Doesn't seem like a bad deal for the type of person that would buy this. Sure, you can get a Dell for about 150-200 more, but for alot of people that 150-200 more is hard to come by.

EDIT: If you look at the bright side, this could be equivalent to like a P4 800mhz

i don't think it is a bad deal if the processor is katmai w/ 512 k l2. could serve to be a nice file server, if upgraded to 100+ gb hard drive

I live in Ohio. All in all, it's not that terrible of a deal considering it includes a monitor and Windows XP Home license. You may even be able to sell the XP Home license and monitor to recover some of the cost.

Good price for all the goodies. If you don't need XP or the monitor, you can just buy a refurb system from compgeeks for $100.

the only thing i see is that rebate. its the same reason i refuse dell/hp/compaq deals with self rebates
