Correct me if I'm wrong, but mm 9-12 means you'll be tossed in tier 9 - 12 battles. Since tank tiers only go up to 10 all this means is the lowe's not going to face GW tiger type Es and obj 261s (which are ranked 11 and 12?).

So while the lowe has a better spread, it doesn't mean jack because it's still going to face off against maus and t10 heavies as well as T-54/E-50s. Type 59 does have a better spread but that's never been questioned.

and KV-5 not fighting tier 10s is a good thing. Don't they have a 107?

You have to look at the percentages. Only 1/3 of the time will a Lowe or M6 be in a tier 11 MM battle. Of that only 1/3 of the tier 10's will be placed in the same tier 11 battle. Yes there are exceptions (when the MM timer runs out at the higher levels and crap is thrown in that meets criteria). So that is why the tighter bands on the premiums are great. Yes you might get one or two tier 10 heavies but you probably won't get 3 or 4!

Pretty much spot on. I like the game though despite problems. It will be one I'd keep coming back to. Where else can you play in tanks like this?

Aces High II, which has much more realistic armor warfare actually, when it comes to... well... everything I can think of. Especially engagement ranges!


Just thought I'd pop in to say that the VK2801 is probably my favorite tank now, and is a stone cold invisible butcher with its 105mm derp gun.

Nerf type 59's! This is just stupid. As a tier 6 or tier 7 medium, I shouldn't bounce 80% or more of my shots against their side or rear armor. The damned reticle shows green, which supposedly indicates a decent chance of penetrating. I don't bounce nearly this many shots against other tier 8 mediums or Lowes with a green reticle.

Lesson learned - when they release a new tank that costs real money - paying money will get you superpowers.

Edit: I just got 4 hits on another type 59 in my T20 - 3 from the front with a total of 11 damage (3 reported as penetrating, 2 at zero damage, and one at 11 damage) and 1 from the front that bounced. In this fight at least the 59 was essentially immune from my fire from a tier 7 fully upgraded medium. Bad luck? This blows.

yea the type 59 destroys my t44 pretty easily, but it's a premium tank, what do you expect

Well, it wouldn't be worth the gold if it didn't perform well. Anyhow... had some good gaming this evening. Going out of town in the morning. Won't be able to play for a week. That is one less Type 59 on the battlefield you guys don't have to worry about. LOL

I want a Type 59 but would not pay the asking price for it. I mean, if it had been released at the same time as the Lowe then I'd have bought the Type 59 hands down.

I have to say that I don't find them to be much of a problem to anyone with a 200mm penetration or higher gun. My E-50 is lacking the top engine and is using 8.8cm L/71 and it doesn't have issues with them. Granted I'm talking Tier 9 Vs. Tier 8 Premium but in an unupgraded state, I'm pretty much like a healthier/slightly better armoured Panther II.

The reticle is just based off of armor values. Doesn't take into account slope (which the Type 59 has a lot of) or range (AP rounds lose energy and penetration ability with range).

Just don't even try for the front of the turret. It is just like the Lowe in that regard. It can also get ammo racked very easily if you hit the side/rear of the turret. For this reason when I drive mine, if I am facing multiple enemies I will do my best to keep my turret facing the active gun (ie the one that has not fired yet).

There has been plenty of analysis done on these tanks and it is not super or anything. I mentioned where it shines (the matchmaker tier), but that is about it.

Type 59s are extremely squishy, I eat them up with a Panther II. Just aim for the sides and the track area. They can't stand a chance against my Panther II.

It sucks until you get the 203. Yes reload time is a pain, but you can one shot anything tier 7 and below (more likely knock them down below half) and really put the hurt on the big boys as well. Plus you have the added benefit of being able to get silver AP rounds for it. In last stand mode (or TD on dorf or something), the AP rounds are truly all or nothing.

oh i have enough free xp right now to equip everything as soon as i buy it, it would just be a matter of getting the crew from 75% to 100% :\ from what i'm reading the crew is pretty bad until you get to 90% ish

My T34 is fully upgraded now. I'm in the long, long grind to the T30. But hopefully will be there in under a month. I'm sure I'll have to grind credits on the Lowe to buy it tho. I can profit with the T34 but it's a slow, slow credit earner. Don't think I've made even a million credits since I bought it, in 100+ battles.

I think the S51 is the first "fist of God" arty. Even if you have to grind the crew to get there... yeah. I watched one take 45% off of an E-100 today with 1 shot.

I knocked an e100 from 100% to 30% in final defense point blank AP mode. Yesterday on dorf I one shot a T34 as I was climbing the hill in my 212. My buddy conned the 34 into advancing to finish off his T32. Boom toast! Just don't fire the AP rounds at range as they will bounce off (AP penetration diminish the further you fire them).

In HE mode the 203 can basically 2 shot anything in the game except Mice. The 212 carries 40 rounds so I have 20 HE and 20 AP rounds for the giggles of it.

Further, if you can elite the tank quickly then the crew progression will be lightning. You will be damaging all sort of enemies every game and getting exp even on crappy games. Plus it is still a money maker due to the amount of carnage you inflict.

Do you see how big those freaking tracks are? It's a miracle if something hits your turret instead of the tracks.

the 3601 is not treating me well... getting constantly tossed into games where I'm fighting t95s and IS-4s is NOT fun. About the only thing I can do in those games is try to keep something tracked so arty/other big tanks can nail them.

Totally not true. The 3601 has a unique gun: the konisch. It shoots a gold round that is amazing. Yes you need to pay real money to use it. But if you run a 3601 with a konisch and gold ammo it is by far the most overpowered tank in the game by tier.
