That's why my daughter will go to public state college when she's old enough. I'm not wasting my money on private school education.

what is worth a certain amount of money, or what would be a better deal, is very subjective and situation dependent

congrats op

They just decided to raise tuition again...stupid Regents.
Oh wells, sucks to be still in school I gues.

indeed, but especially considering my parents are sending me to a private high school, i highly doubt they'd prefer to send me berkeley over MIT. Of course, I don't even know if I got into UCB. I didn't even get an interview for regents.

For the price I'm paying for my college education I wish I'd chosen a private school instead...I've spent roughly 100k total accounting for tuition, summer session, living and travelling expenses.

I hope your parents are picking up the tab. It'd suck to get through just undergrad with 150k in loans.

well, they'll have to pick up some (probably most) of it. They wanted me to go to some prestigious private school. Right now I'm applying for a bunch of scholarships and will need to find a summer job.

You can get all the summer jobs you want, but you're not going to make a dent in that tuition. You'll get financial aid. It just might be in the form of a lot of subsidized loans.

IMHO only top-rank schools like MIT or CalTech are the only schools worth that kind of tuition.

Congradulations!

Grats, enjoy pass/fail first semester . I'm finishing up senior year here, with the 5th year MEng program coming up. If you choose to do course 6 (EECS) I can give you some advice

Almost no undergrad is worth that IMO.
Remove the "Almost" from your last sentence and you'd be correct.

I was thinking of apply to MIT, then I realized 2 things:

I have no money!
My nearby state school (UofMinnesota Twin Cities) was just as well "rated" as MIT for my major

I sent an application in to MIT back when I was applying to colleges just to give the admission people a little chuckle.

Congrats though.
