Which statement are you arguing?

1) Arty can not prop up a failing team as you must rely on the team for your shots and for your protection/capping/winning. You can do damage, you can one shot tanks, you can counter other arty... but if your team is full of retards you CAN NOT force a win (with the same authority as say an E75 or 62A).

2) The T92 is not boring as hell? You feel a thrill as you aim for 10 seconds and reload for 40? You are not a useless entity on dorf, ensk, ruinburg?

3) Surely you must agree. If you disagree with this one, I don't think we will agree on much at all.

4) Same for this one.

remove arty from the game. Arty is a clicker shitfest and worse than driving a t95 on the wrong side of the map.

the best games I've had are non-arty games. God forbid you actually use 90% of the map that has no giant mountains so you can hide from arty. They leveled out the maps, made the hills lumpy, put in terrific hull down positions. Too bad it never gets used because arty, so everyone humps mountains and houses.

My friend and I often start out the night in our arties. Requires no skill and we can chat while we reload for 30 seconds and aim for 10, and pray for RNG to see if we hit something.

I pretty much only play my t92 if I want to eat dinner, watch TV, or play with my toddler while I play. It's that mindless.

Overall I dislike artillery. However, on certain maps it does serve a purpose to try to get campers to move. But that problem could probably be overcome in other ways.

One way to get your win rate up is to play low tier fights. Tier 2 for example. Tier 2 battles are considered about the most balanced of all the tiers when it comes to the tanks. Then it becomes more skill based along with some luck. A lot of experienced players play at this level. So half the team is newbs and the other half experienced. Sure everyone can have elited tanks at this level but experienced players can usually kill the newbs because they know the tactics better and know the map layout better. Hence the experienced players up their win rates. Some people call this 'padding' their win rates but I'll leave it to the individual to decide that. Personally, I play it because it is about as even as a fight can be and its a hell of a lot of fun win or lose.

Its said once you have so many battles (in the thousands) under your belt you cannot really improve your win rate much more. Efficiency rating can be improved however its said. Possibly true I suppose. I personally don't care about stats in this game. There are enough stat whores as it is so I don't need to become one more. I'm in it for the fun of it. Some would argue that makes me a bad player and I shouldn't be in the battles. LOL

Edit: Oh, btw.. With the new patch I think the low end pc user will have to upgrade their GPUs and possibly CPUs. The graphic changes have made the PC work harder now and fps has been lowered some with the recent patch.

woot, my best game ever in the type59, i actually ran out of shells. i low rolled my last shot against a T34 and left him with 7 health, thank god i saved our AT15 just seconds earlier as he finished him off for me.

Nice one. The most XP I've gotten in a battle is 2,203 or so (before any day multipliers). So looks like you got more than that.

Anyone planning on upgrading their cpu or gpu for WoT? I am although I do admit its not only for WoT but since patch 9 came out I can see where I need some new boost soon because I have lost 10-20 fps on average with the new graphics. If I grab that new LG um95 monitor then I will probably get a 290x or 780Ti to run it. If not then just a 280x or 770 I suppose. My 6950 is getting a little out dated now.

I'm actually enjoying the tortoise ATM. Maybe because I'm grinding through Centurion and Caernavon tier VII gun and with the tortoise I can actually punch a hole in the enemy tanks.

The Tortoise has a great gun. The biggest problem with it is that it's armor is incredibly weak due to several glaring weak spots. Because the armor is good in some areas, a lot of people want to play it front line. But because of the weak spots, this tends to be a bad idea.

The Tortoise is great for a couple of things though.

1) Second line support. Due to it's great gun, you can support the assault very well and hopefully avoid a lot of fire by being in the second rank.

2) Bullying single tanks. Due to high Rate of Fire and a good amount of hit points, you can pretty much own any tank 1 v 1 that is equal or lower tier. Maybe a couple of exceptions but this is mostly the case due to the gun and hit point pool. You might be on low hit points afterwards, but you should be able to get your target.

Just play it to its strengths and it isn't bad. And then of course you have the 183 next, which is awesome (don't have one. I went and got a Waffles instead).

I have both, the waffle is basically garaged. The 183 is played all the time.

I must admit I'm not having that fun with the Waffles. Sure, it can pump out the damage. The problem is, it has zero armor and you have to expose yourself for so long to fire all of your ammo.

I think I would prefer the 183, where you could duck out, fire a shot, and get back behind cover.

And in that vein, I'm working towards the JP E100. On the J. Tiger now, which I'm actually really enjoying and doing fairly well in. I think the JP E100 will fit my style, even though it isn't considered a great vehicle. But I dont' do clan wars.

so holy shit, i have not had this much fun in wot like ever. comparable would be when wot first started and the kv w/derp got in tier 9 matches and you could roll almost 1k dmg @ tier 5 lmao.

i have only 1 shot an object 268 and ST-I so far as almost everything else i've hit was already hurt. but man, hitting a full health E3 for 1758 dmg and him bouncing on me (wtf right?) made me lol. so those that have a 183 also, how do you limit those stupid 500-800 tracking shots? do you just aim above the tracks when someone gives you their side? the turret usually is facing me and i'm not sure if i can pen thru it so i just fire at the side anyways...

i'm loading full hesh btw, don't see a point in anything else really, i am awaiting my first wtf in battle since those can potentially be 1 shotted as well.

LOL As I play more.... I HATE ARTY.... But, it is what it is. See in this game, I don't see it as so much camping. I see this game as chess. You cant camp a spawn site. so no harm there. Just about EVERY area I have seen is accessible. If its two against one, one can pin the camper down while the other captures base. Don't know where the camper is? Heck, isnt that the way its supposed to be? I WOULDNT recommend the one solo tank (scenario above) capturing a base unless...... that one is a Tank Killer.
What I hate (and I have a follow up question about MODS) is Tank Killers.
I was flanking (Supporting one on my team) one on some map.
I am watching him do one hit kills on big boys. And from CRAZY distance too.

So, is this game now unsupported and mods are allowed to run free? Did I see a mod in action last night? That would be a BUMMER but that is my MO, day late, dollar short.

Side of turret if possible, otherwise aim higher than tracks at the hull of the tank. Remember, 500-800 every 24 seconds is still better than a 0% crit AP/HEAT gets. I will still shoot fronts of turrets for the crits are better (gunner, loader, commander, gun, and possibly ammorack are all in the turret). Have fun picking which guy to bring back as I am reloading!

You will know bliss when you full pen all the russian mediums from the front (just aim center mass).

What tank was it? FV? ISU? KV-2? There are plenty of tanks that can 1 shot a lot of tanks because they do a massive amount of damage with their shot, but they typically have a very long reload time.

Mods only affect client side things such as graphics, user interface, automatic messaging teammates, etc. All the damage calculations, collision (hit detection), happens on the server side, preventing mods from being able to affect it.

I'd probably recommend taking one AP shell with the 183 just in case. It has insanely good penetration, and is good to have in your back pocket as in certain circumstances you'll have a better chance to kill a tank with it than HESH.

Other day I realized my M103 was just 30k away from researching the M110 E5. So I'm grinding the M103 again. I'm like 14k xp away now. I have too many researched T10 tanks that I need to buy.

Edit: Oh, and I ordered a 290x card to replace my 6950. Also on a hunt for the LG 34UM95 21:9 monitor that just released last week. Cant wait to play WoT with that set up.

Yes the M103 is a fun tank to play. It's a fairly solid tank and does some serious damage.

The update for this game still won't load for me. I keep getting an error. I suppose I should delete the WoT folder and reinstall??

I thought maybe I had bad HD sectors but I passed all the SMART tests.
