Any issues using the Mitsumi FA404 Floppy Drive/Flash Reader as it is a USB based device as opposed to a standard floppy drive interface (such as Bios updates, other issues) ?

Anyone have pins missing from the bottom row of the floppy connector on their mitsumi combo drive?

Floppy drives do have one pin missing in case the cable is keyed (has the matching hole plugged). If you put a keyed cable on upside-down too vigorously, you can push a pin back into the connector or squash them down. I have pulled pins back out with a good pair of fine-nosed pliers - squashed ones are another story...
SamK,
Welcome to the AT forums. The Siig is a repackaged Mitsumi as is the Ultra (AFAIK, Mitsumi and YE are the only ones making this type of device). If you had read the YE Data page, you'd know that it comes with both color bezels. I'd still go with YE as I stated above. I would not buy anything from T-D nor any product packaged by them (Ultra stuff) - you've been warned.
CPUDesigner,
I'm glad you are enjoying your YE Data.

Hey Pens,
I edited my post. One would expect that of mitsumi - a thousandth of a cent here, a hunredth of a cent there, pretty soon it adds up to real money...
Here is a pic of the rear of the latest YE Data: http://www.yedata.co.jp/image/Products/Photo/internal7in1/Rear(Big).jpg - all connector pins present and accounted for...

Yes, both the Mitsumi and YE have been updated. The current YE Data model is the 8V07 Drive 3. The earlier version is the 8V07 Drive 2 (seen on the label in the pic of the Adaptec repack on their site - look at the enlarged pic and you can read the label on the top). You can see the differences in the pix you can find using Altavista > images et al.

Welcome to the ATF if I hadn't caught you before.
I think the YE Data one is more reliable if you use your floppy drive a lot. It's also sold under the Adaptec name (Provantage.com carries both last I knew. Mitsumi floppy drives are quite unreliable in my experience. These also use both the standard floppy cable and a USB cable.
