It is obvious that you think minorities should get special treatment and not equal treatment. Everyone has their own opinion. Mine is just different from yours. I think it should be based on merit and not ethnicity. If I am line for a job I should probably let you get in line front of me since your relatives that lived before we were born were mistreated. You act as if things were just given to me. That is not the case.

But too many employers have negative dispositions, whether it be against ethnicities, sexualities or gender.
As such, when the world is finally ridden of racist scum, everyone can walk into a job interview equal. Until then we'll need to give special treatment to these people to make sure they are given a chance at employment.

Actually the bulk of my comments is your assumption minorities don't work as hard as you. As for college I don't know very many black people who get special consideration because parents are alumni, mommy is on the board or daddy donated a wing.Part of my comments are based on where my son goes to school, the University of Georgia. Entrance and scholarships at UGA are based on ethnicity first and merit second. They want the same demographic make up at the school as there is in the state of Georgia.
I hear what you are saying about whites having the majority of higher playing jobs. I guess you are saying because of that fact minorities should get more help. This viewpoint is precisesly what I was talking about in my earlier post. I comment on how it is not fair to my son and you bring up a reason why minorities should get special treatment not equal treatment. I also never said minorities are lazy. I just know there are minorities at UGA who did not perform as well in school as my son but they are afforded more financial help based on their grades which are not as good as the grades my son made. I find that frustrating.
Between the two of us, only one suffers from myopic self-interest, and it's not the one with some social perspective beyond me & mine.

Just look at recent Presidents.. GW Bush was a C student at Yale who became POTUS. Obama had to be straight A at Columbia, Harvard Law and President of the Harvard Law Review. If Obama had Bush's college records he could barely be the night manager at Burger King.
