Had some good fun with my T44 today. I wish I could try out the T54 because I dont think I'll get one before the hard wipe and release. If I play after release I'll definitely go down the Russian medium line again. I like the IS4 but not sure I'd want to grind down the Russian heavy line again. The KV line really was slow and not so much fun. Of course half of it I didnt have premium and thats what made it suck so badly.

I also played around in my little T26 for a while too. Tier 2 games are just so much fun. I really like the T26. Of course mine is tricked out buy hey, fun is fun. I'd get one again if I play after release. The T34 is another tank I like to go back to. That 57mm gun doesnt do much damage but damn it has great accuracy and with a gun rammer you can just put out a steady line of lead that eventually will kill if the enemy ignores you. Its a fun middle tier tank to play.

I sure hope they make some new maps. And no more city or town/village maps dangit! Gimme some open land with no buildings on the Russian Steppes. Room to move and fire. Thats what I want. Oh, Yeah!

The T-44 was one of my favorite tanks. Fast, durable and the gun packs enough of a punch to damage the tier 9 heavies from the side. My only complaint is the absolute essential need for a wet ammo rack... the ammo rack explodes so much without it. I've lost count of the number of ammo rack damages on that tank... It's like they are trying to use the ammo to shield the tank from shells. -_-

Actually, I've never liked the 100mm guns in this game. I've always thought them weak. I guess if it had something better it'd be overpowering. People must consider the T44 a threat though because they really like to go after me when I show up in it. When in the T34 people tend to ignore me but not when in the T44.

The t-34 is an absolute beast in the proper bracket. The gun (76mm? I think) reload super fast and just tears up everything in its tier. However, I noticed it does bounce a lot against bigger stuff even on the sides, and it doesn't have enough HP to last vs higher tier heavies... I think most people ignore it because either 1) they can't hurt it enough or 2) they can kill it in 1 shot whenever they want. Not to mention its almost impossible to snipe with it so you have to dogfight...

As for the 100mm.... I think it's pretty decent. It takes a bit of getting used to and you can't run and gun with it too much. After adjusting my playstyle a bit more I found it very enjoyable to use. In a pack the gun is great when you get those side shots. My only complaint is that you pretty much use this gun from the t34-85 until the t-54.... at tier 6 its great but at tier 8 it doesn't have enough punch. I suppose it does reload a bit faster in a t-54 though...

The 76 or 100 are good, the T54 becomes amazing when you put the bigger gun on it. I found the Soviet Medium line enjoyable all the way up where as the German and American meds have many many more sore spots.

I havent tried the 76mm gun on the T34. I use the 57mm. Most people on the forums seem to think its better than the 76mm. I can say that the 57mm is extremely accurate at all ranges and while on the move. It doesnt do great amounts of damage per shot but with a rammer it can lay down some steady lead. Its great as a sniper or as a support tank. Get into a T34 group and they can do some serious damage. I like to follow a group of T43/44 and T54s when possible.

Also, I've even been able to use it effectively as a scout when a Leo or A20 is not available. Its not as good for scouting as those faster smaller tanks but it can be done. Its a really good tank to have fun in this game and earns good money. I'll have to try the 76mm gun sometime and see how it is.

Agreed. The t-44 is the most fun I've had in the lineup, more so than the t-54 because i don't get matched up against maus or is-7 quite so much.

I feel like the acceleration on the t-34 is not good enough to get it out of tight spots for efficient scouting. Sure it has a good top-speed but I rarely hit that on flat ground. In the game where you are the scout (on the bottom), often times you're matched with big tanks that will kill you in 1 shot. The armor and HP is not sufficient protection...

I like the 57mm as well, but the 76 is nice for a different playstyle. the 57 is much better for dogfighting, the high firing rate allows you to just tear up light tanks and penetrate heavier ones on the side.

I still like the pIII for scouting though.

The only time to purchase gold at a volume discount and also receive bonus tanks is during this pre-order window.

Cost is free. For Premium you'll pay $10 a month. Some of the current maps will be reworked they say. I assume more upgrades, tanks, and patching will continue after release. The company is not very big. If you watch the youtube video of their party you can see its just a few guys and a couple of women that run everything. Its a small company so dont expect huge changes all at once. More like little things here and there.

Hope they do another run of 5x XP before the hard wipe - I want to try to run up a medium tree if they do.

I'm hooked as well. It's a simple team deathmatch, yet I keep going back for more. Look forward to seeing where the devs go with this once released.

will you still get some small amount of gold free like now?

Gold will cost dollars. Premium ($10) will get you 2500 gold. Enough for a month of extra xp/creds or whatever you plan to use it for. At least thats what I been hearing them say. In one YT video the lead dev there says it as well. Far as I know those plans have not changed.

Playing on and off a bit today I'm really pondering how the hell to get money with an IS3. Running premium, I barely break even on most games I win, no more than 1-2k credits and lose that much on any I lose. That on games that actually go decently and don't end up dead early on and get to do some damage. Thinking to switching to a heavier use of just HE ammo cause it's cheaper.

Of course, bigger profits on games where the team just stomps but those are rare compared to slug fests where being a heavy you are going to get shot at a lot and damaged.

I really don't see ppl getting past the IS, IS 3 without premium and the KV/ KV3 would be a horrendous grind without.

I had similar problems. I too have premium. If the team lost then I broke even or maybe lost some if I died early without hitting or killing anything. Which did happen at times. Most times though you should never do worse than break even when the team loses. When your team wins and you survive you can make decent money depending on if and how many you killed or hit. If you are dying too often then maybe change your strategy and hang back a bit more often and stay out of spotting sight as much as possible. Since the last balance patch a IS3 is a big target in this game because often you are at the top of the list or near to it so you are the big bad boy to kill. Arty will be looking for you and so will all the saller tanks.

The trick with playing in the higher tier tanks of say T7 or higher I have found is to make sure you have some T4 -T6 tanks that you can play to earn yourself some quick cash to get you the ammo you need and to repair your higher level tanks if you need it. Premium of course is essential as well. Personally, I love the T34 and KV3 for this purpose alone although I do also enjoy playing them anyway. They make good quick cash whether you win or lose. Mainly due to their ability to hit something and low repair costs. The VK3601 is another fun tank I use for some quick cash.

Also, I always try to leave myself at least 100k creds in my bank after buying next tank or upgrade. That way I don't have to rely so heavily on my mid tier tanks to support my high end game play. Premium is essential in this game and that's the way they set it up so I imagine they'll make some money once everyone figures this out come release.

Edit: The IS4 is infinitely better of a tank than the IS3 and you will kill things, last longer, and make money with it if you have premium. The auto balance throws you back into the mid to upper part of the list so you are not the big top target like you are with the IS3. You do however play with the T10 big boys much more often and they can be difficult to kill. You will use HE ammo more often.

Haha never gonna get the is4 in time.

Was really thinking about the break even thing in conjunction with the free to play thing. I don't think many ppl will get past the kv-3 is to the is3 without paying up. Which is the point of the way the game is set up really.

You can get to T-10 and maintain cash flow without Premium as long as you keep other money making tanks in your garage and play them regularly. I found The M7 with 6lber to be a good money maker as well as the Easy 8. KV and KV-3 both also made me a good amount of money as did the M41. I got up to IS without Premium and had no problems doing so. The long grind on the higher tier tanks would be painful without the Premium boost to xp/gold. Currently have IS-4, Jagdpanther, T23 and M41 in the garage along with a few million in the bank. Dunno how interested I will be after release in grinding up the trees again, especially in light the of the imbalances between nations/tanks, in particular the disparity in top tier mediums.

You definitely want premium for the KV and KV3. I had it for the KV3 and not the KV. Gawd, how I hated the KV! The KV3 fully upgraded is not so bad once fully upgraded. I kept mine. It makes good money and performs decently when used as a sniper hanging back near base. I sold the KV right away I hated it so much. That thing stood out so much everyone shot it and laughed while doing it. Not that I blame them.

I was looking at the latest newsletter that came out few days ago. Here it is.

I just got the ferdinand and I'm surprised at how... not-fun it is to play in comparison to the Jagdpanther. It has the same gun but its going up against the huge tanks (is-7, Maus, etc...) that I can barely ding with the 10.5. It's super slow (without the upgrades) and the good gun is 63000 freaking research points away... and I get maybe 300-500 exp per game on premium if I'm lucky. Did I mention its super slow??

What the heck am I supposed to do to get it upgraded besides use converted exp? >:|

Ferdinand is alright, once you get the gun it is truly badass though, and way better than the JP in just about every way, the best games are when you're near the top and its like you're driving a heavy tank with a gun that can instantly kill anyone.

It took me a while to get used to the Ferdi. It is such a change from the low profile, zipply awesomeness that is the Jagdpanther. So much so that I kept the Jagdpanther thinking I would not play the Ferdi much. In reality I have not played the panther much at all since getting the ferdi. Sure you are slower (took a while to get used to) but you will bounce way more shots. And, while it takes a bit to get there the 12.5 cm gun is well worth it! It really makes the Ferdi fun to play - way more so than my full upgraded Jagdpanther (which I loved dearly)

The only times I get into real trouble is if I have to fight a close quarters battle. The turning speed is horrid so it is pretty easy for a med tank or even some heavies to kill me if they can get up along side/behind me
