Link goes into the gore - by detailing how he raised taxes on the rich (D as well as minimum wage (D: x 2). And, it paid off!

I know, I know, the Huffington Post is LULbiral propaganda, but there is a TON of links backing up their claims - some links are even to Forbes no less.

So, how is it that liberal approach (raise taxes on the rich, increase min wage) has knocked it out of the park, while the conservative approach (cut taxes on the rich, leave min wage as is) is shitting the bed?

Governor, can you please send a message to the other states so all can understand how that is working in benefit of the people.

Well what do you think he means when he says "My contention is that MN's "liberal policies" (originating from 4 years of Democratic control from the top down) have helped the state's economy. "?

I don't care who picked the two, the OP and yourself apparently, not me.

Sigh. Again, I didn't pick those two, I am talking much broader. Education, infrastructure, health care, welfare, taxes of course but not just income, environment, unions, budgeting, transportation, you name it. Pick as much as you want! This is why I keep saying "policies".

To have a good comparison and an effective point you'd have to 1) believe MN, WI and NY are very similar states and 2) believe that MN and NY are run the same way (more than just the 2 things).

I would be hard pressed to believe MN has much more liberal policies than NY on anything.

Minnnesota and Wisconsin are a great comparison. They are extremely similar in many regards. Neither one has much in common with New York.

All the people trying to make comparisons between Minnesota and Wisconsin are missing a few vital points. Wisconsin is 3rd of 50 states most dependent on manufacturing as a portion of her own economy, with over 20% of Wisconsin's GDP being from the manufacturing sector. Minnesota is at just 13% of her GDP being derived from the manufacturing sector. Wisconsin's manufacturing industry will continue to face competition from a deflating euro and the Chinese. Another growth agent in the northwestern portion of the state has been frack sand mining, which will probably reduce in 2015 due to the oil price fall. But we'll see.

Oh noes!! Target is restructuring to meet the current type of demand it's constomers want! Oh noes! This totally reflects on the horrible liberal policies Minnesota has embraced!!

Except it doesn't, from the article you clearly didn't bother to read:

"It's very unfortunate for these people losing their jobs, But I think there were too many layers of management and this caused the company to be stale and not efficient. And not nimble."

In mid-February, Target announced it would slash 550 jobs from its Twin Cities headquarters as part of the corporation's retreat from Canada. Target employs roughly 13,000 in its Twin Cities headquarters operations.

On Tuesday, the company said it will make a major push to expand its online and mobile sales operations. And its future store opening plans "will increasingly focus on new, more flexible formats like TargetExpress and CityTarget, which cater to guests in rapidly-growing, dense urban areas."

Thanks for displaying your stupidity once again troll

Target has grown bloated. And I also wonder how many of these jobs are related to the closing of their Canadian stores.

It's disgusting that you are reveling in people losing their jobs because you think (erroneously) that it supports your political position. You are a mean-spirited troll and posts like this one sicken me.

My girlfriend was an exec at Target until about 4 months ago, when she moved to Best Buy. She tells me that Target has long been heavy in mid-level executives, particularly at the VP level, and that this was just a needed culling. In any case it obviously has nothing whatsoever to do with Minnesota's tax laws.

LOL, Democrats. Good news MUST be related to liberal government, bad news CANNOT be. You people are amazingly daft.

When it comes to mean-spirited trolls, I have nothing on shitstains like the Democrat boosters on this site, so go fuck yourself Don.

Look at this thread full of left wing fucktards cheering on bad economic news because they can use it as political ammo.

Hell, in this very thread you've got Democrats spooging on each other over the fact that they can blame a Republican for the WI economy.

Take your self-righteous bullshit cram it back it the asshole you pulled it from Vito.

My good friends wife is I think 2 levels below VP. Be interesting to see if she is affected by these layoffs.

Huh, I figured the link was just being shared across the MN guys here as FYI and not really related to the thread otherwise.

I guess if it's supposed to be an indicator of the original topic, yeah I'm curious to see that connection too.

FWIW I didn't see any reveling or mean spirit or whatever else. I could be dense that way.

When you've been here long enough you get to know people and their motives for posting things. When bober says, "oops that's going to hurt" with no other comment it's because he's trying to make a point but he realizes how weak his point is so he keeps his thoughts to a minimum in hopes that no one will call him on his bullshit. It's a tactic used among trolls and is the equivalent of saying, "I'll just leave this info right here". Except bober isn't smart enough to troll properly and he usually just makes an ass of himself. It's why his follow up post consists of him deflecting and more shit flinging and false equivilancies.

There was a time when he was actually capable of good conversation but sadly those times seem to be long past.

You really are a silver-tongued dandy. You sound like a happy, well-adjusted man who is delighted with his lot in life, and not at all like the protagonist in the film Falling Down. Stay classy!
