What happens to existing tanks after the wipe? We get reimbursed for them or they just go poof?

Details for the soft wipe:
1) All current tanks/modules/ammo in your garage will be refunded for full value credits. (As per normal softwipes)
2) All exp earned since the softwipe and all the free experience from the last soft wipe will be also refunded. Current exp saved on Elite tanks will be converted to free experience at the soft wipe.
This means all exp spent including free exp from the soft wipe. If you spent it on tanks have it as free exp on the account or have exp on elite tanks you get all of that. (hope that clears it up)
3) All tank crews will be lost. They came they fought and now they get a well earned vacation and rotate off the front so we can break in some new recruits.
4) Garage slots, Barracks expansions, and Current premium account times will refunded (pro-rated for remaining time) These refunded items will be refunded as Gold to your account. (Gotta check on Premium tanks tho think they are refunded also)
5) Current Credits balance and Current Gold balance will be carried over with the refunded gold (premium garage slots ect) and credits (existing tanks/modules). Players will have both Gold and Credits on their account after the softwipe ready for spending.
6)No total exp reduction is planned for the soft wipe. (This tool has been used in the past, basically its a global percentage reduction of exp) This testing tool is not being used in this soft wipe.
7) No Planned bonus Gold. (Daily 150gold will continue)

Too late. Already sold it. I didn't use it much anymore anyway. With the wipe coming up in about 2 weeks it probably doesn't make much difference now anyway. The sale of my T28 paid for training the entire crew to 75% with more left over to help defray the cost of the Pz4 that replaced it.

KV-3 is a lot better than the KV (I survived 26 shots in one match but we still lost), but I need to grind through to the IS3. I find myself going back to my T-46 often to get in some more fun gameplay. With these heavier tanks like the KV, as slow as they are, sniping is what I spend most of my time doing. Well, if I don't have a scout out in front, my view distance isn't all that great (340 yards), and I often get killed by someone who can see me before I can see them. That's my biggest gripe in the game so far, dying to invisible enemies. Often times I can't even tell what direction the rounds are coming from, they just slam into me and I have no clue where they originated.

I liked my IS better than my IS-3 and now my IS-4. Both machines (to me) are the KV all over again. In fact, now that my KV is maxed out, I like it better than my current IS-4. I can only hope that after the soft wipe that I will have enough XP and credits to go right to the IS-7.

The problem with these higher end heavy tanks is that it takes SOOO long to level from one to the next. And you can't make money with them. Their repair costs are so high and shells so costly, your net salary using them is negative.

Well... it's getting tough.

My T29 is Elite.
My T32 needs over 160k to unlock the T34
My T-43 needs another 40k to unlock the T-44
My JagdPanther needs another 60k to unlock the Ferdinand
My KV has unlocked the KV-3 but I want the KV-1S too
My M4 Sherman is still pretty new but I need the 105mm LOLcannon and turret until he's fully upgraded

I'm still trying to adjust to my new Logitech G700 mouse, using 200dpi setting for in-game and I still move faster than some fast turrets.

Sorted on one tank I want after the softwipe but that leaves me with something like 700k free experience left to play with.

Yeah I'm stuck with a long grind on all of my current tanks.

Tiger - have the turret, tracks, and first engine upgrade. Need ~15K for the good 88, ~40K for the next two engines, oh yeah then ~82K for the King Tiger.

VK3001P - need second engine upgrade 12K, then 42K till the DB.

SU-85 Elite

SU-100 Elite

Have 500K in the bank, need another 800K for my SU152. Chances are pretty slim I'm going to get any of these accomplished prior to the softwipe.

1. Elite tanks have all upgrades researched. Once that happens, it becomes elite. A small portion of xp on that tank goes to free experience, or you can have all xp go to the crew.

2. They said it will be in December.

3. You do get more money, and I've noticed a little bit more xp. (others will tell you if that is true)

Soft wipe is 'Mid December' to quote a Developer.

An Elite tank is one which has had all available research completed. This also includes any 'follow on' tanks, for example the KV must research the KV-1S, KV-3 and S-51 as well as all of the equipment before it is considered to be Elite.

An elite tank can use all gained experience to be transferred to the crew, making them level up approximately 20% faster if they survive the battle. Alternatively, it can be set to gain experience which can only be transferred into Free Experience and that process requires gold.

The main component of experience and credit earning is: Damage. The more you do, the more you earn. Being the first person to spot an enemy tank in that match earns you a little bonus. Kills are supposed to give you an extremely small amount of exp too so they are moot, not worth chasing a kill total unless you are a Top Gun medalaholic.

Staying within range of an enemy which you can see and your team mates would not be able to see if it was not for you will earn you experience for any damage those enemy tanks take. That is a very useful one for light tanks and pretty good for Tank Destroyers too, Heavy Tanks will benefit a lot from this because they are typically on the front and at the front.

Experience gain does improve and with Premium (a must have) my T29 and T32 American tanks rake in 740-750 experience per match on average along with 25-30k credits. I have hauled in excess of 2,000 experience and 50,000 credits in matches also.

Elite tanks allow you to transfer all XP earned on that vehicle to another vehicle for some gold, I think it's 25xp/1 gold or something like that. Alternatively you can select to have all of the extra XP put towards training your crew faster.

How do I know what are the follow up tanks that require research to be elite? Is it the ones that are linked to within the tank's tech tree? It seems those are pretty big trees! For example the Landtraktor research tree links into like 3 light tanks and a tank destroyer - then I assume each one of those links further down the line to eventually become a huge tree - I must have misunderstood...

If it's on the research page, it must be researched for it to become Elite.

To Elite the 'LOLtraktor' you need to research:

• The Suspension
• Both Engines
• The Radio
• Both 2cm Guns
• The Sturmpanzer Bison
• The PzII
• The Pz 35(t)
• The PanzerJager I
• The Turret

It is awful for certain tanks to reach Elite (The KV being the prime example)

I havent read the notes but, the T29 for example, and its 120% armor is in need of a fix. No tank should have 120% armor IMHO. What other nerfs U.S. Tanks need I don't know.

After the wipe I hope to buy at least an IS3. I plan on starting a Russian medium line with the aim of getting the T44. I'll start the German line again and want to get a Tiger1 and a Panther. I'll forgo getting a Leopard again because I feel scouting has reached its peak and started its fall for big money.

I've never been much interested in TDs because I prefer a tank with a turret but if the American TDs come into play I may try an American TD line because they have moving turrets. Although I have to admit after watching the StuggIII in action numerous times I think they'd be fun to play. Not sure I'd want to work up to one though.

Well, thats my thoughts for what I plan to do between now and the wipe. Subject to change of course. ;-)

Oh- how do we get to play together? Is there any way? All i see option for is to start battle and then it throws me in a completely random game. there is that clan battle thing but does that mean you have to organize the game completely?

would be cool if it was like SC2 where you can play the random team games but still play together with friends on your team, and not have to manually find other players
