It is amazing how bad the Tiger is even when upgraded. I didnt believe it was so piss poor but after about 70 battles. I dont know if I can fight through to the Tiger II.

just got my E100, will be using the stock gun until i earn enough XP.
gonna wait on a 1/2 price sale on modules before i get my rammer/vents/spall

FYI you can buy equipment in advance before you have the tank on sale and keep it in the depot waiting for the tank.

yup. Go to store and go under modules, and you'll see a bunch of stuff you can buy for your tanks. It's hard to figure out which module's for which tanks and which gun caliber is medium and which is large, but I think we have enough tanks on here to give you an idea if you need help.

The tiger wasn't that bad for me. It's squishy as hell based on your mm but you should be in a position where you can fire with impunity... provided your team doesn't expect you to lead the charge. The long 88 can penetrate everything up in tier 9... and I found myself hurting tier 10s on a flank. The tiger is VERY mobile despite its low top speed, so use that to your advantage. After the patch I've found a lot more bounces on them as well (sold mine before 7.0 so I can't attest) but I think that's a true statement in general.

One thing I've learned is you ABSOLUTELY need to protect your sides. There's ammo racks all over the sides and one penetrating hit could mean a broken rack. Also as with all german tanks... prone to fires and engine damage. Just remember you're a sniper, so work with the tanks on your team and let them light up stuff. I had a lot of fun in my tiger I, but the tiger 2 is hands down AMAZING. They're pretty intimidating even for tier 9s.

After playing the new French tanks up through tier 4, I can only imagine that the devs goal was to make the M3 Lee look pretty good in comparison. Except for the hugely OP tier 2 Hotchkiss, all of these tanks are terrible.

You're telling me... I'm on the D2 and whichever one comes after the H35 hotchkiss and I'm slamming my head into the keyboard. FFS, I can barely penetrate P3/As with the best gun.

Maybe they were trying to model the French in WWII?

I am trying to figure out where the free french sherman is on the tech tree. So far having a blast destroying these french tanks. I dont know how people can put up with them.

Only problem with the Hotchkiss is that it is too good. I played one game with it - stock - killed five tanks, won my double, and had enough experience to get every upgrade and the AMX 38. I had one game, one win, and never played it again.

Agreed. I played two games in it and I felt damn near invincible (slow as shit though).

Then I played the other French tanks and found that it is nearly impossible for me to kill anybody of equivalent tier - even if they stand still for 10 minutes with their ass facing me!

Really? I never had that feeling in my H35. Maybe enemies used gold ammo or something but I swear I was getting pen'd frontally constantly without being able to shoot back meaningfully.

For me, D2 was the "best" low tier french tank. Its gun lets it face-smash anything in its tier. And with some angling, you're pretty safe. I did a slow roll up the hill in El halouf (sp) once; it was hilarious. I got top gun & steel wall w/o even trying. AMX 40 is also a monster if no TDs/arty are present. Basically nothing can hit you. I LOVE hunting down B1s

BUT if those conditions aren't satisfied, then AMX 40 is a pile of shit. I want to get the hell out of this tank, but I don't want to waste free XP on a such a huge turd, haha. I have access to the B1 as well... I'll probably skip it completely if/when I go down that path b/c it's sooo awful.

edit: but still none of these tanks can hold a candle to my T-127. Man that thing is a beast! The Tetrarch is pretty fun too. Quick, no armor, solid gun (better than the T-127's gun, haha). And I can run both w/the same crew.

------------------
edit2: T-127 OP! OP! OP!
Victory!
Battle: Karelia Monday, January 09, 2012 6:03:56 PM
Vehicle: T-127
Experience received: 3,696 (x2 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 26,097
Battle Achievements: Top Gun

7 kills, 3 damaged. Pretty much solo'd those 7 players. This tank is so amazing.

Actually the French had the best tank in 1940 when the Battle of France began. Problem is they used it as infantry support instead of armor groups like the Germans did. The German way of fighting and the French way of fighting were comepletely different. The French fought it like WW1. The Germans were thinking 1940s Blitzkrieg.

Okay, enough of the history talk. The second part to my reply is that in WoT the Char B1 you only get to use the 47mm gun. It has a 75mm howitzer as well but you as the player do not get to use it. Why? Because it would kick some ass. Imagine if you could use it. The game really is not that historically accurate obviously. The devs purposely made it that way. Get access to using the 75mm gun on that Char B1, even though it would need to be used like a TD since the gun can only move up and down for the most part, and it would do much better. The Devs know this but they denied the player using it. The 47mm is a laughable gun to use when going up against tanks with better armor and better guns.

I have about enough of this game ridiculous track damage. How the hell can you knock out both tracks when one side isnt even facing the shot? This happened not only once, but twice in the same match. From what I can tell if you fart at tanks they lose their damn tracks. It is beyond comical now. Everything knocks a track off. About had it with this crap!

Are you sure it is not art doing it? With the angles of the rounds it is possible to hit the far side of a tank with splash damage and take out a track.

It is arty and tanks. I mean, I had a game in a tiger tonight. I got tracked 6 times in under 15 seconds. I didnt even know it was possible to get tracked while being tracked. It is would be comical if it wasnt so damn annoying. The double tracking in the same game happened with the Sherman E8.

Its been that way ever since they changed how tracking is done in a patch back around release. It used to be any tank could just hit repair kit and repair a track and go again. Then they changed it and instead of having just one side of tracks broke both sides would be broke. Using a repair kit won't fix both sides broke. It will only repair one side. So you sit there basically perma tracked for a bit. The trade off was instead of hitting the tracks anywhere a enemy will have to hit one of your sprockets to get you tracked. Arty splash however will break both tracks still. I arerely use a repair kit for tracks anymore. I use them more for a broke gun or ammo rack.

cmon man, that's THE tactic when you're at the bottom of the match.
keep the big boys tracked for your arty and other tanks that CAN actually hurt them.

i know i piss off the maus/e100/is-7's by constantly keeping them tracked

It's also possible to shoot through the tracks and hit both I think. I've been double tracked by big guns (Bl-10) before.

the hardest nut to crack from the front is still the 4502B it seems. The info seems a bit outdated because the tiger II's mantlet's been fixed.

haha i doubt that, i get penned constantly in the 4502B
i've tried straight on, slightly angled, angled, etc..

tier 9's have no issues penning me and i have no issue penning other 4502B's.

Being constantly tracked is effing ridiculous. Every other game that has a form of CC has immunity timers. Being tracked nearly every shot is a joke and a poor game mechanic.

Perhaps, but taking 0 damage from hits as they keep my tracked and my gun still firing doesn't usually work out in their favor. Now with arty... :'(

Blah blah blah, I hate you and your VK! My stupid ass T34 with 105mm can't pen anything. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating, and the damned thing did seem to get some sort of stealth buff in the latest patch (probably my imagination).
