Haven't been following forums lately. Why is the IS-4 useless? are the frontal weaknesses (all 200 of them) still there?

Mostly I think it's just sour grapes, but I don't know for sure. I think people were complaining it was still too squishy, yes, but not many people bothered to go to a training room to test it. There was a lot of gold ammo flying around since everyone got 15K per test round. Of course it's gonna pen, 400mm is more than any heavy has anywhere despite the sloping...

Man, just had a hilarious battle in the AMX38. Prior to this battle I only had 3 kills total in the tank, then in this one battle got 7 kills. It's my last battle in the little POS thank god but this game was still awesome.

That's pretty amazing. I had a hard time killing anything with that POS gun, but I found that tank to be absolutely hilarious to drive since it bounces a LOT of shots.

As it is only a 18k xp grind to the KV-3 and my KV already has 8k, I think I'll get it quickly. 2 slots and 2 tanks for free, hard to argue against that.

Yep that is its one redeeming quality. In that game I took 10 hits with only a bit of track damage. AMX40 is more of the same. In my first game with it I bounced 3 shots from a KV who was using the 107. It was utterly impossible to do any damage to tier 4+ opponents with that stupid little pop gun, so I broke down and free xp'd all the upgrades. At least the top 75mm gun seems to be fairly decent....

The IS-4 got bumped to 2400hp, its still right around the same speed (so much slower than IS-7). It looks like its armor got slightly better, but I didn't compare the 7.2 to 7.3 paper stats. I do know I bounced quite often playing it on the test server, and thats amazing in itself since most people are throwing gold rounds at you. They also changed the gun. Its now 440 dam, 268 pen(off memory, so may be +-2 or so) and reloads a little more than a second faster than the IS-7.

Overall I liked it and didn't end up with a single dead driver (doesn't mean its fixed though, people might not aim that much when using gold). I'll probably end up using it every once in awhile to get a change from the IS-7. And now that we have like 6 IS tanks, people aren't going to know how to handle them all.

With all the new tanks, I'm liking the variety that I get to fight against every battle.

I just love the Panther II. I play it like a faster version of my KT. I didnt appreciate the long 88 until this tank. Probably because the tanks it was on were too slow to get around the battlefield and wreck people.

I've always kind of felt like the PII and Panther are a downgrade afte the VK3002DB. The DB is a great dogfighter... both Panthers OTOH kind of suck unless you can stay in sniper territory.

I too was feeling letdown after using the VK3002DB tank. Nothing seems to dogfight quite like it. I rarely use mine anymore. With all the new tanks since then it feels less viable now.

The panther and up arent dogfighters. I am looking at these as mobile gun platforms. Well the panther sucks. But the Panther II and E50 carry a solid gun for a medium. And they can get it to a location fast to add extra fire power. For dog fighting the other lines offer better alternatives. My favorite tanks for dog fighting are the E8 and PZIII\IV.

Not really a challenge, especially not for you. I was more reffering to people fighting against these tanks just not knowing where to shoot them to hurt them effectively. Then again there is the flip side of the people not knowing how to drive them effectively either. I"m personally fine with this, as I know how to drive my tanks effectively, and it wont take me long to figure out the weakspots on the new tanks.

Here's the latest I've seen that came from anyone official:

Well, you can count. Tomorrow we will be releaseing the update on RU. Due to some technical reasons (update size, amount of servers on RU side), we won't be able to release 7.3 on NA and EU the same day.

Also we do not like to release updates on Friday, since there won't be anybody the next day to fix issues, if any, And few people will be able to monitor the work of the game server.

So 7.3 will be released on NA next week. Most probably, in the first part.

So, it looks like the speculation about tomorrow may be wrong. Also, his explanation for why 7.2 was released on a Friday:

The Saturday after that Friday was a workday in Belarus, so you can consider that it was Thursday, actually.

Thought I heard they pushed it out till the end of may? I honestly have a hard time believing they can split the soviet tree like this and get it in a month after the last patch.

Edit: So I guess they will push it out? I still cant believe they can introduce another large change to the game in a month. Guess we will see.

Another question: What's the real world difference between derp and 107 for the KV?

I see the Elcs guide actually recommends the 107. Is the drawback to the 107 being completely worthless to higher tier tanks?

0.6 accuracy, this is an inaccurate gun and is best served on the front line to increase the chances of a hit...

The 107 hits hard enough, reloads fast(er), and is MUCH more accurate. I prefer the reliability of the 107 on the KV, but nothing gives you those LOL moments like the derp.

With either gun, the tank is OP for its tier. We'll see how the replacements are in a few days.

I might give the 107 a shot...the ~25s reload just destroys me. Fine when I have support, but when I'm the last KV...

+1 for the 107 on the KV. The derp is hilarious and great for trolling high tier tanks but usually you will get maybe 2-3 shots in with it before you die. The 107 owns tier 5-6 battles and is reasonably effective against tier 8s if you know where to aim.

Edit: Looking at your profile now I see that you haven't really gotten into high tiers yet. Once you get to about tier 7+ you will have a rough time even with good guns unless you learn and aim for weak spots. The 107 on the KV is fantastic practice for this.
