Today I remembered I was closing in on researching the M48 Patton. So I got my M46 Patton out and played for a while. I'm about 6k away from researching the M48 Patton. I'll hit it again tonight after work. Who has the M48 Patton and how is it?

Edit: M48 Patton researched

Similar question as Skott's above.

I'll unlock the Tiger II and buy it tonight, likely. I want to get 1 last daily double in on the Tiger I and it'll get me to unlock. I have 62k+ free xp saved up so that I can go straight to the top-tier 105 on the Tiger II, but not the upgraded turret or tracks.

Any advice on the Tiger II? (I watched the video on WOT about the Tiger II already).

m48 is underwhelming. It can do well but you can almost positively do better in a t62 or bat with the same skill level.

I play mine fairly aggressively at the start and then let the front line tanks take over while i harass from odd angles/flanks.

That video sucks...Tiger II is not best in cities and they recommend crap skills.
In my 265 battles in the Tiger II I have had fire 2 or 3 times.

I have a 60% winrate in it, 77,41% accuracy and +1800 efficiency in the Tiger II and I tell you...it's no citytank.

Learn to angle it...it's can be VERY bouncy.
I has an excellent gun, very good for sniping, but it can brawl if need be.

Don't turn your sides to the enemy though...thin amour on the sides.
And beware...XVM shows if you have the stock turret...so prepare to be penned there.

Okay, so learning to angle it means turning some of the side towards the enemy a lot of times, right? But I should keep them still at a high angle while trying to present the front of the tank at a 15 or 20 degree angle?

And yes, I run XVM and know when somebody has the ST or SG identification myself

Fuck it back off this game for another month. Had enough of MM pitting me with retards that suicide because they don't like the map or flat suck so bad they die a min into the game.

Leaving the game isn't going to do a single thing to the quality of pub matches a month from now, fyi. I guess rage quitting will help your nerves, though

If you are wanting to enjoy the game but find the MM or the teams terrible I highly suggest platooning. Start making some friends online that you can battle with. Make sure everyone's tank compliments the other tanks in tier, play style and quality. Platoon like that and you'll find the pubs much easier and enjoyable. If you insist on solo play then you are pretty much going to have to grit your teeth and bear it or quit.

I solo a lot and when I can't get the decent game experience I want I will jump in my American TDs where I can sit back and snipe and make some money or I jump into my T59 or Lowe and make some serious money whether I survive the battle or not. It helps overcome the bad things about the game. And if my luck is just completely crap no matter what tank i try (it does happen from time to time) I just log off and go play a different game, watch tv, or whatever. Sometimes you do just have to walk away from the game.

Mornings - Game play kinda good, not bad.
Afternoons - 12Noon 6pm Game play at its best for me.
Prime Time 6pm-11pm It can be good or bad depending.
Late Night - 11pm or later. Teams pretty much suck.

That is my experience. Late night used to be great at one time but something changed and mostly idiots now. I find afternoons the best now matter what day it is. Luckily I'm a shift worker and can play between Noon and 3pm.

I have met several tankers online that I plaatoon with when no one else is around.
Tankers were we both were mad at the pusssies in pixels tanks, pm'ed each other afterwards and did a platoon were we ruled.

To many bad tankers online...you guys on the NA server should praise yourself that you don't have to deal with the "siemka's"-

Polish people...no skill...dies terribad with.....uselesss to the team.
Their opening lines are always:
"Simeka"
"KTO PL?"

See any of those lines...you are happy when they are on the enemy team...sad when they are on your own team.

On a side note, using XVM 3.2.2test2...I LOVE that it shows WN6 ratings besides efficiency.
Mâkes it easy to spot seal-clubbers, when they have a ER of 1670...but a WN6 of 930 ^^

They get quite confused when thy act like "gods"...after dying first, to no use, to then insult all team...and then you point out that they are useless stat-padders...fun times ahead

I currently have only Jimbo's crosshairs mod installed, how do I set up XVM properly? (I just want the stats, nothing else regarding UI)

I haven't played the tiger 2 in a long time, but 30-35 degrees should be the sweet spot. If they try to shoot your sides, they will just track you, and they will have a hard time penning the front.

There is a mod that shows the angle difference between where your gun is pointed and your hull direction. It can help tremendously when angling your tank, as what you think may be 30 degrees may not even be close.

@Harabec: Your missing out if you are only using xvm for the stats. The UI mods that come with it are great. Although I do believe the stats info is seperately downloadable now. You'll need install the dolkien library and then follow the direction via xvm, and start the game using the xvm supplied shortcut so that it can connect to the xvm server to pull the stats.

If you still end up getting the UI stuff and you dont want it, go find the xvmconf file and open that up in notepad and edit it to turn the UI stuff to false. The file has plenty of comments in it, so its not that hard to figure out how to turn the thing off you dont like.

Mornings are the best time generally I found, at least if you're stateside. Evening until about midnight is terrible. After 1:00 it picks up again with good games.

I haven't tweaked my XVM much, but it has a few useful things like capture timer. What else is there?

also feel free to hit me up when I'm on, although generally I don't play for very long unless there's some 5x or 3x event going on. game name same as here.

The things xvm's UI is good for is:
-capture timer and #tanks capturing (inaccurate for tank #s in encounter though)
-damage log keeps track of all the tanks you've damaged and your total damage
-advanced over the target markers - much better than the included in game crap. You can change the above tank markers to your liking using the xvm config and color the text with a large amount of built in macros (eff, win rate, life remaining, etc). That and you can color pop up damage by source, so you can differentiate your damage from your platoon mates and the rest of your team.

I like it, as alot of things are customizable in the xvmconf text file. I am an electrical engineer that does software for a living though, so I don't mind mucking around with the config file to change things to my liking.

I have the first 2, need to look at #3 to see that that works. It would be nice to see if the player you're targeting is dangerous or just a flapping duck.

Just had a great game in my Tiger II by angling. In a city map I was able to hold off a Type 59, SuPershing, Tiger 2, T32, IS by myself at a corner because I kept angling myself properly while backing up around the corner to avoid getting flanked. I ended up receiving 28 hits (lots of bounces) and still able to maintain about 40% hp before helps came, while dealing each of them 500-700 damages. I think the trick is to show only a little bit of side and more front. Avoid peeking out of corners totally with side exposed to enemy.

On another note, just encountered a dumb enemy in a T34-1 just stopped there and trade shots with my T28 Proto even though there are buildings nearby. Easy kill, just glad he was not in my team. Sometimes I see a light/medium ram a heavy at full speed and get destroyed while dealing practically no damage. Pubies can be entertaining and infuriating.

I installed XVM, however it only works every couple of games, or just partially...
I'll look around to see if there's a fix for that.

BTW, I decided to spend some free xp on unlocking the AC Mle. 48. Cool thing, MUCH better than the 46. Without the 120mm it plays like a 50-100 with a broken turret (your frontal plate does not really impress anyone) so I'm dying to get it Meanwhile getting my crew up by playing it with just a tad of free-xp here and there.

Okay, so I started my own replay repository.

Includes my last battle before selling my Tiger I (I got top gun and reaper) and my first battle as a Tiger II (got 2 kills, 2k damage... my platoon mate got 9 kills, 4.5k damage. Next highest in the team was 450 damage).

Also a nice defensive stand on my T-25. I welcome any suggestions and constructive criticism on my play-style. Gonna be adding to my signature, and uploading replays from time to time.

how do i access 50% off equipment?

If you want to stock up, go to "Store" and then "Modules" (or is it equipment? Can't look it up at work). You can buy the appropriate class of rammers, vents, camo net, etc and it'll keep it in your garage until you mount it.

Example: lights use class 1 vents, mediums use class 2, heavies use class 3. If you're not sure what to buy, ask on forums and one of us for sure has the right tank and can help you out.
