mini-ITX that's near-silent and allows 3.5" HD?

I'm looking to replace my music server which is currently in an NSK4400 case, with something much smaller but still very quiet -- no whiny 40mm fans allowed. But I don't want it to cook the parts to death either. I do need a DVD drive mount for ripping new CDs, slim is OK.

I just need 1 x 3.5 HD mount, though if there is a small case with 2 x 3.5 or possibly 1 x 3.5 and 1 x 2.5 that would be even better.

I haven't picked the motherboard yet, I'm going back and forth between atom, C2D, and X2. Onboard optical out would save me from needing an expansion slot for the audio bracket.

Is there anything better (or cheaper) than a Silverstone SG06 that you'd recommend?

It's really going to depend on your parts and whether you're overclocking or not. This one's fanless, has your requirements including 3.5+2.5 HDD, will get dusty pretty fast though.

I'm a fan of the Sugo-06 that houses my HTPC at the moment -- in stock form it can house 1x 2.5" and 1x 3.5" hdd. Since I am not using a double-depth video card in the PCIe slot (only a single-depth Hauppage 2250), I have installed two additional 3.5" Hdd's vertically in that space so I can have all my media in one location

Interesting idea -- how quiet is it, and what MB / CPU combination are you using?

I'm now leaning towards a ZOTAC NM10-A-E Intel Atom D510 board since it's passively cooled but unlike the Asus and intel MBs I've looked at has optical out built in not just header pins.

Sugo SG06 is a nice looking mini ITX case. Only problem is I don't know if I'd classify it as near silent, though. The front fan is easy to deal with, you can just run it at a lower voltage or replace it with something quieter. But I think the power supply in the SG05 and SG06 is kind of loud, and replacing the fan isn't easy (it uses a slim 80mm, not a standard 80x25mm).
