It's actually very good, menu's are kinda complicated, but gets boring fast.

Could put that down to being a smoggy

It can stagnate for some people early on because of the lack of tanks, lack of credits and thus slower turn around.

Once you start getting into Tier 7 tanks, you start opening up the fun and real interesting tactics in my experience.

Last couple days I been having some really good battles in my VK3601. Played a little with my T26, T34, and IS4 as well. I tend to run through all my tanks and whichever one seems to give me the best luck or most fun is the one I tend to stick with the most that day. Odd way to play I know but works for me. Some days I just can't seem to do good at a certain tier level for some reason and I have to go find a level where I'm doing good. Its no longer about pushing a tank line to the highest tier level but more about just having fun.

I tend to run through all my vehicles at least once for the 2x exp (and convert them to free exp) then work through whichever ones my friends are playing. He has a panther now so I usually try to run with a jagdpanther or the ferdy.

Still hate the ferdinand. Spent all night last night dying and dinging IS-4s and IS-7s. Once the tank gets into position... that's it. Can't move to support other fronts if they're collapsing... really don't like the role of being a gun turret. Does the mobility of this big tin can go up with the purchase of the 1st engine or is that just a giant waste of time?

Counted yesterday. took like 10 seconds to turn 180 degrees. GG if anything gets behind me.

In my elite 704 with the BL10, I fear the ferdi more than the JT. In my experaince I can 2 shot the JT while I bounce most shots on the ferdi. I have no idea why. The ferdi will bleed off more of my HP than the the JT too.

This game definitely gets boring pretty quick so I am glad I did it during beta now I have no desire to play it when it is released and hence end up throwing actual money into it's premium account

All games at some point get boring. Even the best of the games that we love so much. I guess for me I have to ask myself is this a game I can keep coming back to after I explored it all even if its only once or twice a week? I believe the answer is yes but I have to ask myself is it worth paying for if I only play it a couple times a week? I'm undecided still on that part. If it works out to be only $10 a month (for Premium) it is a maybe at best. It is not a horrible or bad game. Its quite fun at times actually. It is just unfinished but then again it is still beta.

Installed and played for a couple hours last night. Very nicely put together game. Basically it's a strategic deathmatch style FPS, just in tanks. I was thinking it was more a large scare persistent world, but I should have known better. The genre is definitely interesting though, and the game mechanics are pretty decent (and fairly accurate too). I can say I dislike the "counterstrike-style" spawning system... I hate games where you can get blown to shit in 2 seconds then have to wait what seems like half an hour before you can respawn (and you know... actually PLAY). But then I found out you could exit the battle, hop into a different tank and play another round while the tank you were in is locked until its battle is finished (with no penalty to XP/credits).

It's fun-ish. For the price (free), I think it may actually reside on my machine for a good while.

It is supposed to get persistence, with territory control by clans and such, by the time of the final release.

I think there are 3 engines right? (I am at work so I cant tell for sure). If thats right I think I remember the 2nd engine not being that much of a change but the third one was a big improvement. The improved tracks help a lot too.

That said you will still be screwed if anything gets behind you - it just makes it a little harder for that to happen

So far I have the 1st engine and the 1st set of tracks. Not seeing much of an improvement but I suppose it is better than the stock tank. Is it better to get the 2nd engine before the 63k exp gun? Would I really see much of a mobility difference?

Just tired of traversing at around 15km on perfectly flat ground.

Yeah I'm in the SU-152 and trying to make it to the ISU-152 before it ends. I want to see if the BL-10 with its ridiculous damage and penetration is worth it!

I'm diggin' it. Starting to get the hang of it all. Took me a while to figure out that even if you "lock on" to an enemy, you still have to manually aim to get a hit.

I forget the horse power on the engines but I believe the last engine has a much greater increase in HP than the difference between the stock eninge and the first upgrade. You will never be able to traverse well. Most of my deaths are from tanks getting beside/behind me and not ever being able to get a shot on them (So you will have to plan your positioning better than in a Jagdpanther)

I would probably go for the gun first. It is a beast. I have found that it will penetrate PZIV and lower level med tanks with a HE round - which is pretty much a garaunteed 1 shot kill. The AP even does well (relativley)against tier 10 tanks. I am trying to think of examples. I know it is not tier 10 but I am pretty sure I can, reliably, do 20-30% damage to a Tiger II on a frontal shot

The only downside is the reload time. Aim carefully!

If they are stationary it works ok. The thing to remember is that tanks have certain weak spots and it's not just front vs side vs back. The top part of the frontal sloping armor (the part that slopes towards the turret) is harder than the bottom part of the frontal sloping armor (the part that slopes towards the ground)

Every module has a specific spot in the tanks (varries by tank). If you hit this the chances of module damange goes up. If you have a chance - aim towards the hatches on the backs of tank turrents. These tend to be the ammo rack hatches

You'll like the ISU better for the armor and and power. I have the BL10 on my 704 and rapid fire 122 on the ISU. The BL10 causes massive damage but it takes 15 seconds to reload the damn thing and by then you're marked and everyones primary target. The rapid fire 122 is fun. Tiger II's keep coming at you thinking your not going to reload in time and you just take them down.

For me, a major down side to BL10 is a lot of bounces using AP. 1 out of 3 just glances off even a side shot to a JT.

I loved my SU-152 with the 152mm, especially in Urban maps. Distract, bang with HE to the side, sometimes penetrates... always a good chunk of damage.

The ISU-152 was a similar beast but could put a hole in almost anyone. One-shotted an IS-3 because my BL-10 penetrated his turret and ripped through his ammo rack. The BL-10 does have an annoying habit of bouncing AP rounds against the oddest targets at the MOST inconvenient times.

I never reached the Object 704 but with a slightly improved RoF and some rather tough, sloped armour on the front... I imagine they're much more fun.

There's a reason why my Tank Destroyer Guide pulls in more views than any of my other guides.

Last two evenings I been playing quite a bit. Mostly in the T44 but the other tanks some too. I may actually get to the T54 before the release but we'll see. Most people I've seen on the NA server was last night. Slightly more than 5,000. I'm wondering if the release will bring in more people? The more people playing the better the balanced fights seem to happen. The balance monkey still needs to be tamed though. He gets really off kilter at times. Get the balance problem right and fix the disappearing/invisible tank bug fixed and the game will be pretty nice. Those are my two biggest gripes about the game.

I picked up bulletstorm and have been playing that and a couple other games. I can't get back into WoT for some reason...

Yeah, I been taking a couple days break in between WoT sessions. There are other games I want and like to play but I can't play them all all the time so I have to switch back and forth. This weekend though I been on a WoT kick. Its a game I do like to come back to and play some tank fighting against other opponents. The fact its free right now does add to the lure. <g>

Just got into this game a few days ago. Talk about love it/hate it. I'll run one map and do ok and feel ok, ruyn the next map and just kick ass and love the game then run another map and get one shotted halfway across the map and hate the game.

Biggest problem for me seems to be I'm currently in a T-26 and damned if 5 out of 6 maps I am the lowest tier tank on the field. Makes it a rough map where I really have to stay on my toes. Then the 6th map I'll be on the high side and have a damn ball.

Also tired of getting tracked in my BT-7. I swear if a round even flies by close to me my track pops off in fear.

On the whole a fun game and a definite change of pace from most other shooters.

A new patch went in today. I havent played any yet to see whats different. Suppose to be a new map in it. I'm going to ask a silly question because I don't know the answer myself but back when they were taking preorders (its over now I think) I could not find a way or a link to do so. So I guess I missed out on the preorder. You'd have thought they'd have put a link with big letters (Pre Order Now! Click This Link Now To PreOrder!) all over their site but I looked and didnt see anything at all. Nothing on the front page and nothing in the forums pages.

I'am curious though how we are to buy the game. I read the newsletters and all that but I have yet to see where it says how we are to subscribe to the game once it does go live. I'd like to make sure I do it right so I can make sure I can keep my same in game name. Supposedly the beta testers get to keep them. I don't know if its going to prompt me when I go to sign in on opening day or what. Can anyone clue me in?

P.S. Can you believe they still have not officially released pricing yet for premium even though the lead guy has already publicly said $10 in interviews? Silly Russian developers. <shakes head>

I feel your pain. There are rounds where I can pop 2 or 3 guys, then there's rounds that I'm literally in my tank for < 10 seconds before I'm canned. What irritates me the most is getting 1-shotted by other tanks. Arty I can live with doing that to me. Then there are those players that seem to never miss, no matter what. Somehow I'm thinking there is some sort of hacking going on in the game. Call it a hunch.

Yeah I think I officially got bored of this game. I can't get myself to play it anymore even if I try.

I reached the IS7 in Soviet heavy tanks, the T54 in Soviet medium tanks, the Jagdpanther in German TD's and the VK in German heavy tanks (dont care for the maus).

I really dont want to repeat this grind after release to reach these tanks again. It was brutal and the only reason I even did get this far was taking huge advantage of that 5x bonus to xp/credits they had for 3 days. I practically played those 3 days straight.

They never fixed the piss-poor spotting system which is what annoyed me the most.
