Misterious 3dfx Voodoo3 video card

Hi!
I recently got an interesting piece of hardware, an actual 3dfx Voodoo3 video card for my work. I was able to actually identify the card from here. My problem is: i can't fit into neither of my AGP or PCI slots on my old AMD machine. The serial number of the card is: 210-0364-003.
I greatly appreciate any help, because i want to try this piece of hardware.

Found this image on Wikipedia.

Check the keys on the card and along the slot on your PC. Could be that the card is 3.3 V while the slot is 1.5 V, or vice versa.

Thanks, actually the motherboard states that a 3V card will damage the board. So i need to get another motherboard to use this card? Btw. i have an ASROCK K7VT4A-PRO motherboard.

There are different kinds of AGP slots.

So i need to find a motherboard that is much rarer than the actual card. Here, in Hungary if you find something that's old and rare, then you need to pay much more than the whole configuration worth. :/

Sounds about right

OP is there a point to this project other than nostalgia (wanting to live the past again)?

I had a 3dfx card in 2000, I can say it became a pain in the ass looking for driver updates for it.

Actually, i just wanted to test the card to see if it works. That's all. I have a slightly powerful ATI Radeon 7000.

Looking at the picture of your board I don't see a problem... the card has a notch where a notch should be, 1.5V certified.
I would check the rocker at the end of the slot to make sure it's not preventing the card from getting in there. Check for other blockages jammed in the slot.

Memory's a bit fuzzy... did the 3.3V cards come AFTER 5V? If that's the case, you're right.
Looked up his card; it's not going to fit in that older slot. Might want to trade it to another collector for a V2 PCI or something.
(I have a Voodoo3 PCI... makes a nice Diablo2 box!)

i ran a voodoo3 pci in my overclocked pentium pro box, destroying newbs at Q2 CTF and owning fools at Q3A.

so fun. wish i still had that card. do still have a matrox millenium and canopus pure3d setup that i could run in that pentium (still boots last time i put it together!)

I had a voodoo 3 3000 back in the day, if i remember right with a celeron 366@550 on a bit BM6. was either that or the AMD k6-2 rig i had before the celeron.

I had one in a Gateway P500. I miss those days a good card could be a huge performance boost.
I miss my cowputer and its cow box. I know they're back but they're not the same

3.3v boards were not rare boards in their time. They were the standard. But these days, they are hard to come by.
