How did you like it? (I assume you did since the 12+ years) My best friend is at USMC Boot to become a MP

"Your" has a "r" in it.
USA, 13 Foxtrot.

Fixed. That sounds really cool

35Hotel - Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Maintenance Support Specialist, aka a Calibrator. Also had the Radiac designator for calibrating dosimeters with a radioactive source, and checking/repairing CAA's. Can't remember the code for that, though.

Unless things have changed drastically in the last 40+ years I don't see what difference it makes what you were trained for.

When I got to VN they knew I could read maps so they handed me a two way radio, a map and told me I was now a forward observer. It was OJT to the extreme.

Although I was Army, I spent a significant amount of my time attached to the 3rd Marine Division calling in arty, air and naval gunfire. It sucked ass.

alfa147x, not to pry, but why are you going into IS? I saw your other thread, too. I hope you've been told you'll most likely be managing.

Why not go into the photography field. You seem to have an interest in it, so why not make it a career?

Yeah I know I'll most likely be managing, it actually what im in for... I also do like the SAP side of things. I do plan on getting my MBA with a ERP emphasis

I really don't like photography as a career because it doesnt have the promise that IS has, I want to be able to comfortably raise a family. Also photography to me is a great hobby, don't really want to change it. I did shoot for money a TON during high school, actually I had enough to buy a car + pay for college. But honestly I enjoy it as a hobby not a job.

SAP is mainly involved with handling the logistics for manufacturing companies. I do not expect you will get much experience with SAP in the military. I would recommend pursuing Oracle technology since it is a standards based application. Once proficiency is gained with an application based on database standards, then you may go in whatever direction seems appropriate with a solid foundation.
