Both of them must have shit ass bullpens is all I can say - My jaw dropped with how much the Astros kept him in after so many runs.

Dodgers have a rather historic bullpen. Come on, weren't you watching them shutout the Cubs for 23+ straight innings? lol

the whole series is just crazy. I have been glued to it. There are so many good batters on both teams. Why did they take the closer for dodgers out on game 2 just because he gave 2 runs. As soon as they took him out houston kept scoring and eventually wins. I want houston to win but I am rooting for the dodgers too.

I'm surprised the Astros didn't go for the 2 point conversion to tie when they had the chance. And the Dodgers going for it on 4th and 1 instead of taking the field goal to make it a two score game was just suicide.

No, not watching. DNGAF.

Americans havent cared about baseball for decades.

The season gets longer and longer but the attendance gets lower. They push further into the football season each year and lose out to football. The fucking preseason is more popular than baseballs playoffs.
Wat...

The season including playoffs has been as long as it is since at least the wildcard game era, if you want to be nit picky about a couple of days... 162 games since the 60s.

This has been a great series. I'm not a fan of either team but the games have been so good I've been watching. It's interesting to see 2 teams that have gotten to this point in completely opposite ways, Houston tanked for several years and sold off every player who was worth anything and just went for high draft picks and prospects. Meanwhile the dodgers just went full Yankees and bought every player they could get their hands on. Similar to the Yankees of the 90's they also made some great draft picks mixed in as well.

Last night was crazy. I've seen lower scoring NFL games.

LA pitching not impressive except for hill and kershaw. The japanese pitchers are just a big dissapointment. Houston is no different. Just wonder if the batters are just that good.

These are definitely 2 of the best lineups baseball has seen in quite a while, but there is also a lot of talk about juiced/smooth balls that are making the balls fly farther and sliders cut less.

It's been an INCREDIBLE series. Not sure who i want to win. Just wish Kershaw would have done better last night. Greatest pitcher of this generation and he's always going to have naysayers due to the post season.
Both teams are so young and so incredibly fun to watch.

Dodgers bullpen has been incredible all season long. Astros not a shabby pen, but Dodgers' has been outstanding. Problem is they are overused now. And relying on a bullpen in a best of 7 series has it's draw backs. Good hitters (who the Astros have tons of) end up seeing the same pitchers in consecutive days and can adjust/learn. Not to mention relievers usually have 1-2 pitches, unlike a starter so the arrows in their quivers are easier to figure out and hit.

I guess it back fired when dodgers manager was trying to stay ahead of game 2 and hold the astros down. He brought the closer out early and subsequently took him out. I see astros winning this series and it will be a miracle for dodgers to win. I also wonder if the balls are juiced because of the home run derby thats going on. I will leave that investigation to the experts. Changing pitchers frequently is not always a good strategy with good batters. The first pitches from a fresh pitcher is almost always easy to hit .

There's complaints (from both teams) about the WS balls not being "juiced" but being slicker and harder for a pitcher to get a good bite on. Sliders have been virtually noneffective at this point (hello Yu Darvish).
The relying on the bullpen heavily came into vogue the past few years and has generally proven to work... except this year. The pens are just getting crushed on both teams.

All this stuff not withstanding, it's been an INCREDIBLY entertaining WS. In fact the ratings beat SNF last night it seems.

This series has been an emotional roller coaster.

I'm not only rooting for the 'Stros due to living greater Houston area/being in Texas all my life, but also because I love a good underdog victory. Small market/budget team vs. an MLB Juggernaut. Victory would be sweet.

The balls are juiced, guys (in that it's smoother). Stop questioning whether it is or not. It's been confirmed by other teams in the postseason, by both the dodgers & Astros and more importantly the pitchers themselves. Only people who are denying are MLB officials themselves, diverting the blame to pregame rubbing mud being the differentiator.

Did you just claim that Houston is a "small market" team? Now their their budget is 18th in the league which is impressive, but I wouldn't call it "budget" at $111M+

Just to show how juiced MLB balls in general are juiced, I have a somewhat fun story....

Couple years back, my son was trying out for a traveling baseball team. The team was organized by an MLB employee so for the tryouts, they had actual MLB baseballs (he just took some boxes from his office).
Well, sufficed to say, the kids were MASHING the baseball. My son, who really has never been a power hitter due to his stature, but can always square up a ball consistently, but 6 of 8 swings over the fence. Another kid we know who is a power hitter, consistently put his HRs during tryouts into the freeway (50ft+ beyond the HR fence). It was like they were hitting tennis balls.

Additional fun fact - first practice the coach showed up with more MLB balls. Though he "accidentally" grabbed a few boxes of balls that were autographed by a recently traded closer

I’m still mad the Cubs couldn’t figure out to not swing and let Jansen walk them.(instead of swinging at all high cheese)
The Astros finally let the walks kill Jansen.
