Last night was pretty fun. I hit up alot of rift events too but had to get to bed before I could complete any of the zone quests . Probably dumped 20-30g on the ressurection/medic process!

Just had another zone invasion where the rift monsters hit the town again. This time they somehow managed to group up into like a pack of 15 and zerged the town, it fell in hilarious fashion. Even level capped people were getting mowed down by level 15 zerg groups, great fun.

Okay... I'm sucked in now

Finally got to run an instance last night just minutes after re-speccing my character to Bard / Night Blade / Ranger. Pretty awesome.. I kept up a pretty good rate of healing and buffs through out and we only wiped once.

So basically I have Role A which is a classic rogue type (assassin/blade dancer/rift stalker ) and then Role B which is pretty much a hunter from WOW that can do heals and buffs haha.

My dps is very strong w\ the bard role. I may stick w\ it as my main role.

I transferred from Estrael back to Faeblight in the 5-minute window that the servers were up. If there are any ATers left playing on the Defiant side there, look me up and we can run some experts or something. I'm also going to be looking for a guild over the next few days, once I get myself settled with new soul talent builds and whatnot.

I'm gonna start a new character there today...names Moridzai (Probably a Lock/something/something.

See you there if I can last past level 15...hahah!

There's always the Faeblight server, but be aware that it is a role-playing server. If you don't RP its no big deal; just make sure your character name is nothing that would sound ridiculous in-game (no internet memes or RL references) and that you don't plan to grief the people who are RPing.

In terms of guilds, Faeblight has plenty of more casually oriented guilds (again, it's an RP server so tends to be more laid back in general) that would work well for a new player. I would specifically recommend Elysium Order, a guild I was member of for a while. The leadership and members are nice people, there are quite a few leveling players and new 50s around, and the guild is large enough that people are online at just about all hours.

I am in a guild called Suspiria, which is progression raiding focused and definitely hardcore compared to most guilds on Faeblight. We tend to be most active at night (6PM to 9PM server, or 8PM to 11PM Central time). Without a pretty well-geared 50 (or being F&F of a raiding member) I don't think you'd have much fun - not that we aren't friendly but most of what we do together is end-game content.

Thanks for the info, my current server is an RP server. The only guild I interacted with didn't allow cussing in chat. I didn't get that, and was promptly kicked out. My argument is that there are filters if you don't want to see naughty words on your screen. Regardless, I find RP servers best as it tends to weed out most of the weakest and disinterested players.

I'm definitely the casual type as I haven't touched the game in nearly 2 days. To some that may seem like a lifetime, to me I've just got more important things going on *shrug*.

I'm having a good amount of fun with the game. Having only played WOW for about 6 months a few years ago and no other MMO's, I'd have to say it's a very close WOW clone ( obviously ). Which isn't a bad thing.

They obviously did something right w\ the game design. A game you never finish? Great idea. I'm at about 150 hours gameplay for my initial $10 and this months $15, which as far as money is concerned beats out any other $50-60 new release I could pick up and finish in 20 hours or less.

Did most people already quit playing though?

I quit playing a few months ago. got to 50, did a bunch of the dungeons and it just felt like a grind. nothing new to do and even worse, people in my guild weren't logging in so no one to play with.

Same here, hit 50, played a few days and didn't resub. The game and pvp was a ton of fun under level 50. Once you hit 50, then it's your typical MMO where it's a major grind that gets boring after a while. Having played WoW for a while helped me identify when a MMO will become a boring grind at level cap.

played for around 4 mouths and HK was out. killed the 1st three bosses and then left the game because it was working pretty nasty on my old PC
TBH i would recommend it to any player that has some free time and likes to spend it in MMORPGs

But i want something new and refreshing ...
Is there alot of players in realms like wow ?
will i have a problem finding groups or help or guild ... etc ?

And is it that "Good" like wow ? with the support and addons and help functions like raid and instances finder etc ... ?

im not sure .......

If your like me beeing a wow player ... did u regret leaving wow ? consedring the community and gameplay?

Some people seem to prefer WoW and some prefer Rift. I think WoW is the better game overall, more 'character' to it, more diversity, better polish.

But Rift has things to draw you in. It's fun too. It's a bit more casual friendly I'd say.

I don't think Rift has or needs the add-on support WoW has. It has a good number of people, you can find a guild, though they seem to fall apart quite a bit.

I'd say give it a try for variety.

I'm looking forward to update 1.6 that is due out next week. It includes a new level 50 zone, Ember Island, so some who got bored at 50 may want to have a look.

I loved it for a few months but then I hit max level and did all the instances for the most part and was just running them over and over. Eventually fewer and fewer people on the guild were logging in when i was logged in so I quit.

Same thing happened to me. I couldn't decide if i wanted to be a primary tank, dps, or healer with my cleric so i kept grabbing separate pieces of T2. I eventually became tired of grinding plaques because the variety of T2 dungeons is lacking.

I think they messed up when they made it take more plaques to get your gear.

Probably did it to try to keep people playing longer but it only pissed off the less hardcore players, like me and most of my guild.

Game was really easy to level up too.

I'm still playing Rift and enjoying it. I wonder if population will die down a bit now that Skyrim is out.
