"I'm sorry to say but it's almost the same game as it was this time last year, just with more tanks and more maps to kill them on. "

Pretty much spot on. I like the game though despite problems. It will be one I'd keep coming back to. Where else can you play in tanks like this? They added a suggestion section in the forums. Now this worries me. If they go start implementing things players ask for like, mines, offshore artillery, infantry with bazookas (panzerfaust), air support, etc., Then this game will go to shit real fast. I've seen too many games over the years destroyed by devs trying to add too many things and unable to balance it all properly. I hope this doesn't happen with WoT.

I'd be happier if they just make this game dual core compatible. I mean, welcome to 5 years ago...

Got the KV and grinded up to the 152. I played 4 game with it, failing to hit anything and spending most of the time waiting for a reload. The 122 is at least useable. About 10K away from the KV-3. Thought I would keep the KV like I did the MarderII. But I am being sent up to the big leagues a solid 75% of the time where I can hit people for 100-200 damage while being basically one shot. So I will sell the KV and move on.

I just recently got the 107mm, and I quite like it. I haven't tried the 152mm, but I did grind my way up to the 107mm with the 122mm. Decent accuracy, reload rate, and does a pretty good job penetrating and damaging even the higher tiers.

At the very least you may want to keep the KV until the Russian heavy patch hits, as you will get a free KV-2 and garage slot.

Playing with the 152 makes you very careful with your aim. I used it on the KV, on the SU-152 and I have some of the most accurate games with both tanks. After so many games with the 152, I can almost feel like I know where the shell was going to hit/land, so I started sniping with it. Longest hits were 2 600+ meter hits on campinova. One killed a KV, one cripped a lowe. Good times.

The biggest plus for the 152 is that if you're good with it, you can be killing IS-4s, E-75s, etc. It takes 15-20% off every hit. Once I actually penetrated the top of a KV-5 and took off 50% of its health.

i would get the 107 and keep the kv, it makes good money and depending on matchmaker, you can be god or a speedbump, and like others said if you derp you can damage all higher tiers. just play behind all your teams higher tiers and pop out to derp.

also free slot for keeping it thru the russian patch

Got the 120mm for the T34 last  night. Its really just a marginal improvement. Reduced rate of fire offsets the slightly increased damage. Pen is improved.

Really debating at this point if its worth the grind to the T30.

Last week I elited my KV, I'm still not sure whether to be proud or ashamed of that...

Anyway, get the 107 before the KV3, for three big reasons. First, the russian heavy line doesn't get guns that are markedly better than the KV's 107 until the IS3, so it is great practice for the rest of the game. Second, you can use (and will need) the 107 on the KV3. Lastly, the 107 is just an incredible weapon at tier 5.

It is true that the matchmaker is garbage and you will see E75s in your KV but if you know where to shoot you can do reliable damage to almost anything with the 107, even if you have to do it from the bushes behind the main push. And that is good, because like I said russian guns don't get a lot better for a while. At t6 there is a minor upgrade from 167 to 175 penetration, but that is as good as it gets until you hit tier 8.

I wouldn't exactly call it garbage(whats the next step up from garbage?) but, yeah, it has problems much of the time. The game is still fun despite its flaw. No PC game is perfect.

I have the slots, so I will keep the KV for the russian patch. Seems like the grind is getting a little better. For whatever reason even in losses I am getting 200-300 experience. I will probably grab the 107 then since I will need it for the KV-3. May as well enjoy that gun in Tier 5 games.

I played the KV a lot and generally really liked it for the reasons above. The 107 is a beast for tier 5 and as for the higher tier rounds - if you can get to the sides/rear of the enemy you will make a ton of money and XP off the 107. Some of the best games I have in had the entire game were in the KV where I would sit back and blast KT, Lowes, T32s, T34s, IS3s from the side/back

Got my Maus yesterday. Not sure what to think about it. It's very tough to kill, but there's not a lot to do with it. Everything and everyone will shoot at you, which is fair. I find myself winning a lot just by soaking up everyone's fire but not doing much damage myself. So great win% but lousy experience.

I can't see running this in pubs too much, like my other T10 stuff. Seems like T8 and some T9s are the sweet spot for random games.

working as intended, which is why i don't play that f'ing game any more.

i don't think its the MM as much as it is all the people who bought lowes and fucked up the MM due to all the tier 8's. with all those lowes they should just have 15v15 lowe battles LOL

you mean type 59s. Lowes are easy kills if you know how to fight it but type 59s destroy all mediums tier 8 and below. Hell, you can easily pen a lowe in a KV.

i'm debating on buying a type 59, it's making a lot of credits from what i've read. it would be nice to get rid of my tier 5's that i use to grind credits with now

If you have a Type 59 you don't really need anything else as far as making creds goes. Same can be said with the Lowe. If you have a Type 59 and a Lowe, like myself, you can make creds at a even more crazy pace. Just switching on and off between the two in battles rakes in huge amounts of creds really fast. Heck, either of them makes good money for just showing up on the battlefield. I don't even have to hit anything. It doesn't even have to make a kill. Just damage. Of course I do try to kill because the more tanks I hit the more they make. That plus I try to help the team win. Which makes me even more creds. LOL

I only play my mediums now because I like the tanks for their play and not because I need them to help make creds for my higher tier tanks. If you do get a Type 59 or a Lowe, or both, its probably best to keep a medium or two just in case they ever nerf the money making these two tanks make. Which I doubt they'll do but you never know.

The type 59 has less of an upkeep than a Lowe and makes a crapton of credits. Plus it has a favorable matchmaker status. While other medium tier 8's gets tossed into higher tier battles, the 59 can reign supreme.

It is not that the Lowe or Type 59 are amazing, it is that the MM treats these tanks as a half tier below than what they are.

i have a t54 and an e50 right now as far as meds go. i can't wait to get rid of the kv-3, that thing is a pos. i'm keeping my kv and kv-3 right now for the free slots. my main moneymakers are the derp kv and the su-85. would be nice to free up those slots so i can get my s-51 arty and start my grind for the maus from the tiger P.

The lowe does? It gets tossed in normal places from what I can tell. When I was in my IS3 I'd frankly be at the top, and same with the lowe. Occasionally I have to fight IS-7s and mice, but I don't think it's out of place. The Type-59s are rated lower than they should be though.

Took the advice in this thread and got the 107 on the KV before moving to the KV3. Finally a gun that can let me reliably penetrate higher tier tanks and make me a god among mortals in tier 5 and lower games

I have no idea if hotlinking will work, but here is the tier and matchmaking chart:
Here

So a typical tier 8 heavy will play in MM 9-12, a typical tier 8 medium will play in MM 9-11.

The Lowe/M6ablahblah plays in a tighter band of MM 9-11 and the Type 59 in 9-10. The KV5 is even tighter in the 9-10 band than the Lowe.

This means that the 59 and KV5 will NEVER play against tier 10 heavies (unless platooning). The Lowe and M6 *might* get tossed into those games.
