Mini-computer = portable storage device?

Is there any way possible to partition a computers hard drive so that, aside from the boot drive (C), let's say, (D) has 10GB storage capacity -- is it possible to make the (D) 10GB partition show up as a logical drive on *another* computer by connecting the two via USB 2.0/Firewire? (i'm thinking along the lines of an external hd enclosure's functionality, however, since I already have a fully functional computer that is about that size, I might as well use that for dual functionality.)

You can set up point to point networking thru both firewire and usb. Then just use microsoft file and print sharing to share the the directory on the harddrive. Then you can map the drive on the client machine to a drive letter and get it done that way.


Never done it myself though.
