Whether you use the 107mm or the 122mm on the KV3 is dependent on your play style. The 107mm is a good gun for all ranges. Its very good for laying back and shooting and even sniping. Up close its just as accurate. Its more accurate than the 122mm. However if you like to get in close and do massive damage then the 122mm does fit that bill. Its not as accurate or as fast loading as the 107mm however and you have to get your slow poke tank in close but some people like that type of fighting.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the 122mm on the KV? The KV is the one with the inaccurate howitzer 122mm gun. The KV-3's 122mm is basically identical to the 107mm (0.4 accuracy vs 0.39 for the 107), it just has higher damage, lower RoF and slightly better pen.

IMO the 107 is the better gun to use on the KV-3 unless you're going to buy a rammer for it.

the tiger is probably my favorite tank to play. it has enough speed and power to not be miserable. also, it returns decent credits and xp.

Just got my Panther II. Barely able to afford it tbh. Haven't even been able to retrain my crew yet!

I have to say, I am not a perfect match for my Panther but the average exp I earn with it is very close to the M26 Pershing and second top of my list.

Sold my VK3601 for the honour of this tank. Perhaps not the best idea as it leaves me with just two garage slots left, the KV and the SU-85, for credit grinding. I plan to replace the SU-85 with a KV-3 later.

Right now, I'd love 2-3 garage slots as well as a Lowe... but neither are in my rl budget. They'll have to wait until I can hook up with clans who pay gold in exchange for services.

Credits are the bane of my WoT existance.

VK3001(P) is a dog - Don't upgrade it at all
VK3002(DB) is a good, solid, fast tank - A little undergunned, penetration-wise. Not for killing heavies with very often.
Pzkpfw V Panther is awesome. Lacks close range turning power but is a dream at range, with support. It is ideal for moving behind an advance or providing overlapping fields of fire. I used coated optics to enhance my constant view range to 500m and 100% camo skill, which makes it ideal as a forward scout/sniper.

Panther II... a little more testing needs to be done but even with a 75% crew, I'm finding it quite nice.

i usually try not to upgrade anything but the gun if it's used in the next tank, isn't it a long ass grind to get to the panther tho w/o upgrading?

Went on vacation and came back to a bunch of different maps and tanks. Saw a listing of all the stuff but it seems like the only big buff is the tiger and tiger II mantlet. Haven't fought any jagdtigers so I can't say whether the change made them more beefy or not... I have noticed tanks disappearing a lot more often now though, and my TD seems to be spotted way more often.

Anybody still getting stuck on cliff surfaces? Think the patch was suppose to fix getting stuck everywhere.

I had the Tiger and KT in beta so I know they are good (once fully upgraded) and fun to use. I'm thinking I might go higher this time. Curious how the 4502 plays. The Maus still doesn't interest me though so doubt I'll try it.

Update: Bought the Tiger tonight. Played a few games and man did it suck LOL. Bad teams and the first 88mm didn't do much damage. Then I thought... try that 105mm and BAMMO! making good creds and xp now. Its good for short and medium ranges which is where most fights take place at anyway. I'll keep using it till I get the last 88mm gun. Maybe even after I can get it. LOL

The tiger is a great tank once you get it fully upgraded. I have mine fully upgraded with a camo net, rammer and vents, and my crew is around 75% camo. Unfortunately the tiger rarely bounces shots, but it does have enough HP to give it considerable staying power as long as your not focused by 3-4 tanks at once. I would advise carrying an extinguisher, medkit and repair kit with you (I put them on all my tanks). It definately makes a difference if you can repair a damaged loader rack, or dead gunner when you still have 50%+ of your hp remaining.

I've only got another 10k xp to grind out on my tiger till I unlock the tiger 2. Unfortunately I need another 800K credits to afford it, which will take me longer to get than the xp.

I had a match-up over the weekend with 3 panthers matched against 3 lowes. I thought my team didn't stand a chance with the mediums paired against the heavies. I couldn't have been more wrong. Those 3 panthers obliterated the other team and accounted for more than half the kills. I'm starting to regret not going down the german medium line.

The Lowe is not as invincible as people originally thought. Tough tank yes but if you know their weak spots and have a good enough gun then they are not hard to deal with. Most people just go 2 vs 1 against them and defeat them that way.

However, I will say it again the Lowe makes some serious creds and makes it fast. If I need creds to buy something i just jump into my Lowe and play a little while. Fastest damn cred earner I have seen yet in this game. I'm looking forward to comparing that to other T8 and higher tanks. I don't remember my IS4 in beta making that kind of creds so fast but we'll see.

I got my King Tiger last week...it was a pretty big letdown from the Tiger, but I guess I expected it since it was completely stock. I went tracks then turret and just the those made a huge different. The stock turret is TERRIBLE. Most things could pen the turret, so I had to play far back like you do with a Tiger. Now I can sit up close and bounce quite a few shots.

I also got my IS3 this weekend. Its not as crazy as many make it out to be. I actually get really scared to face other Tier 8 tanks unless I am in a great position. I don't have the BL9 yet, which is probably another reason why it feels below the other Tier 8's. I am at 74k of 100k to the T32 and an elite T29.

They don't really compare at all. I've had really good games in my KT and only made around 40-50k where a good game in a Lowe can make you 80-100k.

You could go into a game in the Lowe, shoot 1 person and go AFK and still make 15-30k probably.

Well I finally got up into the US heavy line. How do you guys play the T1/M6? T1 is driving me mad at the moment. Even with the upgraded 76mm gun the gun just isn't powerful enough to really snipe (has something like 1/3 the damage and half the pen compared to the 107 on the KV), but the tank just isn't tough enough for closer combat. So far it actually seems worse than the M3 Lee, since I'm constantly tossed in with Tier 7-8 tanks that I have no ability at all to damage.

Panther is using a barebones 89% crew, it is Elite and has Optics/Rammer/Vert Stab... it is AWFUL compared to a 100% crew, nevermind my max crew with max camo and 70% repair.

i've noticed an improvement going from 99 to 100%. taking the 50% option is unthinkable.

Anyway - just had one of my better all around games today. Not the most kills but a 97% accuracy rating after 31 shots isn't too shabby and I hit almost every one of their team's tanks. Two hits for no damage. First round of the night too! (One of these days I will get some gold and buy premium...) Sharpshooter, Master Gunner, Sniper, Confederate
