Hey guys, what did you think about the quality of my video? I know we've discussed my insanity and my UI mods but how does the 1920x1080 res with 30 frames per second hold up?

Got some raw T28 footage now and thinking of putting up a montage of BOOM! shots.

I think it looks great. Watching it made me want to get a KT of my own. It just looked like a lot of fun.

A montage of T28 boom shots would be great. Do it!

Quality was good, if I could only load up more than 50% of it in the stinkin hotel internet...

Got any light/medium tank shenanigans?

Could get some Elite and Upgraded Patton videos up, though I stink!

Will see what I can do.

After getting the 90mm the M6 really starts to shine. I don't even have the upgraded engine for it, but it is actually a more capable tank than I think it gets credit for (or at least than I usually give it credit for).

I just had a great game with it, even though we lost. 8 kills, sniper, top gun, over 900exp.

I kind of wish I could keep it, but I don't have the space for it as I progress up the American heavy line. I'm about 5k exp from unlocking the T29, although I may need to do just a touch of credit grinding before buying the T29. Plus, it really does have penetration issues in tier 8 games. I've yet to find a spot I can pen on the front of a Type 59.

It's not as bad as its reputation, but it sure is an ugly beast. I don't think its worth keeping since an upgraded T29 is just so much more fun to play. If you want a U.S. tier 6 to keep around, try the E8 Sherman.

As promised: T28 Urban Combat Action

I have no idea how to get transitions in there so bear with my obvious lack of editing skiils.

You might notice that some little PzIII/IV pissed me off more than slightly but actually ended up causing no harm.

Stepped it up a notch, doing 1920x108 at 40 frames per second.

Looks good Elcs. Now I want a T28 too.

Anyway, I sold off the M6 for a T29. Not sure if I've just been lucky, or if the matchmaking is better for the T29 than the IS, but so far I've always been near the top, and often the top tank. I also expected I would lose money with the T29 when we lost and I didn't do too much, but I've yet to have a game where I didn't make a profit.

... Of course, so far I have a total of 4 games under my belt with it, so I can't really say anything for sure.

You were just bullying those kv3s... lol.

What are you using to shoot the vids? I'm thinking of trying to shoot some gameplay videos, gonna see if I will eventually land an impressive game that I can post online. Had a few amazing games in tiny tanks (pz38na, t-50, leopard, etc) that I wish I had captured on video though. And a few great ones in my t-44 when it wasn't exploding from ammo rack damage.

FRAPS. Comes out with huge files. If I told you that the ~10 minute KT raw footage was around 18 Gb (1920x1080 30fps) and that the Pershing fight which I've just had the pleasure of making came to around 30Gb (1920x1080 40fps) then you'll see we have some issues

I use VirtualDub to put it all together and the x264vfw codec to crunch the file size down by ~90% whilst retaining most of the quality. I am trying to work out how to do slow-motion parts in my movies. I've actually figured it out but I can't seem to fix the audio to match the video for that segment. Also as you can tell from my T28 video, I do not know how to put a smooth transition between two parts of a clip so it looks a bit awkward when you warp ahead some time.

If you'd like, I could host any movies you make on my YouTube channel with full credit where due. I just don't know how you'd mail across such files

gmail, obviously.

Chances are I'll have the resolution lower, we'll see how my free time shapes up first.

Man, the higher tier I go the more I hate arty. It really becomes a mission of simply avoiding arty at all times and not even worrying about the other tanks. Really having a bad run lately with my games and having arty problems.

Hiya Elcs. I wanted to wait until I got home to watch your vid before commenting. I watched it on the one at work too but my 28" is so much nicer to watch from. LOL. Your vid looks pretty good. I have seen much worse quality posted on you tube. I noticed how your ally was crowding you too much. I doubt it was intentional but he should have given you more room to back up. I back up a lot myself in fights and know how important it is for a player to have that room.

Sometimes I get someone behind my E-75. I mean right up against my butt. Using me as a shield. I don't mind it as long as they stay back some because I like to back up a lot in my fights. Sucks when I cant do that. It sucks even more when you tell them not to hug too close and they ignore you.

Anyway, keep the vids coming. I enjoy them.

I usually type a warning message the first time someone blocks me, especially if I'm in a very immobile heavy. The second and 3rd time the guy blocks me I kill him and move his carcass out of the way.

Exaggerating a bit, but if he's preventing me from backing up to dodge shots I will plant a shell or 2 in his tank. Only happened to me twice, and not so ironically both times they're tiny tanks in big matches that don't scout nor contribute.

As requested by PowerYoga, M26 Pershing Action.

This was a bit of a mixed match with great results. I've also unlocked the secret to making slo-mo work, however I cannot do it properly with the above video so you may find it on future works.

Yeah, yesterday in my T29 some little Pz4 (or 3/4, don't remember) was continually sitting right up against my ass. As we were the last remaining defenders of our flank, and there was a T29, Tiger(P), and a TD (JagdPz4, maybe) advancing on us, backing up would have been nice. Luckily stuck as I was we still held them long enough to get the cap.

So for my IS, I'm not sure if I should go for the engine before the turret/upgraded 122mm or after. As is I lose money in that tank if we lose (unless I do rather well for myself), or we win but I don't do much and shoot too much. I've been having less games like that, but they they still happen fairly regularly. Is it really worth shooting the 122mm with those 1k credit shells, or should I just get the engine to improve my 100mm playstyle, and then research the 122mm for the IS-3 before moving on?

I have the tank almost elited, working on my IS-3 now, but I got the guns first. I love the 122 and the upgraded one is a beast. I destroy people with it, a lot forget it reloads fairly quickly. The engines are really nice, but that gun will help you get more XP quicker by doing more damage.

With that engine though the tank sure is zippy for that peek a boo fighting that Russian tanks are good at up close.

I never had a problem with the first engine to tell you the truth. the IS is zippy enough on stock, but it really lacks the intimidation factor if it doesn't have the 122mm. The 2nd 122mm helps you reload faster so you can PAB better, you can pretty much 1 shot anything tier 4 and below and if you're careful with your shots you will do major damage.

You shouldn't be thinking "these shots are 1k shells", since if you want to make money you should be in a KV. You should be thinking about how to win, and if money is really that much of a concern you can always just get a premium account and be fine with money up till tier 10.

Every single tank after the IS is going to cost more and more and all their shells cost at least 1k ea. If you're stuck in the "i want to make money while getting exp and new tanks" mindset then you're gonna be sorely disappointed... unless you have a premium account. Then you can do both ez pz.

IIRC in beta I went for the gun first on the IS. Usually I prefer to get guns asap because the more damage I can do the grind is faster and easier. However, when playing a fast scout engine power is often more desirable because the guns generally don't do much damage.

Yeah, I suppose you are right. I just see my T29 hauling in pretty good credits with all but the worst games, at least with the 90mm. Hell, on a good game the IS can actually make a decent chunk of change with the 100mm. I was sort of hoping to go as far as possible before I needed to start grinding credits just to run my higher tiers.

Pro tip: Leopards and PZIII can't damage KVs in a respectable manner. true story.
