Minor TV Wonder Problem....help?

Ok, the TV Wonder may not be the best tv tuner out there but, so far, I haven't had as much trouble as most people that have it in the forums. I'm running Windows XP and it's been fine ever since I got it but I got fed up with having to change color depth to watch TV, so I decided I'd try to use other TV Tuner software. So far I've tried Intervideo's WinDVR and Cyberlink's PowerVCR II. I liked WinDVR the most, but in both of them, when I try to do timeshifting after it starts up, every few seconds the video pauses, not a long pause, just like a quarter of a second. It's very agitating. I've looked a lot of places and tried lowering the quality settings to no avail. I don't think it's my HD either. it's a WD 80GB 8mb SE and it's set at UDMA 100. Ideas anyone?

What is with haing to change color depth with the TV wonder??? Is that a winxp thing? I ahve a 8500DV so I have no issues...plus I run satellite TV and the quality is like night and day to the sucking cable tv signal...

GUess what I have issues with my time shifting...it runs fine but the audio sounds like it is in a cave!!!

The thing with changing the color depth is the result of a bug in the winxp MMC for the tvwonder. the image is all screwed up horizontal from the looks of it. changing the color depth is one of the ways of getting it straightened out. another is to just click someplace empty on the desktop while the tehe MMS splash screen is displayed.

The 8500DV and ATi cards with a TV tuner built in don't have the same drivers as the TV Wonder so those cards usually have no problems. Anyone else?

so basically still after 1 year since I had my tv wonder ATI still refuses to upgrade the drivers and support winxp??? ATI sucks sometiimes...


Yeah I know 8500DV is not that same and actually has winxp support...plu the tuner for the TV is a digital tuner and not an analog tuner like yours and the successor 9700pro AIW...

Actually the new beta version of the MMC and the beta drivers have fixed the garbled video issue for me. If this was your only complaint then I would give the ATI software a try again. And things are still in the works with the TV Wonder--ATI is working on WHQL certified TV Wonder drivers.

i got a TV WONDER USB and it lets me adjust the color of the TUNER

not sure if it is the same with yours (VE or PCI) but mine looks ok even after tv-out

if nothing works dual OS is the only way that i can think of...

Apparantly you guys weren't getting my drift. I was asking about the stuttering...not the color problem. That's fixed by using different TV Tuner software, like WinDVR. But I fixed it, Windows was being gay about my IDE controller and I reinstalled it an no probs.
