It may be an eternity but it's handled everything thrown against it pretty fine so far. Black Prophecy is the only game which has given it hell, even at the lowest of settings.

Maybe my HD4870 needs changing too

Meh, I agree, I've really not had any issues running anything at 1920x1080 on this old beaten down system. If anything I just dont max the settings...I guess since I'm old and used to VGA, it doesn't bother me that much as long as I get decent frame rates.

I was actually going to make a new SB system, but with the recall I started a Virtual Pinball Cabinet project instead...the system I'm using for that rapes my actual gaming system lol.

I'll try looking at that tonight, I was in the main starting system with 30-60 ships around and it didn't seem to affect me. It wasn't until I went out to do missions that I noticed the lag with only 10-15 ships, but I could spin the ship view around no problem (definitely was lag).

the rendering engine is pretty poorly written

I saw someone the other day gain 20 fps by lowering bloom. Bloom!

Humans evolved in different ways, formed different races (normal humans, Genides and Tyi). They started multiple wars etc... You're a normal human who through the course of the prologue becomes one of the two races to save your life.

Freelancer-style controls with minor RPG elements and no trading.
