I've played just a bit of it; have my RTTS player started and boy, the progression to The Show seems like it's going to take forever! I went with The Wizard archetype (Ozzie, et al) and my stats at the plate are, to put it lightly, subpar.
I also started Diamond Dynasty and have played 3 games in Battle Royal (winning 1 by forfeit and 1 by hitting 2 solo shots in the top of the 6th and holding off my opponent in the bottom half). Gameplay feels pretty good so far; I can't say yet whether it feels better than 17. I do the Intro vid for 17 was better than this years, but this year's video is fun.
I rented the game... the crowd audio is a step back. Defense feels tighter and responsive compared to last year. They have made the cards and stub system nearly impossible to grind out IMO. That's my biggest complaint.
More of a side grade than upgrade too me.
LOL what? The crowd dynamics have been significantly upgraded. Hell they did a whole tiwtch stream on it. That being said, I couldn't care less about it.
As for defense... I dunno what game you played, but it wasn't The Show '18. There has been SIGNIFICANT issues with fielding this year. They've already done some patching and it's still atrocious. There's been countless ridiculous videos posted of horrible defense AI, animations and clipping.
as for the DD grind - it's real. I don't mind it though. It's a 12 month game in my book. The best cards should take a while to get and not fall into you lap. I get why some people hate it though.
I didn't have any glitches with fielding, it felt like the gravitational pull around the ball marker wasn't as strong and making a diving stop felt more natural and fluent. I only played for 2 nights. The crowd comments sound very fake and read from a script.

I sold it and figured the Xbox had better/more games so I went with that. I hardly ever console mind you, it's basically to keep my nephews quiet during the holidays at my house. It hardly gets used now. This thread is making me want to sell my Xbox and get another PS.

He's available in multiple modes to play with. In Diamond Dynasty (similar to Madden Ultimate Team if you're familiar) you get his Veteran card and through lots of game play and grinding you can earn different versions of his card to play with.
lol yes. The PS3 was the last Sony console I had.
Do you have the VR PS4? Just wondered if that's usable for The Show.
