Try Panda black licorice sometime, it's much better than Twizzlers and American. The raspberry bites are also worth consuming.

Licorice candy is generally disgusting. The quality varies a lot tending more towards fakiness. As a child, I occasionally got "licorice root" which was like an actual root or tree branch with thin bark covering a dry yellow fiber to be gnawed on for the flavor flav which essentially required your own saliva to extract. Yum?

I love black licorice and I sample different brands whenever possible. I got in on the amazon deal for 9 pounds of premium black licorice for 27 bucks and I've been eating that for a while. Normally I can sit there and eat half a bag of black twizzlers but this stuff is so rich that I can only eat a few pieces at a time. Its Tubi Tire Tread black licorice in case anyone is curious. I highly recommend it.

IIRC, raspberry bites don't contain licorice, though. Only black licorice does.
