I decided to unlock some extra garrage slots and I bought me a T-34. I already had the best gun unlocked from some other russian line which was a nice bonus. This tank is much more fun than the slow, lumbering KV and KV-3. Its going to be great once I put add-ons on this tank and get my crew trained up.

Also been having fun playing my tiger. Got the crew maxed now and the 8.8cm gun rarely bounces against other heavies. The gun is also very accurate and I routinely get sniper when playing. I've also been paying attention to the amount I make on my tiger compared to the number of hits. It seems that I make a little over 3K credits per hit.

Elcs: Any news on when the next patch will hit and what changes it will bring?

damn looks like the panther is going to get nerfed? i started down the medium line, maybe i should go back to the heavy german line

• New map Mannerheim Line (working title, subject to change)
• US tank destroyers line: Т18, Т82, Т40, M10, M36, T25, T28, T95
• New tank M46 Patton, a substitution to M26 Pershing as tier 9 US medium tank. Changes to US medium tanks line according to the revised US tech tree
• Multiple bug fixes and improvements to v.6.4.

Its worth it. Its not like Eve that you will be in your starter tank and thrown in with top guys. You will be matched accordingly with tanks at or near your level. You can have fun pretty easily without paying a single cent to the game. Some of us choose to pay to make things go by faster.

it's nowhere near my tier, but within the ~5 tier diff for matchmaking

so for the most part you're gonna be outclassed, rarely do i get put in as the top dog in my 2 tier 5's

because your starter tank certainly will be thrown in against top level guys in the vast majority of games, until you are in a top tank yourself (when it becomes your turn to squash little guys). while being matched against opponents several tiers higher, you will struggle to fight an opponent only 1 tier higher. your comment makes me wonder if you've even played this game.

It all depends on what tanks are trying for play slots. Sometimes you'll be the top dog, other times you'll be in the middle of the pack and yes, at times you'll be something the other tanks scrape off the bottom of their treads. That's what keeps it interesting. Your style of play will always be affected by your relative strength when compared to your opponents.

And just because you're a newcomer doesn't mean you can't ever do well in this game. If you do a search on WoT and read the stats for other players you'll see that some are obviously very, very good while others still stink after thousands of matches. It's almost as if they're playing Mario Kart instead of a strategy/FPS.

Terrain, cover, concealment, aiming points, maneuverability, speed, etc all play a HUGE role in this game. Much more so than a lot of players seem to realize. It's not just a 'point and shoot' game. You need to really think about what you're going to do before you start and be ready to adjust your strategy as the battle unfolds in order to remain an effective team member throughout your entire match.

a good player CANNOT HARM a tank 3 tiers above his. it's not unusual to have a 6 tier spread in a random match.

I've never been matched with a tier 10 and only rarely a tier 9 when playing any of my tier 5 tanks. Playing my tier 5s it seems a decent split between ending up top tier, mid tier, or bottom tier matched. I do seem to notice that during non-peak hours (middle of the day, or very late) that I seem to get stuck in the lower end more often though. Even if you are bottom tier you can still damage a decent amount of the enemy tanks if not all of them.

This is also a team game and each team has the same number of tanks from each tier. Its usually the team that works together or stays in larger groups that end up winning.

He's probably at work or somewhere like that where the Network Admin has the servers set to block certain types of websites. For example where I work anything gaming related is 'ACESS DENIED!'


Also I'm not happy they added another map with a Town/Village. So sick of maps with buildings. NO MORE BUILDINGS FOR GODS SAKE!

Also if you're trying to 1v1 a tank 3 tiers higher, you're doing it wrong. By the way I've got multiple Lowe kills using my KV.

Your tank crew gains experience as you play that tank, and how experienced your crew is affects the perfomance of the tank. You also gain research to unlock better guns/turrets/tracks/engines and new tanks. You can't expect to kick ass right out the gate. Also once you're dead you can exit the battle and join another one using a different tank.

HE won't help you when you're out-classed, and HE on the smaller guns is totally worthless. HE is only a factor when using the huge guns, like your kv's 152mm.

true HE won't help much, but you're using it to hope for a fire or module damage, the 1-2% damage is just so you know it's doing something LOL

I use the 107 on the KV. I don't think I could handle the 20+ sec reload on the 152, nor the shitty accuracy.

Anyway, the only tank that I felt completely worthless playing as bottom tier was the A-20. The gun on that thing has trouble penetrating tanks a tier lower. Its only good at making a run for the other teams arty, and hoping your arty helps take them out. You could also kill yourself ramming arty, such a shit tank. Amazingly you could still make 500xp and 10k credits on just spotting the other team, and even more if you actually killed an arty.

And while you are at it, please post a screenshot of a starter tank being in a match with "top level guys" (that isn't platooned.) I believe the matchmaking won't allow a Tier 1 to be with tanks higher than Tier 3.

If you struggle to fight opponents 1 tier higher than you, you're doing it wrong. I doubt any of the normals in here are going to whine, cry, and cut themselves over having to face a Tier 9 in a Tier 8. If you are a Tier 6 in a match with a Tier 9, maybe you should make yourself useful and kill the other Tier 6/7 in there so that the higher tiers can worry about the enemy higher tiers. So tired of getting into games when people cry about being near the bottom of the list. Learn your role and don't expect to be able to always be able to kill everyone you match with.

even if loltraktors aren't matched with tier 10's, tier 2 tanks certainly are. you should be in a tier 2 tank in less than an hour of starting. from then on, prepare to be food by design.

I have kept a tier 2 tank because I enjoy it. The match ups for tier 2 seem fine to me.
