Actually, I did read your posts and it's you whining about 6 different things ranging from ghost shots, how you don't want to farm credits to play your t10 and losing clan mates to a variety of reasons. You also don't want to buy a lowe and play arty. k.

In every mmorpg you have to grind to raid. You know, farming so you can afford pots, repairs, consumables? In this game the grind is made easier by having a premium account. You can't have your pie and eat it too. No MMORPGs out there do this, why should this? You're "angry about the system" when all I see is someone that doesn't want to farm and still wants to raid.

Also kills mean nothing, you should know that by now. If you did as much damage as you said you did (with a premium account) you should be making 30k + every match.

PowerYoga you begin to see what I am saying. But you speed read my posts. I have enjoyed this game thoroughly. "Nothing beats learning to drive a tank pre-sattellite link up".
And no. Even with premium if a KV is mid or low tier and 1 shotted, even with premium you will be lucky to break even. "doing 300-400% or more." The point is you HAVE to pay if you want t10 tanks. Its not a debate. T8 + is only free if you have a lot of time and are an excellent micromanager. Thats the developers choice. Under t8 is free. Converting exp saves time. Which is often worth more than money. BUT if my friends (clannmates) leave the game because they are disgusted (most of my clanmates have paid some if not a lot of real money to stay competitive), I am going to look for other games to play as well.

humor- "World of Tanks becomes completely free except for everyone except for buying tanks which now all tiers are available for real money (like premium tanks) in 2012 as all of the Atlantic coast sinks into the sea in a massive tsunami." Its no worse than Magic Online or that RTS online card game. But, I want to play my high tier tanks without interruption. My clannmates do too. Winning should be rewarded, but losing should not cause someone to have to stop playing the game.

Got my T29 tonight. Got the suspension and the 90mm gun. Now grinding the rest. The second turret is only 9600 xp but the 105mm is 40,700 xp. Yuck! Oh, well. Grind on!

My T-29 is elited, and I've switched from the 105 back to my 90 because I actually earn more credits and XP with it (it's better suited to taking out mediums and lower). WIth HE rounds it actually does more damage per minute than the 105. I can't even fire warning shots at inconsiderate drivers with my 105 cause it costs me 1000 credits to do so. I also don't take a shot with my 105 unless I'm 90% sure it's going to hit.

The tank is a little faster as well since the gun is lighter. I'm trying to level up my crews 2nd skills and along with my Lowe, earn enough credits to buy the T-32. I'm going to keep the T-29 as it's a joy to play.

This is the first post I've seen saying pick the 90mm over the 105, every other post I've seen said get the 105 asap. Interesting to hear your suggestion. Not sure.

Again, you're bitching about not being able to break even above tier 5 without a premium account when it is by design this way. I'm not seeing a problem here.

Also if you're losing money with the KV, you're doing something horribly wrong. Maybe the problem isn't with the game but its with you.

There's no question IMO that the T-29 is a better rank with the 105, but I'm sure you will earn more money with the 90.

The 105 is rediculously accurate tho. *My master gunner rating on the T-29 is 54 hits in a row.

I'll try to do some comparisons when I get home this afternoon.

I'm currently grinding towards a T25AT and a Tiger P. I love my Slugger and don't mind that grind, but the vk3001 P is such a slow dog of a tank. I really don't feel like wasting XP to get the better engines since I'm just going to sell it.

I want that Tiger P though, tired of my squishy Tiger H but love that long88.

I should be able to finally rid myself of the M3 Lee tonight! Woot. What a POS. Not a tank, not a TD, just a free kill. It also consistently gets matched against tanks that I can't even harm. I can't even be a suicide rammer since the stupid thing tops out at about 12km/h (ok, maybe 38).

I'm enjoying the M7 medium tank though. Its very fast but the armor is stupid thin. The matchmaker loves it though and i'm usually in the middle or higher.

starting at that point you'll frequently be put into battles where you can't hurt much. The sherman is a bit better with the derp gun though, can hurt quite a lot of things. I think its more of the matchmaker's fault than the Lee's fault though, it's actually quite punchy for its tier.

Well, I didn't try to do any "scientific" tests of 90mm vs 105mm for the T29, just played a few games with each to get a feel for how they compare. General thoughts:

*T29 is definitely more fun with the 105mm.
*Definitely makes more money with the 90mm.
*Even on losses I was usually able to make decent (10-15k+) profits with the 90mm; on the 105 those get eaten by ammo costs.
*Less damage, and less xp with the 90mm.
*On paper, the 90mm is actually more accurate, but I seemed to miss more with it. Maybe the faster reload makes you more willing to take uncertain shots?

I would say, use the 90mm for grinding credits, and the 105mm for grinding xp or having fun. Either way you definitely want to unlock the 105mm with the T29 so you can drop it in the T32 ASAP.

Man, just had one of my best games in the pz38na ever. The map was Ruinsberg, and I was at the bottom of the pack with IS and tigers topping out (along with a panther 2), so I thought "alright, screw this" and proceed to blaze down the west side of the map with suicidal thoughts in my head. Along the way I spot the panther 2 (popped off a shot at him, it dinged), a pershing and an IS that fired at me but missed. A few more red blips popped up on my radar and I start making evasive maneuvers, and shells crashed in around me but left my little dinky tank unscathed.

I hug the series of buildings on the north end, blazing into the enemy flag looking for the only hummel they had. I find it, see it fire off a round into the distance and smile as I tear it to pieces. 1 kill.

Then an explosive shell hits me and takes off half of my health and damages both of my tracks. The t-34/85 had the derp gun and I scoot around the corner of a building, and the t-34/85 gives chase. I scream like a little girl in my apartment as it rounds the corner the same time I round the far side of the building, and it pops off another shot and misses. I lead him around the building two more times, but thought to myself that he'd get smart and maybe stop circling this little building with me and I'd smack right into his 76mm.

So I make tracks for the church. Along the way I spot an su-85, it starts to turn towards me when 3 shells tear it to pieces. I blaze pass the church, see the pershing engaged with our tiger and t-34/85, and decide to take a detour and circle back around the church.

And my good old friend, the t-34/85 shoots and misses again and starts scooting towards me. I go full speed towards it, fully intending to swerve around it and head for the flag capture. He turns at the last minute cutting off my path, and I crank my tank in the other direction and BARELY make it past him, scraping just a tiny bit and I lose half of my speed in a huge turn.

So now I'm crawling along at 30 km/h, and I have half a building left to go before I have the safety of the walls to protect me. I see him stop in his tracks, take aim at me, and I start driving like those guys on world's wildest police chases, making random turns and eventually a giant half circle. He misses, and I make it back around the corner. I make for the church again, and this time circle around to the other lane to the west.

I make my way around the block and... guess what! My friend the T-34/85 is face hugging our IS and lost half of its hp. Just for shits and giggles I pop off a few shots at him, the IS fires the same time I do and apparently gets him down to 1%. Because I got the kill! Can't imagine how mad that guy was...

My teammates had a hoot as I stroll in to the flag cap zone along with an IS and 2 other tanks, and the other team's pershing soon expires. Never had so much fun on a light tank before!

I think I will pass on buying this game. Will buy Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty MW3 instead.

Thanks for your honesty.

Yeah, I could make 2000XP on a first-win-of-the-day with the 105, and actually make money, but since I'm grinding credits, I'm using the 90mm. Once I have enough to buy the T32, I'll switch back to the 105, which was a joy, but the 90mm is still fun and yes, I miss more, but only because I take shots that I know aren't guaranteed because it doesn't cost me much to miss with it.

Had some great defeats last night. Top tier IS and I just rolled through the abbey taking on anything and anyone. A storm panzer II was lighting me up the whole way but that was about the only thing damaging me. I took the base and started capping. Then our entire flank died within seconds of eachother and 4-5 mediums stormed our defenses. They started capping when a Marder II comes around a corner and shoots me in the ass resetting my timer. 6 kill Loss.

In my Panzer III on Ensk in a Tier 7 game. I successfully scout and kill an enemy hummel, spot the other arty and shoot at it before getting tracked for a second time (repair kit fixed me up the first time). Took out a Lee that was gunning for me. Our other scout buzzed passed and killed the other arty while my tank took on a Panther and other mediums (by that I mean I died a split second later!). Our heavies in the town mopped up but a horde of unchecked mediums stormed around and went for our flag. I warned multiple times but not a SINGLE unit that could have defended turned around. This one was a very annoying loss as we could have won this if people did not suffer from tunnel vision.

On El Haluf in my Easy 7.5 on a Tier 9 game. I scout up the twistback ridge and locate the defenders on the hill which are promptly taken out. I start dancing with a pershing using the switchback to my advantage (he will not commit knowing we have guns aimed there). For a good 5 minutes I am keeping this guy busy before an ISU suicides around the turn and one shots me. My team avenges me and we look to be doing well all over the place. But then their arty decimates our North and they start to rush our base. That's when I notice that we have a Pershing just sitting there doing NOTHING. Obviously it has been plinking from afar and not wanting to get damaged. Now he has to take on multiple mediums and survive arty to win. He died 10-20 seconds later.

I think you can have a lot of fun in this game without paying a penny by just playing lower tier tanks. Example:

Light: bunch of choices, like the BT-2, Luchs, Leopard
Arty: SU-26 (why play any other)
Tank Destroyer: T82, Stug III
Medium: M4

The first heavy I see people really like is a bit higher, though, T-29.

Going higher seems just if you want the higher tanks to have them, or for clan games.

I bought some gold, for garage and barracks space and some crew training.

su-85 with the 107

also the marder is a bitch to play against, seems that thing hurts everything it's matched up against.

i also agree tier 5 and below is the sweet spot for fun where you constantly make $

Or just play for free. You're not forced to buy anything.

Yup. I'm not sure why folks feel like they need to constantly play Tier 10 tanks in order to have fun.

I have the whole Russian Heavy line elited at this point and almost have the entire Russian TD elited, along with the American Medium and TD lines researched. I don't find playing high tier matches to be all that fun anymore. Too many people raging at each other, camping, and just downright snooze fests depending on what map you get planted on.

In the time it takes to get through 1 tier 8-9 battle on a map like El Halluf, Komarin, or Malinovka, I could probably have had 3-4 exciting matches in a tier1/tier2 tank.

The best game I ever had was in my MS-1. I had 11 kills and earned two epic medals for that battle. My favorite matches are tier1/tier2 over any other. My only gripe about tier1/tier2 is the limited number of maps in the rotation compared to the other tiers.

If you want to play for free and have a good time get yourself an MS-1 and Pz 35t. You can get to tier 5/6 playing for free without any real problem either.

I play maybe 4-5 matches a day these days getting my daily doubles in the tanks I am still researching and if I get through them quick enough then I always jump into my MS-1 or Pz 35t for a match or two.

Heh - the highest kills in a round I have is with my PzII with 11 kills in the Beta. It was also that way in the release (although I think it was 10 kills with the PZII) until I finally beat that with my Stug. I also love low tier battles in my Leo

For me the best XP tank seems to be the KV. It has my record XP and I almost beat that last night. The 107 can do some real damage esp if the high tier tanks show their flanks while fighting other tanks

Side note: The matchmaker seemed to love me last night which was a pleasant change. The teams I played on were generally excellent as well. Much like Possessed, my little Pz38 was running around spotting much much larger vehicles (jagdtigers, IS tanks, Panther IIs etc) and my team just kept pummeling them from afar as I raced around trying to to get squished.

It was great to see the turrets follow me, cringe as they stayed on target and waiting for the inevitable and lackluster end when suddenly that tank is destroyed from multiple friendly hits
