Terrible teams over the last two days for some reason. Just got finished with 32 games... 40 percent win rate. And I was playing alright (~2.4k WN8).

Did have an epically good E75 game though, which was a lot of fun. Me and an IS7 fought the game back from a loss when we were outnumbered by a bunch of Tier X's. Maybe I'll upload it at some point. Ended up with 1.5k base XP in that one, Top Gun, Mastery Badge, etc.

The kids must be out of school for the holiday. I had some horrible matches too. Had 10 teammates go to the right flank leaving the left wide open. Even worse they didn't break through and got wiped out. You know it's bad when I as a Tier III Med have the highest damage in a game of mostly IV and V's

So how many crews do you guys have? I'm at 99% for my first med tank crew. I really want to start working on skills and perks, but I also want to put them in my Tier IV tank, but if I don't pay money, they will drop to 90% ? Then I have to grind them back up. I feel like i'm at a big disadvantage not having things like sixth sense.

One other thing. A few times i've been the only tier 3 in a battle and it will start me off away from the rest of the group, and i'm the only one there. Anyone had this happen? This is with a tank, not arty. It's like they are saying 'dude, you suck, go play in the corner where you can't hurt the other kids'

I think it doesn't matter what events are going on that bad teams will always happen. Sometimes streaks or just bad moves.

Last night there was a platoon of T29s on Airfield camping at the our base at east side, there weren't many heavies to begin with and that left none for the usual "Heavies go here on hill by airfield". We got crushed.

I got 49 tanks, almost all have crews in them. Of course not all same types, Heavy, Medium, etc. If I keep a low tier tank, like Pz IVH, I'll keep the crew in it. For my T28 and T28 Prototype, I'll sell tank and move crew. Some tanks I keep, Auflarungspanzer Panther, keep crew and the Ru 251 gets a new crew. Though I recently pulled the commander from Auf to Ru 251 since I play it more and 6th sense.

I don't start transferring crews until past tier 5. Once the tank research is completed, they're usually not high enough to take a 10% loss and they would be almost right back at 75% level of a new crew. So, if I keep tank they're with the tank, if I don't, off they go into retirement.

Finally got my Ace badge in my Pershing, only took 4.8k damage. I couldn't have done it without the last surviving light tank on my team. He did spots and distractions of enemy tanks for me to pluck away. Only 4 kills, High Caliber, Confederate and no other special badges, but great game.

I have a ton of crews because I didn't really understand about transferring crews until really late in the game.

Right now, if I kept a vehicle, it pretty much has a crew. Only vehicles that don't have crews are my premium vehicles (and for the longest time they all had crews as well since I didn't understand that they can use other crews for free).

I could have done it a bit better but oh well.

Anyway, I would always buy a crew at 80 percent. It's just worth it to spend the extra credits. If I have the extra gold and I know I'm going to keep the tank, I always spend that money on a 100 percent crew. Getting a crew to 100 percent doesn't just mean that you get to unlock skills... it greatly affects everything about the tank. That %skill translates directly into how well you shoot, move, etc.

So does it take the same XP to get a crew up to 100% in every tier? The only way I was able to get my M2 Med crew at 100 was the double promotion/missions where I was getting a crew coefficient of 4. If it takes the same XP then it would be much easier to get a crew at 100 for the higher tiers?

It was painful trying to play the M2 with a 75% crew. The derpy 75mm takes a while to aim and I was always getting killed just as I was about to fire

Yes it takes the same... sort of. With bigger crews you get less of a bonus from elited tanks (double xp to one crew member). However, you earn less xp per match in the low tiers. So it takes the same number, but you get less per game.

i don't really like the m46 patton, but i have a good w/r and avg dmg in it, go figure
this sucker hits shit on the move like a boss, but if you try to snipe and let the reticle settle all the way down and fire, it can't hit the broadside of a barn wtffffff frustrating

Any opinions on the Leopard PTA? I've heard it is bad. I am at about 130k xp on my RU-251.

I have two options when I unlock it.

1. Spend my free XP when I unlock the PTA to just go straight to the Leopard 1.

2. I spend my free XP to unlock all the upgrades for the PTA and play it until unlocking the Leopard 1.

Thoughts?

I'll just say I liked my PT A eventually, and would use the free xp elsewhere, but see how you enjoy it.

the PTA is hard to play and it's very situational. On maps where it can use it's view range and hide, it's cool cos it can spot, take a shot hide back and so on. But on brawling maps, it's relegated to support more armoured tanks, cos it got no armour whatsoever, it'll never bounce anything. Speed is good and manoeuvrability too.

All in all, it's a sniper tank with decent camo. Nothing special about this tank tho.

M48 Patton is right around the corner for me XP wise, need another 1/2 million credits for it; if I get it while it's still on sale.

Is it a good medium tank? I have T-54 and stats wise, T-54 seems just better, mostly in regards to turret armor. But the M26 Pershing shows weak stats for itself too, 127mm but that gun mantlet is brings it up to 200mm and I bounce more than expected too.

Patton on the Tank Inspector doesn't show it to be as forgiving. So is it really worth it? Or just go through it to get to the tier 10 M48A1 Patton?

Never mind, M48 mantlet is HUGE. Tank Inspector doesn't show it correctly.

it fucking sucks, BUT it teaches you to play the leo1 really well as it's constantly on the knifes edge between derping and doing fuck all, and owning the shit out of a match.
the pta plays exactly like the leo1 but w/o gun depression.

i'd play thru it. i hated the pta due to gun depression, but once i got "used" to it , it's a pretty good tank.

Fair enough. Plus, it will allow me to train up my Leopard I crew in the PTA.

I won't do it stock though. I'll at least get the gun unlocked right off the bat (and tracks if needed)

What a finish. Sacred Valley, my Lorraine 51 arty and a Cromwell, enemy has t28 and a tiger.

I and the Cromwell go south and I kill the t28. tiger is capping us. Race back, it's gonna be close.

I have time to get there but don't want to get shot and lose, I aim hoping the Cromwell will light in time.

I see cap is at 90 and the Cromwell won't make it so I race to cap. Cromwell and I both get there 96, 97... he's behind a building, hits 100, team is angry.

I ram him for kill. Game ends, I think I made a mistake not going to cap quick. We won!

The Leo PTA at best is an average tank. Its best played as a sniper (like many German mediums) so put camo on it and train crew in camo. If you take the PTA to the front line you will most likely get yourself killed. Lay back and snipe till at least 50% of the battle is over. The armor doesn't really bounce much. Tanks at lower levels can damage it. Soft armor is what I call it. Takes and absorbs damage but cant do it for long. Just my own opinion of it.

well picked up the m48 patton to sit in the garage since it was cheaper during the on track discount. until it gets a buff i'll just leave it there and continue to play the m46

AT8 in a tier 8 game, Murovanka. Fuck me. Parked all the way in the back and found a tiny patch of shrub to hide behind, resigned to my fate of being speed bump against all the huge heavy tanks and AT guns on the other team. There's 4 guys with me, including a platoon of IS6s that are just mediocre.

The enemy team pushes full force in the magical forest, but stall and start dribbling in 1 at a time. I hit a couple of them, watch tier 8 tanks back up after getting hit for a piddly 150 damage and manage to kill an ISU-152 (yay). Eventually our side gets overwhelmed, but bads are bouncing off my tank and completely neglecting the giant tumor on the top of my tank. Except for a centurion who obviously knew what he was doing, so I focus on him.

The terribad T34 bounced 2 shots off my front and resorted to ramming me instead, the rest just wiggled their guns, seemingly unsure of where to aim.

I manage to do over 2600 damage against tier 7s and 8s and slowed them down long enough for my team to cap for a win. (they somehow lost 3 tanks against 3 tier 7 defenders, there was 3 tier 8s on my side including a KV4 and KV5 which are nearly impenetrable in the context). I also shot 0 golds that round.

Even a shit tank like the AT8 can be useful sometimes!

yea its amazing how high up in tiers people get and not know weakspots, but it IS setup to reach tier X's by time and failing your way to the top.

i'm so burnt out and it's still stage 1 of the campaign hahaa, i have no desire whatsoever to grind or play, even playing the campaign battles is tiring as shit right now. must...have...object907.... 4th rus med clone ftw

After about the second day, I gave up on the campaign. We went from being able to barely field 2 teams to having enough for 4 because *I WANT MY FREE TANK*. I refuse to compete with 60 other "players" when I have been online whenever possible and ready for CW whenever I am on. I am so freaking pissed that the commanders gave those no-shows a chance at it. So, yet again I think I am going clan-less.

well, fame points are STUPID, it makes clans fight themselves trying to get points....
i'd rather they just set it up as, if your clan has X amount of fame points and you played in ~10 battles during the entire campaign, you get a reward tank.

that way afk's wouldn't get one

I'll use the 15% discount to buy my PTA this weekend (though I'm still on the fence about maybe just skipping it and getting the Leopard. I have 300k free xp right now). We'll see how donkey the teams are though in terms of getting games in.

Not too bad for me so far. 62% win rate on 64 games. Maybe play higher tiers ought to help. I've been playin RU 251, "Awful Panther", T-34 and JgTig 8.8cm, E100 and IS7. Trying to get better at the latter two.
