Missing Key to Hard Drive Chassis

Hi,

We have some generic rack server with 6 hot-swappable SATA hard drives.

We happen to be missing the key to the hot-swap hard drive chassis. 1 hard drive is locked and we can't get it out without the key. :Q

Any idea on how to find a replacement key or how to crack the lock?

There are no part numbers on the hot-swap hard drive chassis and the server is generic.

I'm stuck.. and ideas?

hehe, theman that would work, but we would still like to use the hot-swap chassis again.

Are there sets of standard keys that can be used to jimmy the lock?

I would say take it to a locksmith and see what they can do with it.

If it's a server, the locksmith comes out

Anyway, drive caddies usually use a standard hollow cylindrical key. Find another one from a case lock or a different caddy, and that should do it.

The only exercise he'd be getting if he takes it to the locksmith is running from his boss

If it's a cylindrical key, try a Bic pen (or similar object) - google for instructions for picking Kryptonite locks that use cylindrical keys...

Yeah I heard that those Kryptonite bike lock can be picked with a Bic pen. I gotta check that out. Hey thanks for all the ideas you guys, I will try that. Anyways here are some pics the enclosure:

Seriously, you don't have any spare case keys knocking around near all your servers?

I tried putting the cylinder of the Bic pen in the key lock and the Bic pen cylinder too big for it to fit.

So I guess finding other case keys is my only option? I don't think I have any
