When I am in my derpy KV, I sometimes use auto aim and 3rd person mode so the gun is always on the target and when I clear an obstacle the target is lit green and I fire.

I just used auto aim tonight in a company battle with my derpy KV. It was a champion battle and they needed a 5 so I got in this thing. It was campinova and we had the side with the buildings. I was on early detect detail and on the far left building. When the charge did happen, I retreated around the building but auto aimed on the t32. As the tank crested, I did not have to worry about any fine adjustments, just a clear green circle and fired (oh I *was* shooting gold). Tagged the T32 for 700+ damage. And because I was in 3rd person view, I was able to drive my tank a bit and make them crest further to kill me, which gave my support time to annihilate them.

Auto aim *does* have its uses. Sometimes you don't care where the shell hits a tank, you just need it to hit.

Hmm now that the patch isn't coming till March, I can safely buy a Pershing. Any suggestions on stock pershing playstyle & suggested upgrade path? I'm thinking first engine, best gun, 2nd engine, tracks, turret?

Play back a bit til you get the feel for the tank and then when you got it figured out go in with other mediums. Dont go in alone. You are a Pershing but can still get raped because they will gang up on you. Dont think a T59 is a push over either. If the player is good he can hurt you pretty good. Your tank has the slight advantage 1 vs 1 but a good player can overcome those odds.

Been a while since I got mine. Forgot the exact path. I tend to get better gun before other things if I can. Better gun means more damage which means more creds and xp and a easier grind. I consider speed secondary to a gun but that is just me. I think I went tracks, turret, 90mm, 90mm, then back to engine and then radio. If I remember correctly. Again, I go for more firepower over speed. I can always lay back and snipe with a good gun if I'm too slow. Somewhere I got the 105 too but haven't ever used it. The last 90mm is where its all at IMO.

I tend to just swap back and forth between sniper mode or use 3rd person mode aiming if I need to be driving. I find that if you're ever in a situation like that you're either close enough for it to not matter or you're stationary enough to use manual aim anyways. Plus it's not that complicated to be driving and aiming manually, hit r a few times and start pivoting.

That and I lock my turret to look around a lot and I rarely have problems with the gun disperson swinging around.

edit:

Trying to figure out whether I want to play the T-54 or the E-50. The t-54 I've played to death in beta. Fast and nimble and fairly well armored, and it's a great brawler and arty hunter. E-50 from what I've seen is more of support gun platform that's not great at brawling, but the gun is great for sniping and decent at brawling, and it's pretty heavy so ramming is a good tactic. It's also pretty heavily armored so it can take hits, but it's huge.

Any thoughts on the difference between the 2? Both are great tanks I think.

e-50 seems to have decent (top) speed too. its gun is definitely better than the t-54's (acc, rof, pen). they are a handfull to fight. i want one.

Finally unlocked my T30.

God, the T34 really is an awesome tank at times. Shame that very few can appreciate it or use it as effectively.

Efficiency in T32: 1983.5
Efficiency in T34: 1950.0

Roll on my M103 and T110E5

This 5x XP is great. Let me do my final push to the IS-4. I'm not sure when or if I'll play it, but I'm ready for the Russian patch and American patch. Well, my wolverine and slugger are elite but I no longer own them... Not sure how that will work.

Your Wolverine will stay Elite but it will have the Hellcat research incomplete. (This happened with my Tier 9 Pershing which was Elite pre-patch. My Patton is Elite but I have not researched the Patton-exclusive 90mm)

Slugger does not change. It stays where it is and as it is.

(unless WG change the way they do things)

Had some fun games today.
One game put me (in a PzKwIV, fully upgraded) alongside tier 1-3 (I was the only tier 4 on Himmelsdorf.

That netted med 7 unfair kills...they shot me for no effect...I one shot them in return, but had to run all over the map due to our base being capped...so it wasn't as easy as I thought i would be.

Another game (I'm in a fully upgraded Leopard) some dude whines "The have all the KV's...we have lost this one".
There where 3 KV's on the other team.

I got mad, and to him to google "Flanking"..and took off for the Hill full speed.
(We were on the "city" side
No enemy and a t2 and a t3 tank was comming to the hill to...following my socuting

I said "fuck it"...and rushed their camp....revealing all...and took of for my own lines..and made it.
Having made a full "lap"...which cost the enemy team half their tanks (including 2 of their KV's)..I told the dude if he was sure we were going to lose..and told him..."watch me do a second lap".

And so I did...and a well timed push ensured victory.

Most fun game I have had so far.
Going to go op to heavy tanks, while I aim for the VK2800 something...faster than the Leopard...it can only be more fun!

My goodness, the IS-3 is *awesome* with the BL-9. I used free xp to get the BL-9 right off the bat, and man. Fantastic. I think this is my fav tier8 tank now. I wasn't sure if I should buy it b/c it cleans out all my credits to do so, but def worth it!

Hmm so will I have to buy my Wolverine to research the Hellcat or can I simply buy the Hellcat?

if you have enough free xp, you can research the hellcat w/o needing to have the wolverine again, then buy it. unless the hellcat is already researched, then you can just buy it outright

yep the bl-9 makes the is-3, really fun tank to play, does good damage and easy to flank other tanks.

Yeah it's pretty maneuverable and feels reasonably speedy. I feel like it handles better than the IS & the gun is of course a huge upgrade. This tank is so much better than the IS, it's ridiculous.

And FINALLY some reliably bouncy armor! I don't enjoy going head to head with IS-3s in other tanks, but I enjoy taking them on in my IS-3! haha

edit: Unless I start hating this tank or something, the grind to get IS-4 should be pretty enjoyable. Don't see any reason why I won't be able to pick that up before the Russian tree changes are released, score!

just make sure when fighting someone 1 on 1 if you're gonna brawl (not what the is-3 is for tho) you are straight on against them, it's like the is-7 with the angled front armor. never angle in the is-3/is-7

Yes, you will have to purchase the Wolverine to grind the exp needed to research the Hellcat and then purchase the Hellcat.

Alternatively, you can use free experience to complete the Hellcat research and then purchase the Hellcat.

The Hellcat will just become a new "module" to research on the Wolverine Research page.

I got my KV last night and decided to take it for a spin before going to bed. Everything stock except radio and engine (must have had them researched from SU-152). I think I'm going to like this tank.

The map was Ensk and I headed for the maze of buildings along with two other heavies. The stroll was boss like. Took out tank after tank and bounced quite a few rounds made it all the way to their flag where I took out two more tanks and an arty.

XP gained 6,900+. 7 tanks destroyed. Good way to start on this new tank. I put the 122mm on it now and upgraded the tracks all after one game. Can't wait to play some more and give my E-75 a rest.

At least it's a good weekend to pick it up again. I guess I'll get some XP on it and be ready for the patch.

I take back all the bad things I said about the E-75. The 12.8cm does so much damage. I can actually make good money on this tank now. Now I just need to get the engine.

The IS-3 is an enjoyable tank. It's a fun brawler and the BL-9 makes it deadly and dangerous. It's in every way shape and form better than the IS, which was fun by itself as well.

The 2nd turret makes side shots at your turret hurt less at the cost of some frontal turret armor.
