Patching now on NA server

Be wary.

Lots of people complaining about huge lags on EU.

My system sorta sucks (x2 6000+ AM2 socket, 4 Gb, 512mb HD4870) but I've taken a heavy performance hit with the patch and can't seem to resolve it. Most are reporting performance improvements though.

I've had major issues with the loading screen which was corrupted and CTD'd me twice. Then I've had corrupt menus. Finally downloaded the full client, uninstalled the old and and installing the latest fresh client as we speak.

Unhappy days!

Apparently you can push wrecked tanks around now. Havent tried it yet myself but others talking about it.

Do the wrecks still block shots? If so, American tanks or tall tanks in general just got a huge boost. Before hiding behind wrecks was a good way to defend. Now, if the wrecks can be pushed, wrecks would be mobile cover/bunkers.

It's not like that. You won't see an IS7 pushing a T1 in front of it, barreling down the middle and killing everyone. Be reasonable.

You'll be able to move wrecks out of the way, basically; you won't be using them as portable shields. Why would you even think that way... derp

So how far can one move wrecks to get them out of the way? If just a little then it's not too helpful so blocking mid is still valid. If it's angel dependent, then I'm sure one can find the necessary angle to move it forward. If it's leashed to the point of death (which would not make any sense at all), it's grossly unrealistic.

As far as why I think this way? I'm just trying to get an advantage to win that's within the bounds of the mechanics of the game. Besides, it's fun to think of crazy stuff. ^_^

In my experience, I've done way more than that per shot, at least on the KV1 with a box turret. Hitting them on the side of the turret generally netted me upwards of 10 to 15%. Combined with the high ROF and accuracy of the 57mm, taking down a solo KV1 shouldn't be a probably as long as you can get under the turret traverse as the box turret turns extremely slowly.

Same for me. Last night against T1 Heavy and KV's I was chipping off about 10-20% hitting them in the side or rear. I even bounced two shots from a T1 heavy while I finished off a KV and then proceeded to take out the T1.

I havent had the chance yet to move the wrecks so cant say to what extent. Destroyed tanks still block shots. That I can confirm. Off to work now.

Not enjoyed the patch so far.

My Panther with 94% camo crew, 500m view range and behind a bush (albeit firing) was spotted by a KV at 283m away who was in plain sight (long strip road on Ensk, he was poking out of a side street) and I could not see him unless he fired.

Pershing was shot through a hill on the new Mountain Pass map which looks seriously beautiful.

Pershing was hit on the turret by artillery... despite the shell tracer missing my tank.

Panther was demolished on The Mines (Pagorki, face lift is amazing) in two shots. DB penetrated me and smacked my Ammo Rack, Panther hit a similar spot and exploded my ammo rack.

Compound that with idiot teams/teammates, broken game causing me to reinstall the full client and a crippling drop in frames per second despite 'ATI performance optimisations' being added to the game, I was close to just canning the game there and then. (bad day in general for various reason but these issues just took the cake)

Any ideas for me to improve performance that don't involve overclocking my processor? (Though that is a nice idea). Might I be running out of VRAM at 1920x1080? Has my overexuberance at picking up a very early HD4870 cost me dearly?

The old ones as well as the new ones. Graphically I'm pleased with things. Still getting used to some things though like changed/new maps and new tanks that are appearing. Got a four day weekend coming up. You know where I'll be. See ya in game if you are on the N.A. server.

Draw distance was the killer for some reason.

Reduced that to low and maxed out everything else... and I still get better FPS than everything at low/off and Draw Distance at max.

The 2 easiest things that I usually do to improve performance is to reduce AA and if need be reduce resolution. Also play full screen if your not already, as almost all games take a hit in fps if played in windowed mode. The game does seem to suffer from fps stutters for no reasons sometimes. I'll be getting 60+ fps and every once in awhile it will drop to around 7 for a quick moment. The game also suffers from some memory leaks If I play long enough it will tell me its running out of memory and reduce my map textures automatically, to the point where I have to restart the game after a few hours of play.

The lag yesterday was getting pretty horrible, but hopefully today things will have cleared up with everyone having d/led the patch. I hope it was just patch d/ling clogging up thier servers that was causing the lag and not something introduced in this patch.

I seemed to have bounced alot more shots off a KV-3 with my VK3601 yesterday, I just hope thats coincidence and not part of a patch change.

I finally powered through the A-20. I found I would get more xp just flying to the enemies base, spotting everyone and subsequently dying than actually trying to hit anyone. Just spotting everyone and not firing a shot would net me 500+ xp and 8-10k credits. Thats not so bad for 30 seconds of waiting and 20 seconds of driving.

I'm now less than 10k xp away from my tiger and jagpnzer and I unlocked the KV-1 yesterday (already unlocked the KV-3, just have to buy the stupid thing). Now I'll just need another 3M+ credits and some extra garage slots to buy all the new tanks I want. I guess things would be easier if I wasn't trying to advance down 4 seperate paths.

Yeah, part of my advancement slowness is that I'm doing American Medium, American Heavy, German Medium, German Heavy, and Russian Medium all at the same time. That plus I like to jump into my sweet little T26 and play some Tier 2 matches. No rush though. I got years to play assuming the game and my interest continues. I noticed that with the T34/85 I can jump over to a KV13 and then to the Russian IS. I might do that. Which makes one more line I'll be taking on. LOL

Maybe it's just my random bad luck. But I thought this patch was going to fix the King Tiger mantlet problem. However in the few games i've had past 6.4, I've had my gun destroyed more than ever!

Many guns are easy to hit. Good. I'm tired of bouncing shells when firing at a green chevron.

Bought the T34/85 today. Played several battles. Is it me or do the Russians and Germans have better 75/76mm guns than the Americans? I seem to do more damage with them than the American counterparts. T29 seems to have a weaker low front end now too. I'm doing more damage to a T29 down low than I used to. Off to work now. Cheers!

I don't think anything changed with the T29 hull armor, its always been pretty weak, but that is why the turret has such an amazing amount of armor. Its good to hear the 34-85 is competitive against a T29 though, as I'll be getting into my own 34-85 tonight hopefully, and I look forward to it.

I just got the 90mm for my M6..which I thought would make it decent to play. Not So!! ugh..I hope this gets better.

On the other hand...T-28 with 57mm Zis is much more fun than my T-34 with the same weapon.

You will either love/hate the T29. If you hate it, then stop on the American heavy line because the rest are the same play style. The T29 lets you get the big 105mm, but the ammo is expensive at 1k per round, so you need to be sure of what you are aiming for. The 105mm then goes on to be the gun for the T32 as well and you don't get anything different until the T34. With these moveable wrecks, I've had the chance to get into some good positions with my T29. Moving a wreck you only go 1km/h, but you can move them to give you a great position in which none of your hull is showing, and unless you are matched with some big boys, the 279ish armor on the front of that turret will bounce everything. Just watch for the "ears" on the upgraded turret. The have 0 armor value and so you take full damage every shot.

The 90mm M3 is not great for the M6 tank but is brutal on the T220 and pitiful for the T23 (top gun for all three tanks).

Similar with the T32 imo. For Tier 8, the 105mm T5E1 is weak.

Though (imo) the T29's 105mm T5E1 is 'overpowered'. It's a bit of swings and roundabouts.

I'm still on the T1. Havent played it last few days. Not finding it real fun. Spending most of my time on the German Medium, Heavy, and Russian Medium line tanks. Sometimes the Sherman M4 too. Its looking like the American line tanks will take a backseat to everything else in my case. Not worried though. I have all the time in the world. Assuming we don't blow it up any time soon. LOL

When using Steam Chat and Steam Overlay, can we change the place where the pop-up on message actually pops up?

Annoying as hell when someone sends 2-3 messages and completely blankets your minimap.
