Thanks for all the tips on prem accts/tanks & gold guys

I think I'll get 6500 for now and play around with premium accts on weekends. Not counting SNES/N64 console games, I can probably count the number of games I paid more than $10-$15 for on one hand, lol. I used to do bargain bin/used & now wait for big steam sales. My computer isn't suited to gaming so I've never had a reason to buy new stuff.

But premium tanks are tempting. It'll be a while before I unlock & elite tier 8 tanks so certainly spending $ and being able to jump right in (+ epic credit earnings) does sound tempting, lol.

Finally got the Tiger last night. I moved my crew from the VK3601H. At 80% and the short 88 from the VK this tank isnt bad. Played 5 matches, survived 4, and avg 3 kills. It is also really nice to reliably have rounds bounce off my armor for once. Cant wait for the long 88 to see what this thing can really do!

The Tiger is well known as one of the squishiest heavies in the game. The Tiger P, on the other hand, can be a real pain in the ass even for t8 heavies.

I have heard this but in the 5 games played provided I angled my armor to about 30ish degrees from my target. It went bounce bounce. If I went head on, rounds went through it like hot knife through butter. Which makes sense as the Tigers armor is 0 slope for the most part.

i just got the tiger last night after grinding thru the tiger P, as i want to go down both e100 and maus lines and since i just finished the tiger P grind, figured i'd go thru that hell again instead of moving on to the 4502 A, then having to come back to the tiger.

so far i hate it as much as i hated the tiger p hahahah

I thought the tiger P is a much harder nut to crack than the tiger? Last time I tried I had trouble penetrating the front with the panther's 75L/100. That's at least 194~ penetration. If you angle it forget it... sometimes i bounce IS-4 rounds off the front as well. What's the major difference besides armor? I thought I saw them both mount the long 88...

Yeah, and really effective when used properly. Too bad about the frontal engine fires, though. When I run into enemy Lowes I almost feel bad for doing it to them.

The Tiger P is 200mm front armour with a couple of weakspots you will only hit at close range.

Aim for the turret. 120mm armour and doesn't often bounce. They are very irritating opponents, even when I had my KT and in my Lowe.

In case anyone was curious, I bought a block of gold today with PayPal and I did get the extra 10% gold. It took just seconds for it to show up on my garage screen once PP accepted the transaction. Whole process takes like a minute or two from start to finish. Happy Tanking!

Yeah definitely noticed the turret being more squishy. However it's a much smaller target at 400+ meters... and the mantlet seems somewhat bouncy as well. Getting orange indicators which means its probably around 200mm as well.

Decided to make a small purchase of my own and bought a T-127 tank.

Here's my video of the T-127. I wish I had recorded my first ever match in it... 6 kills and over 1k exp (after removing the triple bonus).

RU Test server feels okay. Graphical and atmospheric updates add a bit of life and richness back to the game.

Camo looks crap and expensive (25/50 gold per tank tier, or a lot of credits for 7/30 day camo paint).

Despite 200ms pings I found myself enjoying matches on the test server.

Good luck with the Tiger. If you play it smartly it's a very very good tank with limitations. I know when I see one though I hardly ever bounce. It's very squishy so you have to play smart. Fully upgraded it's a very capable tank with good acceleration and a very good gun.

That long 88 is used on the Panther II, a tier higher and against those opponents I've gotten a few 9 kill games. I think I only managed 7 or 8 with the Tiger but the game is very capable of killing anything.

Just never expect to go toe to toe with other heavies and come out of the fight well. Use your acceleration to reposition and out maneuver them and the tank will shine for you.

I'm currently trying to grind through my POS Tiger II to get the E75. I like my IS3 more than my Tiger II. :'(

What? That camo gold stuff sounds bad for the game, money to win.

Positive touches:

Better graphics, better FPS (Can't decipher the options but since it copied my data from the EU server, at the same settings it performs and looks better)
Better explosions, smoke effects and atmospheric touches. (sirens when you are capping or the enemy is capping, vocal response when your team has spotted the enemy wildlife sounds?)
Sloped armour feels a bit more bouncy after the normalisation work
UI: Hovering over an item shows the exp you require to be able to research it, light up icon when binocs/net are active, minimap pointing out Help! requests.
New maps - these seem fun so far but there's not much arty on test so this might change very quickly.
SPG tracers seem to be back in. Counterbatterying might be back

Bad things:
Sirens when you are capping (why warn me when we're winning?)
Horns: Terrible
Camo: well it's not a bad thing really, it's just overpriced and the patterns are god damn awful
Sloped armour buff: Making the Type 59 and T-54 (plus all heavily angled tanks) that bit harder to penetrate.

What? That camo gold stuff sounds bad for the game, money to win.

As far as I am aware it does not provide any in-game bonus. It seems to be a merely cosmetic change that everyone sees. Simply a pay-for skin.

It can be purchased (temporarily) for credits or permanently for gold. Non-transferrable.

You mean as opposed to the current system?

With the exception of Gold Ammo and Gold Consumables, all other niceties that can be purchased for gold are simply convenience or time saving items.

(Premium accounts earns credits/exp faster. Lowe/Type 59 earn credits faster than other tanks. Gold crew training trains the crew instantly.)

So you cannot really pay to win, you can only really pay for convenience.

I'm for any changes to arty that removes how ridiculously overpowered and game ruining they are. A game's entire goal shouldn't be to hide from those sorry POS things.

Do not want counterbatteries back in...might have to quit again.

You want to sit in one spot all match and plink shots off at anyone?

Counterbattery is a unique skill which very few SPG players actually ever used. Playing it now is pretty pathetic and you only require enough skill to be able to hit a target.

This is major plus for me.

agreed, now i can play arty again LOL. now they wont camp 1 spot the entire match waiting for a scout to light up a tank, they actually have to fire and scoot each shot or get countered
