I sort of think the kids were in danger. The killing of the dog signals something beyond normal depression, I'm no expert but I don't think I've ever felt low enough to kill my dog. I know she'd get on just fine without me

Considering her failed attempts at killing herself, maybe she was just a really bad shot and shot the dog on accident while trying to shoot herself.

You are delusional. Do you have any idea how hard it is for most people to know or hear of anyone other than Garth Brooks and Randy Travis if they don't actively seek out country music? Even being a mainstream country music star, you still live in a bubble as far as the rest of the public's consciousness goes. I thought country fans at least acknowledge that. I live in her state and never heard of her. Similarly, I live in Alan Jackson's home town but I haven't heard an Alan Jackson song or media mention in at least several years even though there are high school stadiums and highways named after him all around me. Hell, I just asked my sister from San Diego if she knows who Mindy McReady is or has ever heard the name and she said "no."

She truly was a second rate country singer at best, with many hard years after she had a hit until now.
This was a fully expected ending for her, not like a "holy shit, the killer was an olympic runner with metal legs!" kind of situation.
