I believe the max range is +-4 on MM. Correct me if I am wrong. So the max a Tier 5 will see is a Tier 9 or a loltractor on the flipside.

Shens. If you are not platooned you will never see a tier 10 tank in a KV.

its different for scouts, but that's the general formula. They have a different weight on various tanks according to some chart. For example type 59s never saw tier 10s before they tweaked it.

The MM will only count the highest tiered tank in you platoon. So if you have 2 tier 5s (highest possible is 8) platooned with a single tier 7 (highest is 10) you could get into a Tier 10 match with your KVs.

Artillery and light tanks do NOT tier the same way as mediums, heavies and TDs. They get placed in MUCH higher matches. Tier 5 lights and up can easily get into T10 matches, same for arty. So if you place a tier 6 heavy in a platoon with a tier 5 light you're going to see tier ten matches.

This isn't a bug. Some part of your tank is visible that they are shooting at. Its either the front part of your tank, or the very top of your turret. Also tier 6+ arty can easily splash damage you for 300+ by just shooting next to you.

Trust me, there are plenty of times I've been like "how the fuck am I getting hit!", only to swivel around in the 3rd person view and see the marks on the very front of my tank (paintball mod helps with this).

I have noticed an increase in people that whine over "hacks"...that isn't hacks...but jus gameplay.

I was in a Leopard, elite, max upgraded, with camo net...hiding around the corner, keep spotting tanks around the bend and "lighting" them up.
A Ferdi did some pro shooting and killed the to "hidden" tanks.

They went nut and complained about hacking...I don't think it's hacking to move a little bit forward and back in a Leopard...low sig radius FTW

I also attribute some of that to latency in the system. You may believe you are behind the building but the computer doesnt. There has only been one time in 2300 battles where I couldnt figure out how they were hitting me while I was behind a building. Hacking not found.

Incorrect course of action sir. Solution is to scream about it while in game and make fun of their mothers and their sexuality and then make forum posts about it.

I play on high resolutions, but I assume it still appears. The mod just changes the hit marks to bright red (for pen) and blue (non-pen) so that they easily contrast with the tank colors. Alot easier to see at a glance than the gray on gray marks.

For people complaining about being shot while around corners, go drive a 4502B for a while. The turret on that thing is so far back on the hull it becomes an art form to shoot anything without exposing your entire tank.

yea the 4502b was hard to play, my grind with it, i didn't use it as a front line brawler due to that turret placement. the gun is insanely accurate. i did enjoy it but needed the crew for the maus.

Four day weekend coming up. Just about ready to buy a 4502P Ausf A. Probably be playing that a lot to get it all upgraded. I been playing my Pershing quite a bit this last week. Rediscovering how fun it can be. What I'm really looking forward to is the new American TDs. I love the Slugger. Hoping to see a bigger turreted TD with a bigger gun on it. Actually bigger TD is probably not what I want. Just a bigger gun. A nice nasty accurate 105mm would be nice on the same size carrier. A Super Slugger. Heh heh.

Somebody on the forums posted a pic of how to hug buildings with that tank. It was pretty genius and would make it tough in a city battle for most anything to penetrate you as your side of the tank is exposed but at an extreme angle.

sure ok, but the non-pen hits look like a long gouge and pen hits are big gaping holes, depending on the caliber that hit you. Coloring it does make it easier though.

I thought those armor values are still subject to shell overmatching though? Ex 130mm from S-70 would ignore those values because 130 > 110mm side.

Yup, that's exactly how you do it. And it's really good practice for the Maus which is almost invulnerable when doing that. You actually peekaboo out from the corner by backing up into the intersection while turning slightly, expose your gun and take your shot, and then driving forwards while straightening yourself out.

The big downside is that it takes a clear intersection to perform, so you need to take that whole corner yourself and cannot have any backup on the corner with you.

Interesting. I just bought my 4502 Ausf A. I would like to try a Maus. Not sure I want to grind the Ausf B though. The tank looks like its very challenging to use.

what i was seeing was most likely some horrible lag compensation, since my wreck was well back from the corner (no line of sight at all). must have been a hell of a shot to get the last pixel he saw as i drove around

Sweet. More help for me to push to the T30 and IS-4. Now might be a good time to buy that KV you sold, intending to buy it before the Russian patch that splits the KV into two tanks.

Maybe I'll buy the SU-85B so I can get the SU-85 for half price. Or maybe I won't since I already have two damned TD's I'm working through and I'm not crazy about TDs in general.
