Well, Francona has already announced that Kluber will get 3 starts, assuming the series goes to game 7. They do need to win a non-Kluber game, of course, and could probably do so with great bullpen play in one of those games...but the pen was worked pretty hard last night and really needs a break in game 3, if possible.
But that sort of argument assumes the Indians and their pitching is somehow inept and/or that the Cubs hitting is unstoppable. None of that is really true and honestly--so little of this stuff ever really matters in the playoffs. Games are played so differently after the regular season is over.
Cubs probably need to perform under the assumption that they can't let themselves play from behind. Would it be outside the realm of possibility that we see some Kluber appearances in middle relief to maintain a 2-3 run lead from the 5th inning on, possibly in back-to-back games? That would be pretty awesome to see, especially it it works...and I say this wanting to see the Cubs win it.
