Man, these improved graphics suck. Sub 20 framerate and massive stuttering. GTX680.

There has to be a new setting doing this. I tried on the tier 1 Japanese tank and others report similar for just that tank. I YOLO'd and alt-f4d it before trying. The performance was too horrid.

Russian heavy lines are probably the most forgiving. I recommend selling most of the tier 1's in your garage, playing only a couple of lines at once, and if you start struggling, play lower tier tanks. There are gems at all tiers, and complete dogs as well. Avoid tier 4 light tanks until you know how to scout properly. Avoid tier 4 heavy tanks.

Everyone is using the R. Otsu but I just used it and its terrible.

Russian heavy line is fun, the American one is only good when you hit the T29 at tier 7. I really liked the Russian line. The guns are fun and rewarding when you blow peole away with those huge cannons.

I've done French and that was very rough, the German line is not too bad but it's a different type of heavy tank. They are solid though and the lower level tanks like the 3601 are pretty fun, at least when I played them.

I never could do the British heavy line, the payoff at 9 and 10 are good I hear but I couldn't make it through it. For a total newbie I would really recommend the Russian line. More armor and big guns let you learn how to play more than the other lines will.

T1 is good at tier 5 with the top gun. The M6, though, has a hard time holding it's own at tier 6. It's OK at tier 6, but is badly outclassed by tier 8s. Compared to a KV1S, ARL 44 or KV2, which can do serious hurt to any T6, the M6 needs to rely on premium to have a chance.

I'm doing the IS6 challenge for shits and giggles. The tanks I'm using are the Hellcat, Nashorn, KV2, ARL44, Type 58, Cromwell and the Chi To.

Do tanks have two guns? And for those do you need to use a different key to fire?

Also, should I buy something other than the stock ammo? Since the game sometimes tells me I hit them but didn't pierce their armor.

I'm going to stick with the Russian line and sell everything else. This game is completely different from World of Warplanes.

I love how the music is completely different, the UI is kinda different, controls are kinda different.

Okay, do I go with the AT-1, T-60, T-26, BT-2, SU-18

Lets see...
American scouts, heavy, medium, and TDs.
Russian scouts, mediums, no heavies since official launch but back in beta I played all the heavies.
British mediums and heavies.
German scouts, mediums, heavies, and some TDs.
French heavy up to AMX 50/100.
Japanese none yet.
Chinese Type 59 Boo Yah!

I don't play artillery. Never have and probably never will. No interest in them whatsoever.

I have several Gold Tanks from various nations and mixed lines.

The Soviet line has long been considered the easiest to start and learn on. I'd say French and British are the hardest lines. The French in particular. Its really a matter of what you want to play and your play style will dictate what you will have the most fun with.

Depending on the map, I get around 30-40 FPS on maximum (and I'm playing at 1600x900 and using sig rig)

Also I love the arty.

ya i'm running 1920x1200 everything maxed and i'm getting 40-60fps on all maps now
before it would be in the 30-50's. guess this new engine is optimized well

I just purchased a 780ti SC and cant push more than 80-90 FPS maxed at 2560X1440. Monitor is over clocked and can run 120 HZ. Any suggestions? Seems silly I might have to buy another 700$ GPU to run this old game

As of 8.4 WOT does indeed support SLI. Yes you can very much tell the difference between 60 and 120 FPS when you monitor supports 120hz.


As for my expectations I want 120 FPS+. Sold my crossfire 7950's because WOT does not support crossfire. I was getting 60-80FPS on those. I was hoping to see a much larger improvement than 15% as a 780Ti is almost twice as fast as a single 7950.

I eventually want to buy 2 more 1440P monitors but afraid of the FPS drop. Is that going to require 4 way SLI? Seems I get better FPS running BF. WOT is not even a eye candy game.

I dont play full screen.

I play at 1600x900 with a 660ti and I sometimes get 15-20 FPS at the beginning of the match but slowly works back up to 50-60 (depending on the map).

I love being arty and tank destroyer since I can sit back and relax.

WoT is limited by not being multithreaded...you are mostly CPU limited in this game.

cool, now if you can see the difference between 120 and 150 fps then you should go and become a fighter pilot.

Also the game is single threaded and is CPU limited like others have said. Don't bother getting a new graphics card to SLI, you'll barely notice the difference.

I serioulsy hope they go multithreaded in 9.x with the introduction of even more physics...otherwise the gameplay will suffer badly.

And I fear my Pz. 1 C will become a rolling tank after that patch...belly up all the time :s

Multithreaded support will be awesome. I get great FPS in WoWp. Didn't expect my performance to tank so much (130+ fps in WoWp)
