My gold starter was Jim Palmer; it took me a handful of games to get his 40k's, and my reward was...Tony Perez. :/

I never figured out conquest in MLB 16, but my first run through this year, I've taken over the entire western half of the US and am making my way through the Central Divisions now. 3

My pain point right now is trying to get 2 doubles with Dave Winfield. I can hit with him, but it's all singles and one home run. I can't advance the Padres team epic without those doubles.

I'm doing the central areas first. They seem to be harder than the west, just because of the density of strongholds. I've been hammering away at TEX and MIL and PIT, which let SEA run through the west itself, so it owns basically everything west of me but the LAA stronghold and what Arizona owns in the southwest. I'm probably playing this quite inefficiently, but I'm enjoying it.

You're going a difficult route, it seems. I just took over the white sox last night in the few minutes I had to play, and I finally hit a double with Dave Winfield! One more to go to advance the Padres team epic.

I finally, FINALLY, hit 2 doubles with Dave Winfield! I haven't advanced anything or opened / redeemed any more conquest rewards as the last conquest game I played last night was a 4 inning win over another one of the Blue Jays strongholds that went to queue and then the servers went down.

During the downtime, I tried Retro Mode, and man, that mode is useless, to me anyways. I was disappointed that the servers died during the free time I had carved out to play, but I'll have time saturday, and hopefully I'll be able to complete conquest.

I finished the map in conquest some time ago. Still have a couple of the gold missions to complete but I am just letting those happen "naturally" as I play other modes.
Been playing team epics and trying to knock those out as well though the level 3s or whichever require specific stats by players are driving me nuts. Stupid Wille McCovey. Hits line drives but never HRs!

Pretty disappointing that so many missions and objectives require Events and Ranked games etc. I get that they want people to play more modes, but I can't do them all, and honestly, I'm not very good player so playing ranked etc is hard as I don't do well. Yet I want to do those missions too!

Yeah, I'm disappointed that some of the Griffey and even Chris Archer tasks are BR / Ranked games or Events. I don't play any of those modes...

Yeah -- it's really a bummer they force certain modes. Chipper mission is the same thing. Most the "long game" missions/programs require ranked/BR/Event.
Let's not forget too that Events aren't always available. There are tons of missions that require event games/stats and there hasn't been an Even for a while now so you can't even TRY to complete those if you wanted.
