hehe, if you are that old, and your arthritis makes your "weary bones ache" and you can't see, then I guess you'll just have to be grumpy, because it will be to painful for you to get laid and chill. :Q

Naw, not that old ya'll.

DPC is interestingly quiet. Odd.

Wonder if that is one of their tricks,
predicting what range we will be getting
blocks from, and cracking "randoms" or "hand"
editing their in file, and dumping them before
we get a chance to...it would be rather clever,
since when we flush, we'd not get credit for our
blocks, and show a shortage from what we flush.

It'd make other folks herds that less effective,
and in effect, double their relative output.

And the other wierd thing is that
on the days we post the highest
output, for some very odd and
strange reason, they show the
lowest output.

Strange.

Jarhead, don't take it the wrong way, but your idea doesn't hold much water. First and foremost, Dnet reprogramed their clients to hold the random prefix somewhere besides the IINI file(to where, I don't know). Second, we do less than 10% of Dnet's daily work load(closer to unser 5%). For the DPCs to be doing that, they'd have to know exactly what proxy Mika draws off of, and what blocks are there. Since neither of the above are likely, and very close to being impossible, I'd say there's a good chance that the DPCs aren't doing that.

Your block is between your shoulders, just a little higher.

Your blocks have aimlessly drifted off into the deep black hole
of Dnet, never to return.

Take an asprin, say a prayer for them and go off to bed, sleep on it,
you'll feel better in the morning.

Adul-

First let me tell you I normally have nothing to do with stats. I have investigated this to show an example. I would like to thanks Daa for his help getting these numbers.

on 2/2 you flushed 121,098 blocks according to stats. In the first few hours of 2/3 you had alot of flushes that looked like it came from your big flush of 134,974 the day before which you said.

on 2/3 here is the breakdown of workunits you sent under tncrc5

WU's * # of 2^28 = BLOCKS
235 * 1 = 235
263 * 2 = 526
236 * 3 = 717
204 * 4 = 816
163 * 5 = 815
159 * 6 = 954
80 * 7 = 560
1012 * 8 = 8096
1 * 12 = 12
2 * 17 = 34
1 * 19 = 19
3 * 32 = 96

2359 WU's total submitted 12871 Stats units (blocks)

Now whats interesting Is the followig emails are retired to tncrc5 and they submitted work on 2/3 (yes there are a few other emails but they didn't submit anything)

adul3 1484 WU's
damuall 47 Wu's

That total ends up taking WU's total to 3884 with the following break down

WU's * # of 2^28 = BLOCKS
1601 * 1 = 1601
276 * 2 = 552
253 * 3 = 759
253 * 4 = 1012
169 * 5 = 845
171 * 6 = 1026
79 * 7 = 553
1075 * 8 = 8600
1 * 12 = 12
2 * 17 = 34
1 * 19 = 19
3 * 32 = 96

3884 WU's total submitted 15109 Stats units (blocks)

This is right on what stats says for 2/3.

So what we know

You said you flushed 134,974 Blocks on 2/2
On 2/3 you say you sent 2596 Blocks

Now what we learned from stats

You received credit for 121,098 blocks on 2/2
You received credit for 15,109 blocks on 2/3

We Use the numbers add credited blocks together 121,098 + 15,109 = 136,207 Blocks

From your numbers we add 134,974 + 2,596 Blocks = 137,570 Blocks

(137,570 - 136,207) / 137,570 = .01 * 100 == 1% block loss. sure this isn't perfect, but I'm not exactly sure where you are getting your numbers exactly. Providing proxy logs and client logs could help confirm these numbers but i currently doen't have time to spend more time on this. There could be a mistake in your numbers. And I didn't go back and do exact numbers on 2/2/01. who knows maybe some of those blocks will show up tomorrow or they were dupes.

The point is Numbers are close but there is no 13,876 difference missing from 2/2. Sure they didn't show up all on 1 day, but they show up. Sure there is some loss, But with out your logs there is no way to tell.

Now to your reflush of 160K blocks the following is a wc on the master Dupe logs from today. I didn't get fancy, but this (lines words char)

Lines Words Char Email address
25471 50942 1986797 tncrc5
6523 13046 502271 adul3

You had 25,471 lines of dupes in our logs. This is not 25,471 blocks, but 25,471 lines of dupe messages each line is a dupe entry. Could be anything from 1*2^28, 2*2^28, .... , to 32*2^28.

Basickly this is alot of dupes entries for 1 person.

Its getting late and I hope this makes sense I will try to explain things others don't understand.

Jarhead-

I do not know what you wanted to accomplish by this statement.

"Yeah, he probably is, and doesn't give a rats *ss. He got CC'd on this, probably basking in the glory of some interview, feeling pretty damn smug."

But I would like to let you know that I did not appricate it at all. You know nothing about me or my personal life. And if you think for a minute that I don't care about our users you are 100% wrong. Sure I do not spend my time reading every single topic in this forum, I prob miss things, but I try to browse the topics and find things that are of interest.

Thanks
paul

As you are reading this topic, could you answer this question too?

What happened or will happen with the output flushed on feb. 1?

We ( TA and DPC) would really like that clearified.

Well, the 5700 blocks short I mentioned above didn't show up on the 2/3 stats nor on the 2/4 stats. I guess they're gone.
