restriction is the same as prohibiting Ali from jabbing. What a farce!".[4]

Wow, thats one of the lamest dumb things I have ever seen. Its like watching a bad godzilla movie.

Guess who ended up much worse for wear in the end, including a major hospital stay, surgery, and permanent injuries, which led to major loss of fighting ability for the rest of his life?
