I know you all love baseball and have just been waiting for someone to start a thread about the MLB playoffs.

Twins lose the first game of the playoffs. Twins now own a 17 game playoff losing streak. White Sox down the Athletics. Discuss.

Braves beat Cincinnati 1-0. I got old(er) watching this one. Took them 13 innings.

The A's tried really hard to blow the game in the end. The A's manager Bob Melvin really makes some questionable moves in the playoffs year after year.

The Astros aren't the cheating juggernauts of yesteryear, but I don't like the A's chances if it even gets that far.
And how the fuck were the Astros the #6 seed, with the worst qualifying record? Baffling.

The older I get the less interesting I find the NBA. The last decade has basically been LeBron vs some other team. Too easy to consolidate power in the NBA with just a few players.

what baseball? there is no more baseball. Baseball dissolved completely after last season, when the DH was instituted in the only remaining baseball league.

Anyone else watching? LCS has been mostly one-sided but Dodgers and Astros avoid elimination the last two games.

I've watched all the Braves games. They had a perfect post season record until yesterday's game with the Dodgers. 15-3 win for Dodgers. 11-0 after the first inning! Hopefully the Braves can shake that off today and get back to winning.

I wish the Braves best of luck. Nice to see a mid-market team make the WS but I wouldn't mind a Dodgers-Astros WS because the drama would be palpable given the cheating scandal.

What I would like to see:
1. Astros-Dodgers
2. Rays-Braves
3. Rays-Dodgers
4. Astros-Braves

Braves take a 3 games to 1 lead over the Dodgers with a 10-2 win. Dodgers had me worried in the 7th when they had the bases loaded twice, but they got only 1 run out of it.

All I could think while watching was that utter lack of clutch-hitting by LA reminded me of the Mets.




I was also trying to come up with a way for BOTH teams to lose!

Down 3-1, the Dodgers win three straight, and a crazy Game 7 to head to the World Series. What an intense series. At least the Trashtros got eliminated. This World Series sounds like a hell of a pitching matchup.

As a huge Dodgers fan, I can relate to the pain; but obviously thrilled the team is moving on. At the same time, I really do feel for Georgia sports fans. 28-3 Superbowl, and the fact that before this series, the record of teams up by 2-0 in the NLCS was... 28-3. I wish that stat was made up, but it's not.

I was paying attention but when the best thing you can say about the teams involved is "I hate that one a bit less" it's tough to get all that worked up!

Fwiw glad it was LA instead of the Yankee's.
