Wow, who woulda thunk Perez would do THAT... and beat Penny too. I thought baseball was all about percentages. I suck.

Good win this afternoon and El Duque was very strong. Milledge has big time issues tracking balls and I hope he puts extra work into his fielding.


Very scary 9th seeing Chef Heilman coming in for the save. Looks like Billy Wagner has a dead arm and needs some time off but I think we have all figure this was the case since he hasn't thrown 97mph fastballs consistently for awhile.

Mets go for the sweep tomorrow night versus David Wells who pitched great against the Mets earlier this season.

Nice collapse we are seeing Mets fans. The Mets are playing lifeless, lackluster baseball and the Phillies are showcasing life, the desire to win and pure energy. Willie puts in a pathetic lineup today so it shows how much he wants the game while Manuel puts in his regulars.


I would go on a rant on how the Mets never brush back Burrell but I won't. If they want to be wusses and not pitch in to him then so be it. The bullpen is garbage, Reyes is having a very underwhelming season and hasn't done a damn thing this series.


With the Braves shuffling their rotation to put Smoltz and Hudson against the Mets I think we will see the end of the Mets in first place. You know what?? I don't really care. If the Mets don't show up to play good quality baseball then why should I?

Very embarrassing for the Mets.

ok Mets fans. We are seeing what could be a hideous collapse here and my lord..things are about to get really nasty in Atlanta. Willie was pretty desperate to get a win and he puts Billy Wagner in for a two inning save and he couldn't get it done. He totally fell asleep as Jason Werth stole second and third and that was totally embarrassing.


The Mets haven't played consistently this season (4 game winning streak was the longest streak they've had) and with that bullpen its going to be very hard. Jose Reyes was just about nonexistent this series and when he does hit the ball its a pop up.

Not really sure what I can say. I just hope the Mets can wake up. Good job by the Phillies who totally outplayed the Mets and showed the NL that they want it all. I sure do wish they would brush back Pat Burrell for once. Jeez..what a mega met killer! I had enough of him for a lifetime!

The mets bullpen cant be anyworse then ours (the phils). But this was a big series for us espically after what happened with the padres and dodgers.

I hate the Yankees and the Mets equally, but are you really trying to talk sh!t to a Yankees fan? There really is only 1 NY team, Mets don't even compare to the Yankees.

sweeping the Braves at Turner, holding them to 4 runs over the 3 games.
Philles drop 2 against the Fish so are 4 games back again

Highlight of weekend for me was to see Pelfrey pitch well and finally get that W.

Yea, nice job by the Mets in Atlanta. Guess being embarrassed in Philly was that kick in the ass they needed. I'm also very happy for Pelfrey as he looked like a different pitcher. I'm also happy for Maine and his good start. How about Feliciano on Saturday?? That was vintage Felly! Wagner still scares me to death. Not sure whats up with him besides him being tired.


Today Pedro Martinez makes his season debut in the Great American Bandbox. My expectations are pretty much nonexistent. If he does well (5IP, 3 ER or less) then great..but if he gets destroyed its not a big deal. Hope for the best with Petey especially in that launching pad.
