You can't spot a trend via the media as they tend to gin it up quite a bit. From shark attacks to tornado, hurricanes, kids left in hot cars, etc... It only seems like a larger issue.

We don't even know the details of what happened yet -- so we have no idea if the shooting was justified or not -- but the race baiters are already on board (crump & co are on the case), Jesse and Al will surely be there soon, and of course rioting and looting is a given. I live across the Mississippi river from St Louis, MO near where this happened. No way am I going to jump to conclusions until after the investigation by the FBI. In St Louis, MO, in cases like these, it is common that you might see the police asking the FBI to investigate, so it will be an outside investigation that the public will respect.
