Mets this year or Yankees getting swept after a 3-0 playoff series lead.

So, any of you Mets fans rooting for the Phillies? I'm as diehard as they come, but I can still respect the fact that the Phillies worked hard to win the division (with a lot of help from the Mets, mind you)

Also, am I the only one that gets pissed when Willie says stuff like "I've been in this situation before..." I mean come on Willie, this is on the the worst collapses in history and hell, you're a friggin' manager now! You're not in the same situation!

I respect what they did, but I would never be able to bring myself to root for the phillies.. I'm all about the Rockies, Padres or DBacks.

yeah I really get annoyed with Willie's comments also, I am surprised the NY media lets him get away with that

Trust me... it hurts a lot more when they make a cinderella run and fall 1 win short...

Better to end the pain now... but the loss of even some playoff excitement really stings!

so I am not quite over this season yet, still haven't put my Mets hat back on or worn a Mets shirt, but reality is starting to sink in that it is the offseason now and its time to start thinking about next year. Rumors are going around that we might bring in ARod. I don't know what to think about that, on one hand how can you not want the best player in the game on your team. On the other hand 1) offense is not our problem, 2) I don't think we need another player who shrinks away at the end of the season. 3) we have no one place to play him, 4) he can't pitch out of the bullpen

IF we do sign him I would say move Wright to firstbase. I know Delgado still has a year left, but he is on the way out and we have to think about the long run.

anyone have other thoughts?

hahaha, as a yanks fan, u can take that sell out Arod. he was never a true yankee, all he cares about is $$$.

but in all seriousness, if you put him in 1st, there where's delgado going to play, unless you trade him?
but reyes, wright, arod, castillo(?), wow what an infield.
then you have beltran and a couple of prospects.
too bad you have no pitching, HAHAHAH.

There is a good chance the Sox will take a pass on Schilling. In that case, the Mets need him. He's the kind of guy that will make everyone in the rotation better. He's also a good fix considering the Mets wouldn't need to strip their already bare farm system.

The Mets need pitching. Schilling wants a one year deal for around $12 - $14 million. How could you pass that up?

Adding Rickey Henderson as a coach on a young team is the stupidest move the Mets have ever made.
And they have made some really stupid moves over the years.
Henderson was poison on every team he played for.

Looks like Santana and Haren are out of reach, which leaves Bedard as primary target.
Hopefully Omar does not blow his load in getting just one guy.
