Next step is to post a replay to show us how you're perma tracked? Because i've never had it happen to me.

Now the question is do I actually want a VK2801? Better gun sure & it sounds a lot more agile... but is it pretty much 100% relegated to scout roles?

When I first got my Panther with the long 75mm i loved it. It could pen almost anything on the map. Granted, it could take 4 shots to kill a M4E2 or the like because the damage from the gun is low. Now I have noticed how poor the armor on this tank is. Even t4 tanks can damage this thing,not much bounces off this tank. Yes I know that with this gun you should be like a sniper most of the time and I do. Yet even with 1350 in hit points, it's not long until you are toast. It can be a fun tank to drive anyway.

the panther's great with the 75 L/100. The rate of fire is incredible but it doesn't do much damage at all. It takes something like 15 rounds to put down a tiger, not counting the occasional bounce. Takes like 3-4 rounds just to put down a M4. That being said, it makes a terrible brawler because of the complete lack of armor, side ammo racks and front based transmission. But the dps is decent if you're fighting russian mediums like t-34/85 and t-43s.

man did the E100 get nerfed in 7.1 patch? everything seems to pen me. if i knew it was like this i would have concentrated on getting the maus first

the is-7 however got super buffed, seems like nothing can pen me if i'm hull down on them, i've even bounced some side shots LOL

don't think so. I've never had a problem penning E-100 anyways. They're my favorite tier 10 to fight now that IS-7 got super charged.

IS7 in a hull down position is sweet. In clan wars last night our IS7 held off a 54 indefinitely when it was hulled down. Eventually the 54 had to retreat and used in a different role.

The problem with the IS7 is that if it's armor is penned, man does it go down fast! But being an arty, I love seeing IS7's in clan wars.

This makes me sad as the E-100 is what I'm working the most on getting. I guess I should should just buy my IS and get to grinding things out. Hell I still dont even have a tier 9 tank. The grind seems to take an enternity even with premium.

Where did you get the idea this game should be more arcade like and track are invulnerable? The game abstracts aspects of real life so the game is playable. Since the game isnt a representation of real life, having the capability to perma snare a tank is a bad game mechanic.

So says you. Having been perma tracked I no longer allow myself to get in those situations... unless I do it on purpose. I was perma tracked in my Ferdi last night, but it was okay because I was on dorf and I was raping things down a long road. Sure I was eventually killed by the tank that had flanked and tracked me, but not until I did a crap load of damage down range. If I am in my KV-5, I normally present my side armor and welcome the guys tracking me as I become a glorified bunker. Whatever I can do to protect R2 I do!

What is the difference between being perma-tracked and face hugged by a tank you can't damage? Or do you think you shouldn't be face hugged either? What if you are penned by a facehugging tank on the side of a cliff and your gun can't traverse to hit the guy?

Most important part of the game. Really. Though sometimes its inevitable, you should do your best to prevent it. If you get a skilled player that circle strafe you to death, you should clap for them because they done a great job instead of whining about how turret traverse sucks and little tanks shouldn't be able to keep you tracked and damage you. Too many people go straight to forums and bitch instead of asking themselves "How can I prevent that next time?"


Think of it as defensive tanking. When you peek around the corner, there's 15 guns and arty looking at you. What do you do? How do you maximize your chance of survival? Complaining about tracking mechanism is certainly not one of them.

The penetration is infuriatingly low... but when it hit's it's like a freight train.

Where's my freebie premium T34?!?!?! It better not suck as much as it does now once it's "reduced" to tier 8 (seriously, very little reduction is needed for it to be an ok tier 8!).

We have a clan mate that sold his because he got sick of grinding with it. 1200 battles in the 59!

I barely pull mine out as most of my tanks are credit makers and I am nowhere near needing a new tank. My KV-5 is SOOOOO much fun though. Lately, outside of clanwars, I have been chumming around in my MS1, tetarch, and KV.

Other than a 5% credit making buff, I haven't seen news of anything else that sounded like a buff, except for maybe the change to sloped armor (which affected many tanks). The 59's got bumped into the PROPER matchmaking group, so I call that a nerf. Five to ten 59's can't as easily terrorize a bunch of tier 8-10's as they can a bunch of tier 5-8's.

Type 59 In-game Store Removal

We will soon be updating the World of Tanks in-game store. As of January 16, 2012, the Type 59 premium tank will be removed from the in-game store after the server restart which will take place at 5:00-5:30 GMT. While the tank will not be available for purchase, all existing Type 59 owners will keep their tank intact.

This decision has been made to ensure a healthy gameplay balance at higher tiers, and also to encourage a wider variety of tier 8 medium tank usage. Should the T59 become available again through special events in future, we will make sure to announce such events ahead of time.

I had a match the other day with 5 type 59s a panther and I was in my poor VK. It was the train yard stage. All 7 of us rushed over to their cap point, decimated what little resistance was over there and then capped. Map was over in like a minute. Fastest game I've ever played.
