Did anyone catch QuickyBabys stream on the new Sandbox servers that WoT has up? Some very good potential changes were done. View range nerfs for everyone but LTs. HT will have slower traverses on turret and tracks. TDs with more accuracy and aim time. Standard round and premium round nerfs. Arty pen and damage nerfs.

Neutral stuff, alpha damage nerfs across the board.

The bad? Slower MT. When arty hits you, your crew gets disoriented.

I'm mainly concerned about how they're going to screw arty. They were telling players who hate arty they'll like the changes.

Not sure how I feel about some of the sandbox options. Something of note is that they changed prem rounds back to gold rounds on the sandbox server (you can't buy them for credits anymore) though they are also massively nerfed (sometimes as little as 6mm more pen on the gold round).

I did like the more than 50% reduction in damage on the arty. Or at least, that's what it was on the T92. It only had 1,100 base damage and 24mm of pen with the same fire rate. Didn't like the "stun" feature though with massive 15m blast radius. Can't decide if that would be worse or not.

Getting rid of premium rounds is a decent choice IMO. I feel like it mostly made armor obsolete and many medium tanks OP. There was nothing wrong with the mostly gold-less play.
You bought certain tanks for their armor and they had indeed good armor. They're still balanced around that, usually having crappy speed and guns.
As for the sandbox, remember - it is NOT the test server. The changes have NOTHING to do with upcoming patches. The stats can swing to the other extreme 2 days from now.

I think I remember reading, or hearing, the reason for the change back to gold rounds, was to prevent the spamming of it on Sandbox mode. On public Test Servers, everyone just loads up gold rounds and spam it. This way they can test the changes of standard rounds and their effects to probably HT.

It obsoletes armor. If you drive a big slow ass tank, you want your strongest frontal armor to resist attacks and be weak when enemies flank. But no, people just press "2" and ignore your armor frontally.

Think about it as a heavy driver, you have nothing to press, no "2" to cripple slow fast tanks at will, but they can do it to you by ignoring your strengths.

Being slow is a liability enough, can't carry/flex and such an artillery magnet, if the armor doesn't work, it's rather pointless.

Heavy tanks are still entirely viable.

Even my E100, which is one of the largest, slowest tanks in the game is still extremely viable, even with me getting hit with premium rounds.

I have no noticed any issues with heavy tanks not working well. I play a lot of T8-T10 games as light, medium, and heavy tanks, and I am currently pretty happy with how things work. There are a few tanks that need some changes, but certainly nothing game breaking.

If I had one wish, its that skill would be taken into account for MM. I get tired of being stuck on teams with horrible players.

Oh it definitely does. And I would say at least half the matches are close in player skill. And these are the games that I like. I dislike games that have one team just roll over the other team, even if I am on the team that did the rolling.

MM does not take player skill into account at all. And even then you end up with some games where one team will have two heavies, and the other will have six. Doing MM balancing is not easy, but I do think it could be tweaked some.

Has anyone done the new 1v1 tournaments? I did the HT two weeks ago, using AMX 50 100. Lost one game to another 50 100 who had Brothers in Arms and Food. Forgot to do the food too. Some how I lost another game??? Probably because I did the que up thingy wrong. Got 250 gold out of it for 3rd place.

Today, tier 7 medium tanks. I'm using Comet with food. Crew doesn't have Brothers in Arms yet. Already have one technical victory... a no show.

8-1 Last match was another 8-0 player. I got set on fire. Otherwise would have DPM'd him out.

Well, 400 gold at least for that. 650 total in winnings.

I really like the JT, its gun is my favorite gun in the game. Perfect mix of damage, reload, pen, and accuracy. But it took me a lot of games to finally learn how to play it. So my overall win rate with it is not very good, but getting better. Last night I unlocked the M48 Patton, but have not decided if I want to buy it yet. Just bought a T62a, so thats my new T10 toy.

The Skoda TVP 50/51 is my newest t10 myself. I love the M48 Patton, just wish it went faster. It's accuracy just feels better than the Leopard 1. I have way too many tier 10s I need to buy, T92 SPG, T110E4, E50M, GWE 100 SPG, IS-4, Obj. 263 TD, China 121 medium tank, and Type 5 Heavy.

Tortoise, is the only non-tier 10 I need to buy to continue on grinding existing lines. I'll be starting Swedish MT/HT in due time. I have no plans for Swedish TD line due to the over match being changed.

I was planning to buy a three maybe four of them during Christmas time but they didn't have a 15% credit sale on any tanks. So I bought Skoda T50 (tier 9) and Bat-Chat 25t AP at regular price. Then a week or so later, the On Track Mission comes up for Skoda line. So I missed out on saving 500k credits when I bought the Skoda T50 a little early but that did allow me to grab the tier 10 quicker.

That was a fun game to watch. Not sure I am a good enough player to be critiquing somebody that is a lot better than I am. But I can see where I would have done things differently, but unlikely they would have been better choices. That line is more enticing now though.

Not sure if anybody else noticed, but the WN8 formula was changed a bit for a few tanks (until v30 comes out they say). So if you have an E50, M46, or T10 russian Meds, your WN8 dropped most likely. My M46 WN8 dropped by almost 700 points. My E50 also dropped, but not as much.
