Just bought a rammer and enhanced gun laying drive for my derp KV

How does Wargaming deal with equipment when doing tree changes? I might be tempted to equipment on my KV for credit farming, but once the tree changes happen I don't want to be stuck with a not so good credit farmer with expensive equipment.

Also, between the couple of promotions recently, I was able to pick up 7 slots for free. My wallet subsequently took a significant hit.

Do the 10 gold I figure for removing equipment if the tank turns out bad. Much better than paying all those credits again. I'm not sure what happens when they redo the tanks and trees though if they don't just automatically dismount equipment from the tanks.

Overlord posted an answer to that on his blog (he's one of the wargaming guys). What happens is your equipment will be sold "at cost."

So it sounds like the idea is for you to be able to just re-buy everything & put it on whatever tank you want, at a net cost of 0 credits.

What's not clear is whether they will refund you normal cost or if they refund you the cost you actually paid (i.e., if you buy rammer during a sale like this, you get 250k back, otherwise you get 500k). But given that wargaming seems to behave fairly reasonably, I'd guess you get non-sale prices refunded.

You ever have that game where you think... we just might win this one?

I am playing my 59 on sand river in a tier 9 game, started in the bottom right. We start to lose on all flanks and I retreat from the north east to help out in the south west. After I secure the south west I realize it is down to me an su 8 and a 212 against a panther, a slugger, a t95, an su 100, 2 hummels and a gw panther. Well shit. So I run back to base and spot the slugger who was sneaking in from the back. He must have been in sniper mode and got the SU8 down to single digit hp's before I annihilated him. As soon as he goes, the panther pops up on my radar. I began a dodge and weave as our arty is relocating from the spots the slugger performed. When the panther is taken care of, an arty shell wooshes by my head. Yep, an assault hummel is now in the town by our base. I had HE loaded because the panther was below 100 HP when the SU8 finished him off, I shoot on the run and nail the hummel for a hundred... as I pass by the forward northern entrance the t95 pops up! People who stayed to watch the battle told our arty to work on the 95 while I finish the hummel... no our SU 14 HAD to finish the hummel off and allowed the t95 half a minute to lumber into our base. Okay, well at least the hummel is dead, but wait the su-100 appears out of the mist right next to the corpse of the hummel. So I quickly dispatch that thing and once again sprint back to base... only to find that the 95 has taken up squatter's rights. Having rereloaded AP, I begin to harass the 95 and I realize we are down an arty. Yeah, the SU-14 which KNEW where the 95 was coming from did not relocate and just turned on the spot to nail the 95 once before getting vaporized. I pinned the 95 and had him dead to rights when both of us got hit by the enemy GW Panther. Ah well, single digit SU8 against full GW Panther and Hummel. So we finally lost.

I got 86k credits for the defeat, oh what could have been!

Sounds like a tough scenario to beat regardless of what you do. Facehugging a T-95 is the hardest hugging you'll ever do because it has so much hp. Gives so much time for the arty to zoom in and obliterate you.

Only had one of those scenarios. It was on the new snow map, and our team started on the south side. I had a panther and was in the top ranks. A grand total of 2 tanks (me and a 3001P) went north side and the rest of the team lemminged through the southern valley of death. The whole entire team gets obliterated while me and the 3001P cleaned up the north side. Saw a huge trail of red headed towards our base and I thought "well shit."

Apparently the 3001P had the same thought and we booked it back to base. Before we even get there the capture bar started going up alarmingly fast. As we finally get to the base and can spot the cappers, the cap was already at like 90~. I find 7 low tier tanks, ranging from Vk3001s, 3601s, Lees to sherman E8s. So I pop the Lee (love those things) and the 3001P on our team pops another tank. The counter drops. fortunately I had the corpse of a KV to hide behind and we continued sniping off all the cappers as they tried fighting back uselessly. This is one and only time I thought ROF was better than alpha damage.

Game ends, between me and the 3001P we racked up 13 kills. I got 7 he got 6.

Saw a lot of that this past weekend too. The idea is to go all offside and get to cap before the enemy does or realizes it happening. Thing is the team moves as one like they are all in out it but I'm not in on the info. Nobody tells me! It does work at times. Most of the time it doesn't. I think the map that I see this happen the most on is The Abbey map.

Whats really weird is when both sides do this. Blob of green on one side of screen moving as a wave and then on the other side of the map a blob of red moving as a wave. Once in a while the two sides do this on the same side of the map and you get one big ferocious battle takes place. Then it comes down to last tank standing that goes onto win usually.

It really is a tremendously stupid plan. Unless both teams are doing the same thing on opposite sides of the map, the full team will encounter resistance. Even if they are able to crush it fairly easily with overwhelming numbers, the enemies pushing the opposite flank will encounter nobody. It is pretty clear which group will move faster.

The only chance such a "strategy" has is if the enemies on the opposite flank are camping, and don't take the cue to speed forward when a giant red blob appears on the side opposite from them.

Plus most people fail to act correctly to make such a push work. The one thing that the team must do is continue forward. But if they encounter more than token resistance, often everybody will sit back and try to take the enemy out without getting shot at much.

Basically it is a stupid plan performed by idiots counting on the other team to be even bigger idiots.

It takes only 3 big guns on one side to completely stop a push. That and if you're in a good position, you're usually pretty protected from enemy fire and can PAB at your own leisure. When you cream an e-75 in 1 volley, the rest usually think twice before trying to flank. The bravest ones are usually the mediums though.

That's what kills me, if you're doing a one sided rush, you cannot stop because you see a T-50-2. The whole team will stop to try and shoot it, completely negating any advantage that rush gave you. If they kept moving as a huge wall of steel and overwhelmed any tanks they saw it would work more often. But people playing have too many squirrel! moments.

This happened twice yesterday. In a tier 9 battle in my ferdi and platooned with an ISU-bl10, on abby we held off half the enemy team... still lost though. On prokwhateverka our platoon of 3 derpy KV's in a tier 8 battle took on a crap load of tanks on the other side of the tracks. Absolutely nobody else went to the other side so we waited at the tracks. We spotted a KV-5 at mid field and three shots later it was REALLY hurting. The first enemy that crested was a 59 which we ANNIHILATED. The wounded KV-5 came next which we finished off. Then 3 tier 8 mediums rushed and we were overwhelmed, but before we fell we each fired 2 more times. I have no idea if we won that battle as we all basically rage quit afterward (after giving our team a piece of our mind that the 3 bottom POS tanks took on a whole flank).

Derp KV with a rammer and laying drive is hilarious. Avg 3-4 kills a game unless I get pushed into a high tier game. Then I piss off KV-5's, E75s, IS's ect when I nail them for 400+.

Got my Pershing the upgraded engine. At least now I feel its more like a medium. No more putting along on stock engine. I can keep up with most other tanks now.

like someone said above, you get paid out for the equipment you have during the tier change. then you can rebuy it, or buy something else

I recently started playing with skins, got tired of looking at the default steel look for most of the tanks. Got some nice skins for the tiger, tiger II, panther, etc. Question though: is there an easy way to install them besides copying and pasting and making backups along the way?

LOL. Tier 9 battle on campinovka, 1 arty per side. Our type 59's & some IS types rush the center field right off the bat. TDs and lower tiers (like me in my vk36) hang back and snipe. I've NEVER seen that work before. But we caught them completely off guard. There were still plenty of enemies milling around the starting area which were easy pickings for the snipers. The ones that didn't die were often visible thru the holes in the buildings... more easy pickings.

6 lost on our side, we win.

I'm often the guy that's stuck defending the open flank, I just got my 2nd scout medal in my Lowe (1st was in my T29 under the same condititions)

Another thing: With the half-off equipment prices I decided to try out the vstab and gun laying drive, in addition to the rammer I already have on my Lowe. My gameplay with the Lowe has increased probably 75% and I'm making probabably 50% more credits on average. I wish I would have done it a long time ago. Below was done using the recent freebie codes and 3 day premium:

i should have the long 10,5 for my KT tonight, i did not know it was used on the 4502p, so i might as well grind on it with the KT, i'm about 1k away from it then i can grind for the E75.

i'm about 20k away from the final engine then i can begin the grind for the 4502p from my 4502 ausf A.

it sucks because i work this entire weekend so that's wasted grinding time!

Got the BL10 on my ISU, what a fun tank! It is still not up there with Mr. Derpy KV but it is really fun to smack big tanks for 600-1000 damage.

First game I had with the BL10 was on campinova. About 2 minutes in a 38NA runs across the field. Poor little thing. Then I smacked a lowe through the window, a ferdi through another window and then in final defense mode I ruined a 59's day.

I had a great game in my GW Tiger (still stock gun). Three of us were platooning in tier 7-8 arty on erlinberg. Our game was almost cut short by 2 scouts, but after that we racked up 10 kills between us. We were firing at horrible angles and just kept launching a concentrated volley when things popped up. It was funny seeing our shots go long/short/dead on. Towards the end of the game we were taking bets on which one would get the lucky hit in our grouping of 3.
