Um.
They used to pronounce L's like R's...
It's because their r is similar to our L, but still contain the sound of r.
So technically, their r is a mix between our L and R.
So i don't think your friend got it backwards.
? ? ? ? ?

Um, their R is similar to a mix between lLand R, like you say, but it is closer to an l. They do not pronounce L's like R's, since they don't really have a R sound like we do in their alphabet. It is much closer to L.

For example, kirara is much closer to the english prounced kilala than kirara.

OR aishiteru is closer to the english pronounced aishitelu than aishiteru.

EDIT: Point is, they would not pronounce love like 'ruv' or hello like 'herro'. They are more likely to pronounce angry like 'angly'. It isn't exactly an L, but closer to an L than an R.

Of course, Im biased because Im not into asian girls, although some are really cute But my main complaint is the lack of boobs really

Dam U for introducing me to another awsome website. (thks ) I'm over loaded with websites that I wanted to check out but no time.

Awsome pic.

This is a diff type of "Hot". Most asian girls are more.... cute and innocent looking.

Kobayashi needs to take both of those chicks on dates before they will even start to look remotely hot.

"Three years ago, Shirata appeared in an R-rated movie called 'Kanzen Naru Kaiiku Himitsu no Chikashitsu (The Perfect Pet: Secret Basement).' As the title perhaps suggests, she played the role of a high school girl abducted and kept prisoner by a man played by Taro Yamamoto. It was her first movie and was pretty steamy, getting her nude and performing sex and bondage scenes," a reporter on the entertainment beat tells Shukan Shincho.

Teh Kinky!

I can't believe I am hearing so much 'asians aren't my type' responds in here.
I think asian chicks are so hot. And I'm your average amerian guy, for sure.
Both are hot, but the Japanesse girl has those eyes to get lost in.

It's not that they aren't attractive, they just don't have two features that many American males like:

Boobs
Butt

They're built like skinny teenage boys...Mark Foley material.
