In my travels I have acquired a BP-6, Two S370 Alphas, a spare ATX case, a 6.4 GB Seagate HDD, a floppy, 64 MB stick of SDRAM, a NIC card and even a cheesy Tsing Labs 4 MB video card.
I only need the CPUs.
What do you guys recommend for turning this into a dedicated RC5 box that wil put out the maximum amount of work if left on 24/7 with nothing else running on it?
Will I get more keys/second if I am running Linux as opposed to NT4?
Are the new Celeron IIs (I'm thinking 566 @ 850)worth the price and effort? If I use the adaptor does that affect stability?
Is anybody out there actually doing this set-up right now?
I want to contribute a bit more to the team. Right now I only have my daughters machine (P-III 667), my main machine (P-III650@936), My work Machine (P-III 800) and the Ex-Wife's Celeron (366@550). All of these are on 24/7. Yes and I still need MORE Work Units!
